I know that you can't pick Optimus but he was definately my favorite, after him it would be Grimlock and Starscream. I loved Starscream's voice and his conniving ways, the Iago of the Decepticons excpet not quite as smart. Too bad the voice actor died for Starscream...as did Optimus' IIRC

Its not that you can't pick optimus, but he is almost everyones favorite. Thats why i say other than. Starscream is great. He added alot of comedy in the show. Every chance he got he tried to become the leader. If Megatron tripped Starscream would declare "Megatron has fallen, I am your new leader" Too funny

Soundwave. He was big, tough, he had the cool cylon voice, and he could unleash Rumble, Frenzy, and Laserbeak.

Starscream (just because :) ) , Shockwave (because he's cool and he had those cassettes with him) and Grimlock (because Dinobots kicked ass). :)

You forgot about Ravage and Ratbat.

Next to Megatron, Soundwave was the coolest of the Decepticons. Starscream was always good comedy relief.

My favourites among the Autobots, next to the Big Guy of course, were Prime's chief lieutennants: Ironhide, Wheeljack, and Jazz.

Grimlock (The fucking t-rex original bastard Grimlock, not this damned heavy machinary piece of shit.)
Soundwave.

There are so many damned cool ones, but these two would probably be tops.

Honourable mentions would have to be Starscream for the Decepticons and Wreck Gar for the autobots. (If I remember correctly in the cartoon he became an autobot.)

Probably either the one that was the Volkswagen looking one. (Saw it too long ago to remember the names, I love Volkswagen Bugs). Or Starscream, he was just cool.

'Star Sabre' was not from the horrid beast wars/machines series' - he was from one of the Japanese TF series; I think he was in either 'Master Force' or 'Victory'.

There were two VW Bug looking Transformers ... sort of.

There was Bumblebee and later Goldbug, who was a rebuilt Bumblebee.
