Tracked Armored Vehicles (aka TANKS) beat Battletech, which in turn
beats everything else so bad it isn't even funny....

The Timberwolf is cheaper to make, and far simpler to the VF-1...can someone
here do a real cost analyisis of how much more expensive the VF-1 is
because it has to be an atmospheric fighter.....a space fighter......AND a ground mech all in one?

Long range in the Btech Universe being slightly over 1 kilometer, of course.

Me? I'll take a Warrior IV+, Jaguar, or a Black Mamba from Heavy Gear any day. Barring that, I'll take a Ryu from Jovian Chronicles.

FYI, all three of those have built-in weapons. They're hidden within the body.

1st pic:
Image

OK, see those vents on the shoulders? Those are really massive beam cannons, and if I wanted to be REALLY generous, I'd compare them to super-PPCs. There are also 4 60mm vulcan cannons on the head, they're the dots next to the eyes.

2nd pic:
Image

Okay, this one's a little easier. The long gray barrel is a massive artillery cannon that launches explosive rounds. Next to it is a long- and mid-rangs missile launcher. This machine also has a pair of vulcans, but they're difficult to pick out.

3rd pic:
Image

Okay, there's the massive gun attached to its hand (it usually carries one on each) see the things on its legs? They're missile launchers. There's also two more built into the shoulders. Add the quintessential head vuclan and a massive pair of gattling guns built behind a pop-out panel in the chest, and that's a lot of firepower.

For a small point of reference concerning Exos (which are better suited towards the "Giant" Mecha catagory than gears), here is the Jovian Pathfinder, the most common Exo in the Jovian Chronicles Universe (and the General-Purpose unit of the Jovian Armed Forces). It is, overall, not too terribly different concerning basic technology than the Ryu, which I have mentioned above.

This is the Pathfinder:

Battletech might beat veritechs in cost-effectiviness.... But that all they will beat them in, thats for sure.

And while mechs might never exist in rl or so... never talk about about tank dominating over mechs in sci-fi. Becuase it never happens.

Ok, so Pathfinder's generator output: 1550 KW

Orbital Frame Jehuty's generator's maximum output: 93214000000000000 KW, as stated in-game. :p (I'm not exaggerating either...)

I'd say Jehuty severly outclasses Pathfinder

Well, two things to consider:

1. This thread is more along the lines of "which would rather you be piloting", not necessarily "what would kick what's tin-can-tushie", though that is a part of it. In any event, I'm referring Heavy Gear and Jovian Chronicles stuff to Gundam and Battletech primarily. I know how incredibly powerful the stuff in ZoE is, and wouldn't even try to claim that a Pathfinder could take out "Jesus's Second Coming" Jehuty. :P

2. Actually, the main reactor of the Pathfinder is independent of its weapons. This is a common trend in DP9 stuff. Only Capital Ships get away with "infinite use" energy cannons. Exos, Fighters, Drones, and the like, all have limited charges for all of their weapons. Thus, the power of the Exo's armament can't accurately be determined by it's reactor output. You actually have to refer to the weapons it carries. This is especially true of the Dragonstriker and Korikaze Exos (Earth and Venus, respectively), which carry some exceptionally nasty weapons. IIRC, the Dragonstriker Prototype was carried four nukes (MT range, I think), and the Korikaze carries some very nasty limpet mines. But I digress.

But hey, Jovian Chronicles isn't doing too bad for a civilization that hasn't moved outside of Sol yet. 8)

Ah, well in that case, I can't decide between Jehuty and Anubis which one I'd rather pilot... as for ammo, since you obviously know about it, you'd notice that Jehuty has "infinate energy" for all it's energy weapons... of course, I'm not sure if you know anything about Jehuty when it's actually completed:

http://home.bak.rr.com/isilzha/2ndRunne ... 0_no14.jpg

Jehuty gets a slight weapons upgrade... :D

It is not more badass, so what if it came first, and so what about the cockpit location? :P (if you've seen the interview with the designer he did that on purpose.. haha)

Anubis contains far more badass than any other mech or mecha out there :P

I guessed that he did.. still it gets rather silly, especially when Jehuty goes into fly mode.
Wait a minute.. Jehuty has a female voice.. and then there was Neith.. OMG, ZOE is full of shemale mecha!!!

I'd like to see Anubis be able to smack all opposition down with no weapons when it's 500 years old! That instantly makes Alpha Weltall more badass, and it looks more badass to! It does! It dooooooes!

I played Zone of Enders on the PS2 shortly after it came out. Beat the game in one sitting, then had to move on (was playing on a friend's PS2). The information is not immediately springing to mind, but I remember a fair chunk about the capabilities of the Jehuty from that game, and it was pretty freaking uber. All accounts I've heard since then only increase the bugger's power, so I don't even bother. The one thing I do remember was the ZoE drinking game that my friend and I came up with. Every time a character in the game says "What?!", take a drink. Take an additional drink for each consecutive "What?!" in a row from the same character. For example:

Enemy pilot: Your mother's a whore!
Kid in Jehuty: What?! (one drink)
Enemy pilot: I am your brother!
Kid in Jehuty: What?! (two drinks)
Enemy pilot: Die!
Kid in Jehuty: But...but I don't want to fight...
Enemy pilot: Then we must make wild, crazy monkey love!
Kid in Jehuty: What?! (one drink, however, given the context, feel free to add however many more you'd like)

Anything that makes you scream, "Noooo! Don't leave us alone with the plot!" (for example, flashback sequences), drink until the it makes the hurting stop.

So far as we've seen Anubis does take down all opposition with no weapons :P (Teleport to point blank, locking enemy completely, then smite them) As for 500 years old... it just means Anubis is newer, and better.. and it still looks more badass. :P

Oh, it's also stated, once Jehuty is completed, that it is just as powerful as Anubis.
