After rediscovering Dr. Who recently, something occured to me.
The "salt shakers from hell" aka the Daleks have not been subjected to any serious analysis. Considering the implications of the source materials could provide a gold mine of conversation material.
I'm rewatching some of the episodes again to refamiliarize myself. Anyone want to have a go at it?

Certainly, the "pepper pots from hell" are my second fave villans on Dr. Who, superceded only by the original Borg, the Cybermen
Ive been a Dr. Who fan since I was in the 5th grade, and I've actually read , at least once, all the novelizations of the television shows and watched all available episodes(Short of "Shada" which I heard was tripe anyway) of the show.

It's very hard to do so as they change over time.

Oh look! A flight of STAIRS!
They can Hover. They were able to do so since the episodes in the 1960's.

If you actually wanted to analyse the Daleks the best episode(story) to do would probably be Rememberance of the Daleks, as it was their most recent appearance. (they did not actually appear in the 96 movie IIRC)
In rememberance a Dalek Timeship is repetedly stated as being able to "Crack this planet (earth) like an egg. This, going by Mike's Death Star Page. Establishes an upper limit of 2.2E32j. After that point the vessel would totally destroy the planet. The cruiser has the same region of Firepower as an Eclipse class Super Star Destroyer. Not bad at all for a 400 Dalek vessel.
The bridge of the ship. We only ever saw three daleks (excluding Davros) on the bridge, I might add that it is realistically cramped.
For the fuel density of a dalek vessel we can use this shuttle.
That is of course a CGI image, but it is scaled correctly. This shuttle carried five daleks (one piloting it) and had "Massive ground defencese" according to the Doctor.
One thing that is striking about the Daleks is that they have a frankly appalling field of fire from their guns. However they have been seen to offset their weapons fire.
more to come.
