Sun Tzu ressurected vs. Thrawn

Post by The Yosemite Bear »

Both commaders know exactly what forces they control, and how to use them. They know what forces the other side has, and how they are used. The Forces at their disposal are comparable.

Who wins?

If anyone wants to know more about Sun Tzu there's an annotated translation of The Art of War available for free at Project Gutenberg.

Thrawn

Sun Tzu never actually fought a war. His leadership meathods are... crude and primative he inspires no loyaty. He may be good at writing axioms, but Thrawn would chop him into X^X peices

Considering the acutal life History of Sun Tzu is a completly mysetry(Outside of Myths and Legends) Beacuse of that I have to question your statment NecronLord

Furthermore as I said eariler to Stravo acutal when he was writing Thrawn I came up with an excellent anaolgy

Thrawn is in essance the appitomy of the Sage Commander Described by Sun Tzu

Sort of like this... Geroge Lucus is in pretty fine shape for his age, however if he had to fight a real life version of the Emperor I think he would go down hard :D

innocent until proven guilty. There is no evidence to say that he did, therefore we presume he did not.

innocent until proven guilty Necron there is no evidance to support that he was a terrible commander(The Negative) So we have to assume either he never commanded(Neutral) or he was a brillant Commander(The Positive)

Gulity is the Negative you should know that Necron

Thrawn, he's a brilliant field commander, probably the best in sci-fi. At best Sun-Tzu was an unotable officer, at worst not a commander at all. Against a full blown military genius like Thrawn he'd get his ass handed to him.

The T'ai-Kung versus Thrawn would be a good match in my mind. The T'ai-Kung was a general who wrote the Six Secret Strategies of the Way of War, which is considered to be at least the equal of the Art of War in what it teaches.

For this battle, I would have to say Thrawn if he could look at ancient Chinese artwork. If not, it would be a tossup.

Thrawn wins easily. Sun-Tzu may be the greatest strategist of all time, but he is not a tactician and, as a human, he is still subject to our faults. Thrawn has none of these problems.

Musashi wandered over Japan, becoming a legend in his own time. We find mention of his name and stories of his prowess in registers, diaries, on monuments, and in folk memory from Tokyo to Kyushu. He had more than sixty contests before he was twenty-nine, and won them all. The earliest account of his contests appears in Niten Ki, or "Two Heavens Chronicle", a record compiled by his pupils a generation after his death.
wait, theres records of him actually fighting...

There are also no listings of Niccolo Machevelli's formal debates.

however we know he was a politician, and a big fan of the Borgias.

Oh, wait it get's better.

Thanks to Islamic and Christian Zealots none of Sappho's poetry remains.

So by your standard she never wrote a line?
