What is the most uber-powered character in sci-fi?
Which flesh-and-blood person, out of all sci-fi/fantasy, is the most wankfestly, uber-powered, munchkin out there?
Flesh-and-blood, mind you. The Frank Exchange of Views and it's ilk do not count.

Yes. I've been meaning to see the movie, so if you could elaborate on his abilities without any spoilers, I'd appreciate it.

Akira has more power than God. He is to Man as Man is to an amoeba.
Akira is able to create his own universe outside of our own.
And you have to read the manga to fully understand everything.

"And besides, who cares if a monster destroys Australia?"
Yep, Akira's whole point was basically how obscenely powerful he was.
Aside from him though there are various "omnipitents" roving about like Q, and then there are the DBZ gang which are powerful toth e point of being ridiculous.
Next rung down we get various Superheroes from Marvel and DC comics plus a few odd Anime Characters Like Ryoko (from the Tenchi Muyo OAV's).
Honestly, we could list heavy hitte upon heavy hitter for hours and argure about who'd kick who's ass for years and get nowhere.
So who is the most powerful of the those included in the mortal coil of Sci-Fi?
Beats the hell out of me.

Karsus The Mad vs. Akira.
At least THIS time, the little prick won't accidentally smash the world and it's vital magic in his bid for power.
DBZ would get steamrolled by the characters wandering around here. The ability to create new dimensions and have control over Life and Death itself exceeds even their ridiculous powerlevels.

Yeah, I can just see Goku or someone from DBZ being obliterated by Oberon with a wave of his hand.SirNitram wrote:Karsus The Mad vs. Akira.

Akira or Franklin Richards at his height
Akira though I believe has the slight edge since he knows the full extent and FR only has an inkling

I was thinking more on the lines of characters in fiction and fan fiction that’s found floating around the internetSeggybop wrote:.

Akira understands what he can do...FR just sort of imagines it...with no real understanding what he's doing except sort of an instinct.

As far as I can figure, this will come down to Gods vs. Those Who Can Destroy Gods, like my Akira vs. Karsus The Mad suggestion. And it's a good quesiton.. Is it more powerful to be a god, or to be capable of destroying one?
Then again, this debate has transcended numbers and calc's.. One cannot calc the ability to create a new world.

Yeah, Akira is pretty tough...
My personal favourite, though, would be the Imortal Emperor of Mankind from 40k...
Before his mortally wounding by Horus he was pretty much a living God...the only thing that really held him back was his compassion and love...
Put simply the Emperor = the greatest psychic ever (in the 40k universe of course) His power was such that when (or if) his soul emerged fully into the Warp he would neutralise the four Chaos gods & bring harmony to the Warp...

And Oberon found a way to forbid him from destroyng the whole multiverse. That's how powerful HE is. :twisted:weemadando wrote:Fuck new worlds.
Dworkin created an infinite number of universes. Pattern, chaos, shadow blah blah blah.
Now insane and more dangerous than ever...

Blasphemy! Clearly, the most uber sci fi figure is Pikachu.

There are a few more such as the Incarinations of Imortaility in the Piers Anthony but those are all-powerful on the small Scale(Inculding Death, since he asks as the Facilitar for Death in cases where your near or closely equaly bad or good as long as he stays in balance he can't be killed as he must collect himself, But thats wining by Default not acutal wining)
