Doctor Who episode 10 The Battle of Ranskoor Av Kolos

So Tim Shaw is back and he builds a device which is a combination of the Pirate Planet (from the classic Tom Baker episode) and the Dalek magnetron device.

I was not impressed.

It was not terrible, but easily one of the weakest scripts of the season.

Why the big deal about the planets mental effects when they have no thematic bearing on the story?

Graham's acting continues amazing. Yaz remains underused.

Playing with the fandom over doctors attitude to weapons was amusing.

Tim Shaw remains a tool and a recurring villian.

A full season with no daleks, no cybermen. Doesn't this mean they lose the rights to use one of them ?

My feeling as well.

Agreed - the only reason I can see for it was giving a reason why the Doctor would have "neural balancers" later on in the story for disrupting what the Ux were doing.

The Ux species, as a concept, are ridiculous. A species with just two members? Not viable. Not the last two a species, but a species that only has ever had two? Just as well they didn't dwell on it that much.

I'm not sure if Chibnall is trying to better define the Doctor's stance on weapons and using them, or mock it.
Tim Shaw remains a tool and a recurring villian.
Yes, but his first outing was much stronger. In this episode he mainly just stood in place or postured. Granted, he's supposed to be debilitated but so's Davros and he usually moves more than Tim Shaw did in this episode. It's like there was no body language.
A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory. Leonard Nimoy.

Now I did a job. I got nothing but trouble since I did it, not to mention more than a few unkind words as regard to my character so let me make this abundantly clear. I do the job. And then I get paid.- Malcolm Reynolds, Captain of Serenity, which sums up my feelings regarding the lawsuit discussed here.

Nah, it just feels that way due to how often they show up. Frankly I'm glad to have a break!

Decidedly average. There were some good elements, and Graham continues to be the most engaging of the new companions, and Jodie continues to impress as the Doctor...but the script was just bland.

This would have worked better as a mid-season episode, not as the finale.
Baltar: "I don't want to miss a moment of the last Battlestar's destruction!"
Centurion: "Sir, I really think you should look at the other Battlestar."
Baltar: "What are you babbling about other...it's impossible!"
Centurion: "No. It is a Battlestar."
