a good organic modeler is sPatch, and it exports to .POV. There is a later mor advanced version called hamaPatch, which you can find on the web. (I think it also exports to .POV) Neither of these are that great for machine looking models, but for organic looking once they are very good (plus they are free)

In addition, another popular modeler is Wings3D. While it's primarily intended for organic shapes it's better suited to inorganics than are sPatch and Hamapatch.

It's around, but it hasn't been updated in years. AFIAK the only Pov-specific modeler that's still being updated is Moray, and that's shareware rather than freeware. All the rest of them are basically dead.ClaysGhost wrote:Is POVLab still around?
