Stargate's Promethious
Is this ship well designed, or is it one of those ships that looks cool but would suck in real life.
It is the X-303, the episode is named Prometheus. We know very little about the X-303: it is capable of up to .5c sublight (with pretty good acceleration based on its time to orbit), it has a hyperdrive in the 600LY/hr range, it can carry a few fighters, and it is not complete. We know it is in the 200m range.
Howedar is no longer here. Need to talk to him? Talk to Pick.
Surface to Orbit in 30 seconds (better then starwars fighters given its size and shape:))
And I believe the range of the hyperdrive was 1600 ly not 600.
Going by the size of a Deathglider in comparison, i'd say the ships ranges from 200-500m in length. The death gliders are more 20 feet across (they cant fit through the gate and the gate is roughly 20 feet in diameter). Compared, the prometheus looked about 50-100 times a DGs wingspan. 100x at most, tho 50 seems more likely. Lower is easilly possibly because there are various ways IRL to make distant objects seem larger in comparison to nearer objects thanks to lenses. Ill download the episode to get appropriate scaling.
Anyone know about the X303's weapons? Those of you gate watchers in england might be of aid here, if the ship used weapons in the next episode.

We should know alot more about it on Friday January 10th. Sci Fi starts the new season of SG-1 on that day, and the cliff hanger episode, featuring the X-303, will be on. (Along with the first episode of new season of Farscape). I think SG-1 will be on at 9 EST, feel free to correct me if im wrong.
The only thing that we know about the ship at this point is its speed, and that is supose to carry several fighters.

[nitpick] It's not a new season. It's the last half of the current season.BlkbrryTheGreat wrote:We should know alot more about it on Friday January 10th.
