1. Locke...I just like him...so :P

2. Rikku(and she gets a bikini in FFX-2 :D )

3. Dycedarg(so he's not from a formal FF...he kicked ass in FFT)

4. FF8's intro

5. Auron, Squall, Locke. (Auron for having breaks, Squall for Lionheart, Locke for having one of the nastiest...but not THE nastiest combo in FF6)

1) Squall (the badass, detached mercenary attitude was cool as hell, too
bad he head to meet Rinoa and become a softy)

2) Celes - overcame her despair and reunited the dispersed party.

3) Kefka - no elaborating needed.

4) FFX's ending.

5) Auron, Orlandu, Sabin, Lulu.

1. Cloud
2. Rikku
3. Sephiroth ( name i gave my ISD model )
4. Tie. FFVIII intro and Lunas Funeral Dance
5. Generic Black Mage from FFI ( you should see the Wonderswan Color revamp of FFI)
Locke
Auron
Cecil (in dark armor)

also what about best music? i'd pick either the Makuro Reactor theme from FFVII or the Redwings Theme from FFIV

and even though its not Final Fantasy I think the intro to Crono Cross is worth mentioning in terms of good FMVs

1) Auron. ...Though, maybe, Vivi. I've not finished FFIX yet.

2) Rikku. She gets high explosives.

3) Kefka. No other villain comes close to the insanity.

4) A pity no one put video sequences in when they redid FFVI, right? FFX's opening, in Zanarkand. I'm still trying to find that music.

5) Wakka(World Champion, maxed stats, Attack Reels: 1.4 Million HP damage in one turn), Vivi(Black Mages Forever!), Celes(Ragnarok, Exalibur, Genji Armour, Veil, Genji Glove, Offering), Yuna(Her Summonings are best because they can shield the party).

1. Best FF Hero -- Master(FF I): The first time we fought Kraken, it was a rather tough fight. Second time, Master stepped up and pasted him in one attack to start(and finish)

2. Best FF Heroine -- Quistis(FF VIII): I don;t know why, I just like her.

3. Best Villian -- Kefka(FF VI): Nothing else comes close.

4. Best Video Sequence -- Balamb vs. Guardia Gardens(FF VIII): Particularly the part where Squall has to save Rinoa, and is battling that one soldier on the jetpack. The machine hovers upwards, with Squall and the soldier dangling from a cord. The thing crests over a wall, and you just see this massive battle going on below you. And later, when you save Rinoa, you drop down into the middle of it, and as you run off, you're just straining to take the scene all in.

Honarable Mention goes to FF Tactics. The game has a grand total of maybe one CG scene, but the rest of the story is told in game sprites. The most amazing thing is that when a character does anything, from killing someone, to picking up grass and playing a reed flute, the sprite does the action completely. One scene that always got my was right before one battle, when they show a normal Male Thief talking with a Church official, and he takes a job to kill a bunch of heretics. When he finds out that the "heretics" in question is you and your group, he actually throws his hat to the ground in disgust, saying that he should've asked for more money.

1. Best FF Hero
T.G. Cid Would you like your asshole medium, or well done?

2. Best FF Heroine
Areith. Sacrificed herself to save the planet.

3. Best Villian
Kefka. Insanity is interesting, utter insanity is cool.

4. Best Video Sequence
The scene in FFVII when you see the train circle around a pillar. It just fit the mood perfectly.

5. Who would you pick for your Best of FF party to go out and kick everyone's asses.
Cloud, Areith, and Tifa. Let's face it, Materia Combos Kill, often before the opponent has a chance to make a move.

Question: What size party are we allowed to have?

The smallest is most of the PS FFs, with only about three in the party.

FF Tactics has five, which is the most on one screen, but you pick those fighters out of a party of 16-20 total.

I'd say four, the amount for the originals, and FFIX and X.

1. Ramza Beoulve. Can learn almost ANYTHING, and can kick some serious ass. Ultima + Zodiac = crispy enemy.

2. White Mage . Or Meliadoul, since her attacks destroy the enemy's weapons and armor (can you tell I'm an FFT freak?)

3. Chaos, from FF1.

4. Haven't seen that many vid sequences.

5. Assuming the four-person limit, Ramza, TG Cid, Cloud, and Worker 8. If I can add a fifth person, those four plus Meliadoul.

I'm going to have to retract my statement claiming that Celes is the best FF heroine. It's Lulu, because I like when she bends down after winning a fight. :D

1. Squall. Especailly KHSquall (who looks a lot like Laguna, and talks a bit like Angel).

2. Rikku-2 (FFX-2). It's ALMOST possible she could be wearing less, but it would probably be banned.

3. Got to be Sephiroth. Really. Kefka was a loony who acieved godlike power out of an accident of petty spite, Sephiroth just wanted the godlike power. None of the otehr gameshave had proper 'villains'.

4. In no particular order - FFVII Intro, FFVIII Intro, FFX Intro, Assault on Bevelle, FFVIII ending.

5. Wakka, Tidus, and Yuna (Anima/Magus Sisters). The absolute in hurting everyone.

1. Guy with the Gunblade in FF8.
2. Aerius from FFVII.
3. Sephiroth from FFVII. He had the most style :)
4. Toss up between where Aerius gets killed by Sephie, and the one in FFX, where the guy (Blitzball player, forgot his name) and Yuna are on the ship. The guy has binoculars, and uses it to start at Yuna, and when she just waves at him, he quickly alters his view... Hehe.
5. Vincent from FFXII.

1. Best FF Hero: BM! The orginal, mutha fugga.

2. Best FF Heroine: Lenna, Image AS A FEMALE BM!

3. Best Villian : Kefka, one evil fucka.

4. Best Video Sequence : Haven't played past FF6 so I'll say the siren scene from FF5, cool foreshadowing and cool way around the sirens powers.

5. Who would you pick for your Best of FF party to go out and kick everyone's asses. BM-BM-BM-BM!!!!!!!!!!

But seriously Sabin, Shadow, BM, and probly a properly trained FF5 Fighter with summons and X-attack and duel wield.

Well, given that I've only really played 4, 5 and 6...here's one from a different point of view. I'm also counting Chrono Trigger since it technically is a FF game (it was in Final Fantasy Chronology) and it gives me more of a choice :)

1. Cyan. Knight of Doma, his home and family destroyed, and fighting for justice, not just vengeance.

2. Either Celes or Terra. Hard choice...

3. Definitely Kefka, though Magus comes close because of the sheer coolness factor.

4. Well, the FF games I've played didn't really have FMV...but I'd say the ending to FF6. That was just sweet.

5. I'm going with a party of four...and I'd probably choose Crono, Cyan, Ayla and Cecil.

1. Cyan. Magus if you include CT.
2. Tie between Rydia, Celes, Terra, and Aeris. Tie extends to Lucca and Marle if you include CT, and Orlha and Kid if CC is also included.
3. KEFKA! With X-Death (FFV) and Sephiroth in second and third respectively, and Lynx behind X-Death if you include the CT and CC games.
4. Hmm.... going by FMVs only, well, damn..... I suppose the FFVII vid at the crater when mesmerized Cloud gives Seppy the Black Materia and when the Highwind is lifting off and we see all the Weapons being released. If CC and CT is included, the anime sequence of Frog drawing the Masamune and opening the way to the Magic Cave.
Including story sequences from the SNES games, I'd have to include the ending to all three SNES games plus the end of the World of Balance portion of FFVI. Watching Kefka fuck up the world was just completely sweet.
5.
FFs only:
Shadow, Cyan, Rydia, and Kain. With either Cyan or Shadow having learned the Cure spells, the Life spells, and Remedy via Espers.

CT as well:
Preferred Party #1: Shadow, Cyan, Rydia, and Magus. Dark Matter motha fugga!

Preferred Party #2: Cyan, Crono, Rydia, and Sabin.

Preferred Party #3: Rydia, Reina/Lenna (FFV), Terra, Marle, Orlha.... oh, sorry, wrong party idea, you want "combat party", not "invitees to bedroom party". 8)

I love CT as much as the next guy, and though it may have been included with Chronicles, it just is not a FF game, even technically.

I dunno Moonshadow...since he did request only FF...it seems we should at least follow those lines.

I mean for Square in general...I prefer most of Vagrant Story over a few FF's

Yeah, I am a confirmed Square Addict.

I just limited it to Final Fantasy, as it is the best known Square universe RPG.
