Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome
Looks better than I expected. I'm cautiously optimistic that it won't be a snoozefest like Caprica was.

Yeah, but it was resurrected as a web series (apparently).

So how do they plan on marketing this? is it going to be to-order on itunes or something?

I think you can watch it for free online, then they'll compile all the webisodes and show them as a movie on SyFy. I'm sure they're hoping to sell DVDs and Blu-rays of it too.

Re: Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome
This is the same bunch that did the Halo Forward Unto Dawn series, so it should be at least reasonably good.
Baltar: "I don't want to miss a moment of the last Battlestar's destruction!"
Centurion: "Sir, I really think you should look at the other Battlestar."
Baltar: "What are you babbling about other...it's impossible!"
Centurion: "No. It is a Battlestar."
Corrax Entry 7:17: So you walk eternally through the shadow realms, standing against evil where all others falter. May your thirst for retribution never quench, may the blood on your sword never dry, and may we never need you again.

Looks like fun. I'm ready for a bit more nBSG music to add to my collection, so hopefully Bear has come up with some good themes.
It's Jodan, not Jordan. If you can't quote it right, I will mock you.

First part is up:
Galactica seems to have more dorsal heavy guns (?) than on the nBSG series. Also, enough with the lens flare/blowouts. Gah!!!

Hot damn this looks and sounds nice.

The lens flares are likely done to mask some probable dodgy special effects.FSTargetDrone wrote:Galactica seems to have more dorsal heavy guns (?) than on the nBSG series. Also, enough with the lens flare/blowouts. Gah!!!

It had me at the point where they did the first establishing shot of the Galactica to a beautifully spare rendition of the classic Battlestar Galactica theme.gigabytelord wrote:Hot damn this looks and sounds nice.

And here's a working link for those of us who the internet doesn't like.

No idea if it's any good as I haven't watched it, but fuck region locking.

Youtube's being a laggy POS so I can't say for sure, but I think you've got the video set as private, Weemadando.

Mildly annoyed by Adama's indignant self-entitled whining when he finds out the military won't always let him do what he wants. Was it also necessary to call him Husker every minute? We know that it's him and I'd have rather had the callsign introduced a bit later with a story beyond "first co-pilot thought I was a farmboy and wouldn't hear a word otherwise."

Episode 2 is up though the graphical quality is pretty atrocious.
'Next time I let Superman take charge, just hit me. Real hard.'
'You're a princess from a society of immortal warriors. I'm a rich kid with issues. Lots of issues.'
'No. No dating for the Batman. It might cut into your brooding time.'
'Tactically we have multiple objectives. So we need to split into teams.'-'Dibs on the Amazon!'
'Hey, we both have a Martian's phone number on our speed dial. I think I deserve the benefit of the doubt.'
'You know, for a guy with like 50 different kinds of vision, you sure are blind.'

Or I could try that.
EDIT: Also, 2 days on a Raptor? That thing makes Trek shuttles look roomy.

It fits his character. Do you recall "It's a military decision" in the original series?Ahriman238 wrote:Mildly annoyed by Adama's indignant self-entitled whining when he finds out the military won't always let him do what he wants.
Re: Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome
This explanation for the callsign looks like a retcon, since it was earlier explained as a reference to Adama's gravelly voice. It might have been changed because Luke Pasqualino's voice isn't particularly gravelly.Ahriman238 wrote:Was it also necessary to call him Husker every minute? It's also interesting that early-generation raptors (or at least some) don't have jump drives. Maybe the drives can't be made small enough yet.

Re: Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome
This is decades before nBSG so that wouldn't be particularly surprising. Alternatively it was at this point simply not affordable, or Colonial High Command at the time figured putting a jump drive on a ship that small was a waste of resources.

One thing to be extraordinarily self-possessed and willing to push the envelope of your authority, quite another to argue with a superior officer about your assigned duties. Which is what really got me, it's not the CAG or deck officer's job to explain that you get assigned a bird, you don't pick one. Some variation on this idea should have been introduced to him the very first day of whatever training he's had.
Ooh, secret mission gone horribly wrong. Always good for a first week on the job. I'm also slightly annoyed at the bull[loud clang] way of editing profanity when the series already made up their own swears to get around the issue.
