Most interesting part of article is the suggestion she could be a non-human companion. Which would be a real nice change. Though would make it a lot harder to explain why two aliens are hanging around Earth quite so much.

It would be a fairly simple explanation. Have her be an alien that has an interest in Earth like the Doctor does. Or have Earth be their adopted home where they have been living for a while. Or even that she is studying earth and decides to travel with the Doctor to get material for a kick-ass thesis. As problems go it really isn't very hard.

Oh I do hope its true that she's playing a non-human.

Also, I will forgive Moffat for Let's Kill Hitler if her character is not sexually attracted to the Doctor. Well, maybe. ;)

I don't recall her from anything either Dartzap, though I probably have seen her before since it says she was in Captain America.

She could be one of the lizard people, although that would be a massive waste of her hotness burying it under makeup.

Strangely, I don't find her that attractive. And I don't really care. I'm more interested in how the character is written. For the love of God, give us something original, and give us someone who's relationship with the Doctor is not in any way romantic or sexual.

Eh, she could just wear a holo emitter or a skinsuit most of the time. Only reveal the alien look at some points.

Or she'll be a member of one of the seemingly endless species that are different to humans but look exactly the same. Or, at least, appear the same, we know that Humans, Thals and Kaleds are totally different aside from external appearance.

I wonder. It would be highly unlikely, but it would be cool if this was a regenerated version of Jenny. Even if I would prefer to see Georgia Moffat back in tight leather pants :D

You're Welcome. Amy's been pretty good since they got it out of the way. Of course, she's the Doctor's mother-in-law now.

Over the years, the (old school) Doctor has had:
Aliens,
Robots,
Humans from the future
Humans from the past
And other Timelords (NA now) as Companions.

The constant stream of JUST Humans and ones JUST from 'modern' times has been a real disappointment for a lot of fans.
I know Dr Who is desperate to connect with new viewers of today, but a bit of change would be REALLY welcome.

Actually, it would be quite possible for them to have a Time Lord companion if they wanted to. Just bring back the Doctor's clone daughter.

I'm obviously missing something, because nothing in the OP article says The Doctor actually picks her up on Earth? It's not like The Doctor visiting alien worlds is something that comes as a surprise, nor is a lot of them having inhabitants that look remarkably like humans.

Yeah Jenny really needs a cameo at some point, I want to see Amy deal with having a grand daughter that is her age.

Like that would faze her. She's already got a daughter who's significantly older than she is and a son-in-law who's pushing a thousand.

More like well past a thousand. Not to mention a husband who's pushing two thousand.

I totally forgot about Rory being The Last Centurion. And I do dimly remember the nuWho Doctor saying he was some 900 years old at some time.

He did. Given that he's got previous when it comes to being sensitive about his age, and the just-regenerated Seventh Doctor was over 950, my conclusion is that he's taken to outright lying about it.

He's stated himself to be 903 in "Voyage of the Damned" and 907 sometime in Matt Smith's first season. Then again, Nine had "900 years of phone box travel) and Seven had "900 years experience." Didn't Eight lose about a hundred years of his memory in one of the books?

The most recent mention of his age was the first episode of the latest season, where future/robot Doctor says he's over a thousand. Doesn't he? And we were all wondering at the time about the sudden jump from 900+ to eleven hundred and something.

The article I read about the Doctor's new companion said she would be talking as fast as he does. That doesn't sound good. I can just barely follow Smith when he turns up the dialogue speed, the last thing we need is a two way conversation between the two main characters at Warp Speed. Ugh. It'll be like watching an episode of Medical Investigation.

Regarding the not being human rumours, she could be one of those alien cuckoos like the kid from last series that put scary things in the cupboard.

Mmm, never heard of her and she is attractive... compared to the outrageous attractiveness of Amy in her skirts thats not unexpected. Wether or not they will be as overt in playing the sex / romance card this time remains to be seen.
Alien - Bleh, means nothing. Will see how she actually performs to see if she will REALLY be an alien or basically a human that has a few wierd quirks.

The talking fast - ugh, why the fuck do you go down this route ?. Now we either have two actors that effectively spout streams of horseshit at each other or contrived situations where the condense the plot into a massive blurb of exposition...
Either way... if thats the only thing that defines her as being alien then that was a waste of time.

When Four met Romana, they had an argument about his age. She said that he was older than he claimed to be. One of them had to be wrong, and if it was him, then we have evidence that the Doctor's been lying about his age since at least his fourth incarnation.

I only know the nuWho Doctors so this is pretty much baseless speculation, but as the regenerations seem to be pretty traumatic experiences, could it be he simply no longer really knows how old he actually is?
