They're making a new Punisher movie?

Post by Superman »

I just found out that a Punisher movie is in the works! What the hell is Marvel thinking? Who gives a rat's ass about the Punisher (I bet that this would be Marvel's biggest flop out of the recent series of movies that are being put out)? Remember when Dolph Lungren filled this role? lol

Why are they not doing some of the more famous Marvel characters? I would love to see a Thor movie! Hell, why not Captain America? Instead we are getting DAREDEVIL? I bet that the average Joe-Movie-goer hasn't even heard of Daredevil.

Actually, the Punisher comics were/are very popular. But really, the same could be asked about Blade, who really is a mid range hero.

A lot of people have heard of Daredevil, actually.

And The Punisher.

Who the fuck is Thor?

The original Punisher movie was filmed in Australia. It sucked ass IMO. They took everything that made the Punisher cool, and fucked it up.

However, if they go all Hong Kong action with this new version, I will fucking spew. The Punisher isn't like that, goddamit.

There are better choice than the Punisher what about the Avenger,Fantastic Four or like some mentioned Captain America but this time lets hope it s much much better than the 1991 version.

Actually, that depends. One of the Punisher's first shootouts since he got back to the basics was described by a bystander as "20 seconds of Old-School John Woo"

And Frank himself on the Martial Arts, as he moves to eliminate a man just hired to kill him:
Timmy Lau. Local Boy. Martial Arts expert, Black Belt minimum.

In anything you care to name.

I know a little martial arts. Use it if I have to.
*Follows Timmy into the subway*
I figure, if you're too close to shoot, you're too close period.

But I do have one favotite.
*Pushes Timmy in front of the oncoming train*
Splat-Fu.

They could do a kung-fu scene in a Punisher movie, as long as they do it right.

I could see a guy jumping Frank, they get into it, and at one point, break off.

The Fighter shows off, putting a couple of poses. Frank gets out of his stance and stands normally.

The Fighter charges, and Frank pulls out a gun and shoots him.

I've got tons of punisher comics. What a bystander thinks is hardly what we need- I've never seen the Punisher pull any John Woo tricks except for the occasional two weapons at the same time thing.

If Punisher becomes Hong Kong Style...I'm joining Vympel in spewing.

He is a cold bastard, and literally he does things with one way...get it done, no flash, no big shoot out with pointless BS.

Hong Kong style does not suit him.

Giant big ass guns...yes

Old-School John Woo basically means a lot of bodies, and a lot more bullets. Essentially a major war in a small room. Something the Punisher pulls off in spades, especially if it's a gunfight in a small space.

Screw trying to pin it down...I want something on the level of just some asskicking

I don't care Hong Kong or not...and honestly if I see only dual gun holding or some bizarre martial arts ballet I will spew.

The movie should be moody and bloody(then again they'll probably screw the movie over like they did with Road to Perdition.....oi)

I think that old-school John Woo or Tsui Hark would make a good Punisher movie.

Just watch the original The Killer. Not that flashy and helluva cool. Punisher would be an infinately badder man, but the technique is still just as good.

The Killer was nice...but mostly I want just less flash for Punisher, mostly given how the man is basically treated(he really looks awkward in Marvel as is).

I could see old John Woo...but I dunno...more colder outlook, less showy.

Lots of people have "almost killed" Wolverine, cause he's a normal person that can heal real fucking fast.

I really don't have anything about a Punisher movie. I just hope they can distinguish it from all the other movies about pissed off vigilantes with guns, like the Death Wish series. As for other Marvel characters, a Fantastic 4 movie is also in the works.

Could be interesting.

Word has it that Thomas Jane has been offered the lead. That could be cool. Busta Rhymes supposedly has a decent sized role in it. And Kurt Russell is supposed to play Tombstone.
