How Long Until Star Trek Dies?

Post by Uraniun235 »

How long do you think it will be before Star Trek degenerates to the point where it can't even make a profit anymore?

And, for shits and giggles, what extremes do you see B&B going to in a desperate effort to keep their cash cow alive?

How long? Too long for it to be a gracious exit.

I voted 1-3 years. I'm sure they'll do lots of blooper stuff, fucked up Fox specials ("When Klingons Attack III!" or "Reality TV: Star Trek"), and other not-so-hilarious outtakes. Hell maybe even a softcore porno.

It is already far past that point. They needed to wrap it up when the screen went dark on "All Good Things". But it's now far, far too late for the Franchise to make anything remotely resembling a graceful exit anymore. It can only either crash and burn or rot before everybody'e eyes.

We have seen the last movie and it has perhaps two weeks of life left at best. Enterprise will be dead by the end of its next season if not before.

We live in an area where "proven brand recognition" is considered a bankable asset. Star Trek will continue to lurch on, sucking money out of the zombies who have become too attached to it to step back and see what kind of a whore it has become.

Crash and burn? How would that differ from the rotting away?

My hope is that Enterprise will kill it thanks to Berman and Braga killing continuity so much. Nemesis is certainly destroying the traditional fan base, and the quality won't build a new one.

Of course, it may take a Doctor Who imitation show set in the Star Trek universe or somesuch disaster to finish it off. Regardless, I'm not watching, and so I don't very much care.

Sadly given the sheer inanity behind many fans, this poor dead horse will move along zombie like with people still saying it can get better.

If you guys ever saw that documentry "Trekkies" you will know that this franchise will go on and on and on....it will not die but instead will mindlessly devour more brains of the trekkies that will refuse to recognize that this franchise died creatively a LONG time ago.

No matter which option I choose, it will be too long. Star Trek had it's days in the sun, let it wither and die now.

It's already dead; it's now a staggering corpse lurching along devoouring the brains of trek-tards. This abomination will continue for a long time thanks to the brand name and rabid-idiot fans.

Trek is a Zombie, it's already dead, it lurches on, and it eats people's brains....

Trek: "Brains...Brains...Brains..."
ISARMA: Daikaiju Coordinator: Just Add Radiation
Justice League- Molly Hayes: Respect Hats or Freakin' Else!
Browncoat
Supernatural Taisen - "[This Story] is essentially "Wouldn't it be awesome if this happened?" Followed by explosions."

I gave it a few years, perhaps to revive trek, B & B will have a series about a Vulcan, a Klingon, a Cardassian and a Ferengi who all hang around a coffee shop.
