Caprica City ISOT To the 1950s

Post by Gurgeh »

By act of a freak accident, the entire city of Caprica after the MAGLEV train bombing has been ISOTed to Vancouver Canada in the year 1955. With this sudden change how will the people of Earth react? How will Caprican citizens deal with being on Earth? What will happen next?

Canada just got a technological boost and the infrastructure to go with it in the form of Graystone Industries and whatever industries exist within the city limits. Since Caprica City was also the center of education, learning, culture, etc. a wealth of knowlegge is now also in the hands of our neighbors to the north. Also, the spaceport in Caprica just put the Canadians at the top of the space race! (until they run out of Tylium) :P

Homosexual Capricans as well as polygamists will suddenly find themselves in a world that hates them. I would also think that their polytheistic ways would turn off many, doubly so since the gods they worship are considered to be nothing but myths and legends.

Worshippers of the One True God would probably have an easier time now, since most of Earth in the 1950's is monotheistic. Of course, if the OTG cult continued its campaign of terror on Earth, I would think fear of communism would quickly evaporate into fear of grass-roots level religious terrorism.

If the V-world from Caprica still works, I imagine that everyone will hate that also; tool of the devil and all that shit. Now I don't know what 1950's Canada's attitudes were, but 1950's America would undoubtedly hate the damm thing worse than Rock 'n' roll.

Well Darth Lucifer covered most of what would happen but has over looked one point and that is the Capricans may well look down on us Earthers since sexism is non-existent (or at least females can serve in the military with no problems) and the only racism that really exists happens between the Colonies these things are present in 1950's Earth

The world as we know it blows up in a time paradox as the Caprican citizenry (especially the Greystone Tech which helped create the Cylons) are essential to us existing today (us being the us version in NBSG). Without that evolutionary kick start we are likely completely different than how we are now as hinted at in the BSG finale.

As such, it'd probably be more like "What if Caprica City suddenly appeared on a prehistoric level era world. Discuss."

Millions of people starve to death. No farms, and few people who know how to farm.
