Same thing with my Star Trek one but with the bugs.
Lets say thousads of years BBY a Asgard infested ship crashed on a unknown planet on the outer rim. All the Replicators somehow fell apart and did not activate till later. Now there will be two scenarios for this topic:
1.) While a Imperial Star Destroyer was partrolling on the Outer rim they go down to the planet to see what they can find. They soon find many Rep blocks scattered across the surface. The Imperials picked them up aboard to take for study. They soon activate and then form into a Rep Bug what happens next? This takes place 5 months ABY.
2.) During the clone wars the same thing happens but the people that picked them up was a Sepratist scout ship and took it back to one of the carriers then what happens when they activate onboard?
You dont want to mess with the Replicators. This theme is awesome.

They have a stronger chance of getting the infection early (by dint of having better guns) but if they don't, are doomed.
