Vajra (Macross) in the Stargate-verse

Post by Majin Gojira »

Through act of Nyarlethotep (Q lost a game to him), the Vajra (of Macross Frontier) have replaced the Wraith in the Andromeda Galaxy (and a few other Galaxies, as they are a galactic hive-mind species, just not the Milky Way or Asgard Home Galaxy, but several other nearby galaxies as well.

The Vajra are basically space-ants with a hive mind which communicate through folds in space. They can travel at faster-than-light speeds through the use of these folds, and do so with ease and speed. As inscet-like life forms, they have several stages of development, ranging from a cute-little hexapodal weasle-like organism to the several-kilometer tall Queen.

Normally I'd call them Biotech wank, but really, they're closer to Kaiju than to living ships. The fact that they naturall generate explosive projectiles ("missiles"), Chaff/Missile Interceptors, "Bullets" and energy bursts of varying yields makes that an easy assesment to make.

The Vajra, for their part, don't consider humanity to be any big deal, but will attack if assaulted in some way. Furthermore, they do not recognize other sapience as being individual organisms. They believe that any sapient organism (or indeed, any other organism) is likely a hive mind like they are (and thus cannot understand how humans, once observed, can be so chaotic and violent with itself). The Vajra, for there part, already have this negative view of humanity thanks to encountering the ancients.

A quick battle clip is located here featuring a Vajra Carrier firing its main weapon and destroying an asteroid (the ship using the asteroid as a shield is 400m in length when in battleship form) 2:36 in. To me, it looks to be roughly 800m in diameter.

And here's a quick clip of the figther-level Vajra in action.

The Challenge is for the Atlantis expedition to either survive, defeat or make peace with the Vajra.

Can the Atlantis Expedition communicate with such an alien force? Can they survive it?

IIRC The calcs for the Vajira main gun's destruction of the Asteroid in the aformentioned battle clip are around 500KT for a single shot.

Not really that powerful in the SG verse, standard ship weapons are triple-digit kilotons or single digit megatons for the rapid fire weapons, with naquadah enhanced nukes going into the gigaton range.

I think the deadalus could probably take a Vajira mothership even without the Asgard guns.
And this is why you don't watch anything produced by Ronald D. Moore after he had his brain surgically removed and replaced with a bag of elephant semen.-Gramzamber, on why Caprica sucks
