Metal Heads vs Covenant Ground Forces

So who would win in this fight for controll of a planet? The Covenant from the Halo games vs the Metal Heads from the Jak and Daxter series. Both start at opposite ends of a planet and one must destroy the other side to win. Can they do it?
No orbital bombardment allowed.

Well, the Metal Heads are basically space locusts who look like a cross between cyborgs and the Heartless. The Covenant (for all their weird and inefficient technologies) have guns, vehicles, and a command structure. If the Covenant can get to the other side of the planet before the Metal Heads dig in and start spawning hoards of larva or whatever then they should be able to mop them up fairly quickly. The bigger Metal Heads can just be taken out with anti-vehicle weaponry.

That said, if the Covenant sits around for too long and let the Metal Heads start spawning then they could be overwhelmed. Grunts may be able to reproduce rapidly and make weapons but I don't think they can outbreed the Metal Heads.
