Did you see the part where he admitted that he gets off on trying to incite board wars, and how he planned to disrupt this place and then move on to the next target? We give newbies a chance, but he made it very clear that he did not deserve one.The Yosemite Bear wrote:Grrr, Pointless threads but I try and give newbies a chance.

Yes, like me! I know nothing of science, and I have posted some fairly useless threads in OT (well, useless in the sense that it's hardly a serious topic, but then, so was organ size...), and I'm still here!Darth Wong wrote:Did you see the part where he admitted that he gets off on trying to incite board wars, and how he planned to disrupt this place and then move on to the next target? Though, granted, I don't try and pretend I know anything about science, or the debate. I just read Wong's site, Poe's site, and Anderson's site. And guess who I believed?
Anyway, this had no point. Just wanted to express my continued newbieness, and try to get my mind off a rather large RL problem (go find my "Lovelorn Soul" thread in OT to read about it).

I think he just got mad that ya'll wouldn't take part in his idiotic flame-fests against trek. Numerous times he just stated stuff like 'Why doesn't the empire just send a thousand star destroyers to earth and blow it up?' and crap like that.
He saw that, while a tad one sided occasionally, no one ever delved that far into the abyss of stupidity. I mean, what is the point of debating or discussing something like the crap he wrote?
Bah, flamer/troller/generalized garden variety idiot...

Exactly. The guy was a piece of shit. All he did was say things like "Hey, guys, I thought of a great new strategy for destroying the UFP. All the Empire would need to do would be to send a DS to start shooting," or "Man those stormies are GREAT soldiers," or "Okay, this is how the Empire could conquer the UFP using 1000 ISD's." His posts said nothing, and were all re-hashes of things that had been done long before (and done much better).NF_Utvol wrote:I think he just got mad that ya'll wouldn't take part in his idiotic flame-fests against trek. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."

So he was pissed off that the invasion wasn't actually taking place? Gosh, we should start sending our letters to the Emperor, maybe he'll humor usNF_Utvol wrote:I think he just got mad that ya'll wouldn't take part in his idiotic flame-fests against trek. I mean, as a troll/flamer, this guy really was pathetic. It's not like he was subtle about it.

But I was also stating my general rule (give anyone a chance when they show they really have no intentions of doing anything get rid of them.

Holy fuck! That was an easy ban. Granted, even though I felt some sympathy at first, he was a pain in the ass. He professed to want flame wars, but he didn't even really start any. This is by no means a Trekkie haven, so threads like "The Empire could send 5E200 ships in and destroy the Federation" are completely useless since the only reaction he got was "yup they could, next topic..."

The gift of Superman is the same in his universe as ours. It's not about his powers, his costume, his persona, it's about the using the gifts he has to help people. We all have gifts too, maybe we can't leap tall buildings in a single bound, but maybe we're good with math, maybe we're charming. We can use our gifts -whatever they are- to help people. We just need to make that choice. And Superman shows us that it's possible.
