The Yuuzahn Vong vs. the Asgard
The Yuuzahn Vong have found a rift that opens into our space and they have encountered the Asgard from Stargate SG-1. The Vong decide that the Asgard embrace technology and since they are not like the Yuuzahn Vong, the Asgard must either be forced to join or they are to be destroyed.
The Yuuzahn Vong then attack the Asgard and a war ensues.
Who would win?

the asgard fly from their galaxy to ours in hours if not minutes. Theyre capital ships can literally deconstruct other capitals ship in seconds by using teleporters (which are far more reliable then Trek ones). They can communicate real time with other galaxies and hold teleconferences. They can transfer minds into computers and back into bodies. The list goes on. The Vong would fall in seconds.

It should be noted that "Unnatural Selection" has not aired yet so a spoiler warning should have been placed in that post if indeed it was an excerpt from the episode.

Unnatural Selection is the first episode in the second half of season 6, correct? Well, you know that Scifi channel splits its shows in half so that they air off-season so those of us in the US have to wait several months to see the rest of the season, so if it is the first ep in the last half of the season then no it hasn't aired yet.NecronLord wrote:yes it has.Vertigo1 wrote:It should be noted that "Unnatural Selection" has not aired yet so a spoiler warning should have been placed in that post if indeed it was an excerpt from the episode.

Seriously though, you should've taken that into consideration since not everyone lives outside the US. Not everyone reads Stargate rumors or sneek peaks ya know. Try using a little thing called courtesy next time.

I used to contribute the odd thing to unjoh back before it was absorbed by the " collective known as TFN. So I know quite a bit about them. The vong have some power, but it is largly power in numbers. They loose.Darth_Nader wrote:please go to this site http://www.theforce.net/books/unjoh/dat ... rts-V.hthl

Uhuh. Tell you what, why don't you list for me everything you know about the Asgard then. You know, to demonstrate that for once you know what you are talking about.Darth_Nader wrote:the weapons of the Vong are to strong for the Asgard.

The eraser beam was originally going to work in a way similar (though less sadistic) to the Necron Gauss weaponary. As it is it seems to be uber NDF. Very good on biologics and even good on armour.

Nader, you're saying that a race that can screw around with time, and destroy entire star SYSTEMS is weaker than a race that makes their ships out of coral and fire molten rock "missiles" and fart plasma from their capital ships? Excuse me for a minute.... *snickers*
*sounds of extreme laughter echo from a room down the hall*
There, I'm all better now. I just had to get that out of my system.

--they are at war with the replicaters--
Yep. Tho from SOMEONES stupid spoiler about an episode which hasn't even been MADE yet, it seems they defeat the replicators.
--they are the only race thats is more powerful than than the gao'old (sp?)--
Not true. The standard Goa'uld have been defeated by the Tollan (however, in the most recent Tollana episode the planet is overrun by Anubis). The Tollan even GAVE some of their best weapons (which can destroy Goauld ships from planetside) to Earth, unless the shipment was cut short.
Another example would be the Nox, who have defeated the Goauld's attempts to find them numerous times. The Nox have the ability to cloak themselves as well as entire FLOATING CITIES.
The League of Races (which is made up of the Ancients, Nox, Furlings, and Asgard) is easilly capable of destroying the Goauld, however we have only seen the Asgard and Nox. The other two are unknown, but the Ancients created the stargate network (the Goauld can't create stargates AFAIK) and made things sch as fucked up time travel devices, etc.
Another power capable of fucking with the Goauld are the Rheetouh which are incapable of being used as hosts and are natural invisible to humans. The race that Oma Desala comes from is capable of manipulating nature, can form human bodies etc, can make stargates work or not with a thought, and they known quite alot about various technologies capable of destroying the Goauld.
--thay have few ships availble because of fighting--
True. Most of their ships are tied up engaging the Replicators. Tho they always seem to be able to spare a few.
--they have impressive firepower on board ships--
They have impressive firepower regardless. A single Asgard ship is capable of deconstructing 3+ pyramid ships using teleporters alone. Unknown on their actual firepower, but the Tollan have ground based weapons capable of destroying or disabling Goauld ships, and the Tollan are nowhere near as powerful as the Asgard, who think nothing of the Goauld, atleast when they're not preoccupied with the Replicators.
