Captain Power & Co versus Stormtroopers

Post by Vympel »

Anyone remember this 80s show? I can hardly remember it except for its corny dialog and Starscream esque villain ....

What the FUCK ... JMS was the story consultant for Captain Power and was responsible for the story arc-

one of the characters was from a place called Babylon 5. I am not kididng.

Captain Power wins. Storm Troopers are too busy laughing their asses off at his suit.

Those dudes where cool as fuck. I had the plane that you shot at the TV. As far as them taking on stormtroopers, i guess it depends on how many, location, and how much power Power and co has for the power armor(whew!) If they have unlimited power supplies and there facing a group of about 10-15 troopers, them may have a chance. Any more and they are definate causlties for the Power Co. Im guessing that chick goes first cuz her armor was pretty crap. I'm guessing Tank, Pilot(I think thats his name ) will be the last to go. Tank cuz he was built like a brick shit house, and Pilot is in the air.

Pilot was the chick. Hawk was the flying dude.

Ok time to clean up the scenario

Captain Power & Co versus a pair of AT-ATs and a company of stormtroopers :)

Result- stormtroopers die laughing :)

Riiiiiiiight, forgot. I think i was 11 the last time i saw that show. AT-AT goes stompy stompy on power crew. And if that Sauron dude tries to show up to 'digitize' people, all the troopers gotta do is aim for the big glowing spot in the middle of his chest.

Isn't that Sauron guy pretty much invincible? Like I saw this one episode where it took an incoming piece of scrap from orbit to blow him up ...

I dont know, he was pretty tough and from what i remember everyone avoided him like the plague. Just makes me wonder what a tough thing like that guy see's in teaming up with that old gezzer in the super electo-chair type thing, cant remember his name. That Sauron dude usta go around and digitize people and never really seemed to do anything with them most of the time. I remember that one ep where Power's old girlfriend was digitized by Sauron years ago and was somehow able to get out, remebering every moment of being inside Sauron. Kinda scary when you think of it.

Don't forget Scout. Given Scout, Hawk, Pilot, Captain Power, and a couple PowerJet XJ-7s, they should be able to take out at least a small squad of stormtroopers and AT-ATs. After all, they're invincible when shooting :P .

No one else seems to have heard of Cpt Power.

Surprising. Actually it's surprising that I heard of it and saw a few episodes, as it was never out in Australia. I watched it on VHS when I was younger.

I've heard of it, but I never actually seen it. I was way too young to have remembered it. Do you know how long of a run it had?

Only a single season. Despite all the claims to the contrary- it was a massive toy marketing scheme and nothing else- toy sales weren't as high as hoped for so the show was cancelled. JMS didn't want anything more to do with it apparently- too much marketing.

There were also four interactive videos that worked with the toys. I used to have the videos (not sure if I still do), and I still have the PowerJet, the Phantom, the little thing that gave the armor, and the flak cannon :D . I am not a pack rat, I'm a collector.

She got out because they wanted to use her as bait, and told her that if he didn't cooperate in fooling Captain Powah they would digitize her back (apparently it's quite an annoying experience, I must say)

That's the reason why all the evil guys and ships in the show had that lame glowing effect, because the toys (sort of like light-guns in a Nintendo) recognized them as valid targets.
