Sym-Bionic Titan

Post by SAMAS »

As Adult Swim put it:

Voltron
meets
Kikaider
meets
The Day The Earth Stood Still
meets
Samurai Jack
meets
HELL YEAH!

Seriously, this is the new series by Samurai Jack/Clone Wars (not to be confused with The Clone Wars) creator Genndy Tartakovsky. An alien princess, her bodyguard, and a robot are sent to Earth when their homeworld is conquered by aliens. While trying to live peacefully in the city of Sherman, Il, they will have to contend with alien Robeasts and warriors, the Military, and the Mysterious Galactic Guardians. Fortunately, they have their giant mecha to protect them, which can combine to form the Sym-Bionic Titan.

Or something like that.

They had the premiere this weekend, and it's scheduled to air on Fridays with the new seasons of The Clone Wars and Generator Rex. I don't know how the High School segments are going to go, but the fights look like they're gonna be classic Tartakovsky.

Wow. My brain melted when I reached the word 'Seriously' after the description what it would be like...
A minute's thought suggests that the very idea of this is stupid. A more detailed examination raises the possibility that it might be an answer to the question "how could the Germans win the war after the US gets involved?" - Captain Seafort, in a thread proposing a 1942 'D-Day' in Quiberon Bay

Watching the trailer, it seems a lot more conventional compared to the more highly stylised stuff that Tartakovsky has done in the past. That said, the level of polish and general production is higher.
What is Project Zohar?

Here's to a certain mostly harmless nutcase.

I think she was hilarious! I wonder how much stuff they intend to get below the radar. :)

The show´s off to a good start, and the kids blowing their cover this early in the game could mean there´s an actual, paced, story structure in the works instead of a few dozen monsters-of-the-week with a moral lesson on top followed by the season finale where they just continue the status quo. Still, too early to tell.

Lance is cool as angsty space-american Kabuto Kouji. :P

Thats probably the result of a higher animation budget.
