Holy shit. Superman/Batman movie CONFIRMED for 2015. Thor 2 footage, Captain America 2 footage, Guardians of the Galaxy footage, Godzilla footage, Robocop footage, THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON ANNOUNCED.
Man, I'm thousands of miles away from the place and I can feel the heat. Did anyone on the board go? If so, please share your experience. :D

Is AoU the next Avengers flick? Did they decide Thanos wasn't going to cut it?

Oh and hey DC still can't make a fucking movie about anyone besides Superman and Batman.

Looks that way, it came as a surprise to me as AoU is such a recent storyline, though it makes sense from a financial perspective. As for Thanos, looks like he'll be saved for Avengers 3. I like the approach, they're not rushing headlong into pursuing the Thanos storyline, but taking their time to explore other stuff going on. Such as an evil robot hell-bent on death and destruction :D

Lots of someones did. Hiddleston seemed to be having an absolute blast up there. He's probably well aware that he will forever more be Loki in the minds of most, though he probably enjoys the role enough to not get upset about it yet. Later on it may become problematic for him, though. Here's hoping he lands plenty of variety in his future career.

The Game of Thrones panel had a few good bits. In particular, George RR Martin saying he couldn't take all the credit for the deaths in HBO's adaption, seeing as they'd killed off several characters that are still alive in the books.

Thanos is the mastermind (but not the main villain) of the Guardians of the Galaxy. Apparently they are playing the long game with him, probably Avengers 3.

I dunno. Ultron is a big setup. I know they are doing Ant-Man, but is it Pym or Lang?
Lang may be more relate-able as a character and as there are already two eccentric (four if you count Spidey and Mr Fantastic) genius with problems super-heroes adding Pym into the mix is just pushing it to me.

Without Pym though, Ultron seems like a real stretch. Putting another threat at Stark's feet seems like a dick move.

Looks like Wright's script calls for both Pym and Lang as main characters and it is coming out after AoU so Pym doesn't look to be in the Ultron at all.

No one knows whether or not Pym is going to be retired or not. The original script Wright was looking at back in 2006 (Which is before Iron Man, or even Wright directed Scott Pilgrim) was basically going to have Pym as a retired superhero from the 60's and Lang as a lovable loser who takes over the identity. Of course, I'm not sure that would work given the obvious developments since then.

Honestly, I hope Pym is in it. I was really disappointed that he won't be making Ultron, not the least of which being that he's a great substitute for Reed Richards since Fox is probably going to hold onto the Fantastic Four. Plus we've had enough movies about Tony Stark and if he's going to be making Ultron (Which is the most logical conclusion, though Whedon seems to be hinting it's not all him), he's going to be the focus yet again. Need to share the spotlight with the others, preferably the ones that don't have sequels.

Ant-Man is confirmed as an origin story, that means Pym.

Based on all the movies, Ultron should be a conglomeration of Asgardian magik/tech, Hydra/Tesseract power and a good dose of SHIELD/Government mishandling of all the said technologies with Stark's AI tech thrown in.

That seems likely -- perhaps some kind of AI program in the Chitauri tech recovered from the Battle of New York as well.

After watching Man of Steel I'm honestly curious what kind of Batman is going to be teaming up with that Superman. The combat capabilities shown in MoS were (aside from visually amazing) absolutely terrifying. I'm not even sure how they could do the proverbial pissing contest. I'm still eager to see it of course, I'm just certain they'll have to deviate from the recent Nolan Batman to someone more intellectual.

Yeah, the Nolan Batman did focus more on the kung fu side of things as to why he was the Batman and not really his detective skills.

I can't see Bats going up against a being who can create shockwaves with his punches, and I suspect the 'vs' aspect of the film will be dealt with very quickly and make way for the team-up.
If they are going to fight, Supes will have to seriously keep his power under control, or Bats find a way to weaken him, or he's using some kind of upgraded armour.
