Let me give you a hand with that, Gil.
Pain, or damage, don't end the world, or despair, or fuckin' beatin's. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, ya got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man ... and give some back.

That's what, three votes changed from VI to ban? That changes the total to 19-4-0-0-1-0 as of when I made this post.
Any city gets what it admires, will pay for, and, ultimately, deserves…We want and deserve tin-can architecture in a tinhorn culture. ACtually, despite what a great many people say, I don't see him as precisely as worthless as Darkstar or some of the other idiots that have been on here. Nor deliberately dishonest. I've seen him debating (and argued with him, quite angrily in fact.) over at SB, and I've watched him debate. He's improved (alot) over there, and he's rarely if ever taken the "Rabid Trekkie trying to knock down Wars" attitude, nor does he employ the sort of moronic logic that Darkstar and his cronies like (In point of fact, he's done quite the opposite - he's argued with Scooter's cocsucking lackeys on more than one occasion, rather than agreeing with him.) Vympel, I think, could back me up on this.
That said, I am not saying that there ARE problems with him and how he debates. His tendency to persistantly argue repeatedly with and over issues above his head, and his tendency to persistantly ask the same essential point in different ways (The "well what if this way") and the sometmies attitude that its all kind of a "point of view" are exceedingly frustrating (and I've gotten exceedingly pissed off at myself at him before for his logic and positions) but as I said, he'd improved.
However, I dont think he improved enough that he could really "make" it on this site. To be honest, he's lasted longer than I suspected. I though he'd have gone long before, and his actions (while tolerated more on SB perhaps) don't work well here (just like Alyeska, I expected this.)
I think he has potentail to be a half decent analyst/debator. But for some reason that eludes me, he continuest o persist in this behaviour which pisses other people off. I'd suggest just ignoring him, but I guess that's not an option. Nonetheless, I'm going to say, "nothing." and hope he can come back in the future if and when he improves (And I honestly think he could.) I genuinely don't suspect him of having an ulterior motive in any of thise (again, unlike Scooter's idiots) but if he stays the situation will just get worse, i suspect.
vivftp if you're reading this, I suggest you take this as more of a learning experience and not take it personally.
Edit: and yeah, I can admit, despite getting pissed off at him, i kinda like the guy. Which makes it hard for me to vote ban or title. Besides, its not as if I'm casting a tie breaking vote or anythnig.

It's bad enough that he doesn't know subjects before leaping into debates that involve them, it's bad enough that he is not interested in learning those subjects, it's bad enough that he persists in asking the same stupid questions over and over because he doesn't understand the rebuttals and doesn't care to learn.
But the last straw was him basically stating that he is not even embarrassed about his own ignorance. He proudly states right up-front that he doesn't care about learning the material, yet he refuses to accept correction from the people who do care about learning the material and have put in the time and effort to do so. He's like the precocious creationist who argues with his science teacher and who challenges the teacher to make him understand evolution against his will.

BUMP: We seem to have a quorom of people who have voted, and the vote count has remained stable for a week now. Three people are on record as having officially voted for something other than "Ban" only to change their minds later.
So, with that in mind, the count looks like 70% in favor of banning and 30% in favor of doing something else. So unless some stragglers decide to come in and vote, I think it's time we packed this guy off on the next train out.

I'll second GrandMasterTerwynn's implied motion.
A Government founded upon justice, and recognizing the equal rights of all men; claiming higher authority for existence, or sanction for its laws, that nature, reason, and the regularly ascertained will of the people; steadily refusing to put its sword and purse in the service of any religious creed or family is a standing offense to most of the Governments of the world, and to some narrow and bigoted people among ourselves.
