Nice to be able to operate the craft in mission-critical environments even versus advanced foes.

For example: Wilkonia bitchslaps the Caymans with large ships fitted with SM-2 missiles. Intruders into the battlezone can be subject to accidental downings, and a drone is by no means secure from that. Something with over 30 km ceiling and a large speed is more secure.
Except that I am not using SM-2 any more :D I'm selling them off or putting them in temporary AD stations but almost all of my ships are now equipped with SM-4s in multiple variants (including both ASAT and ABM variants that are gonna be able to hit anything under about 400km ceiling) So trying to push a manned plane over a Wilkonian battlegroup doesn't really help you much since my missile can course correct faster than your pilot can given the high-G force loads at that speed.

So yeah ceiling and speed make things harder...but that is why we have hardware. Hardware I'm not selling you :D.

Quite the blowout indeed. You set a high standard for Canissia, the USSR, Byzantium and Shroomania to follow.

They're trained professionals. Plus, we'll remove the lifelines so anyone who is so overcome that they can't help it can indeed fall over laughing...overboard, that is. :P

Ok, we'll keep the lifelines. Otherwise I'll lose the whole crew to going overboard. Maybe they'll sing it in non-English?

Does anybody have any objections to Miratia developing air-launched missiles that can be mounted on the external hardpoints of a stealth aircraft without significantly affecting its radar signature?

Message From: The Vinish Wilderness Survey Earlesi Office

The VWS would like to expand the Earlesi borders to match a river running along the far south of the Earesi territory, and would like these new borders to be recognized by the neighbouring nations.
Now hang on just one minute; you people told me that was all San Doradoan territory.

So yes, I do take issue, as I wanted to expand some of my own territory to the coastline, so that I could have ocean access without having to rely on a river. I would have done this ages ago, had I known that it was still wilderness.

Except from the fact that any external mounted weapons would still significantly affect RCS no matter what one does, none

No, my territory is to the north of the Orizaco (the big river leading from the two inner jungle lakes to the Orizaco Bay). The Commonwealth has staked out some claims to the south of the Orizaco; I have no idea where this river of his is supposed to run; you could quite conceivably team up with NPC-nation Tanstaafl (brown-ish, just south of my borders) and develop the jungle immediately to your north. I'd be more than happy to help you build a harbor there - it'd be great for commerce.

They are dual(uh, triple) use missiles, I believe.

Who the hell would use ABM missiles - geared for extreme altitude and very low envelope and range - for intercept of agile aircraft? I mean... not even Russia which is heavily investing in SAM missiles, does that, and the best SAM systems are defined by an ability to combine ABM, long- and mid-range SAMs - not dispose of some element in favour of the other. Quite simply, look at the envelope of various S-300 missiles, ABM and SAM envelopes of different missiles are clearly defined.

If someone believes he can design an ABM missile which simultaneously works as a SAM at a considerable range and a wide envelope of altitudes, is either delusional or needs to be given a Nobel prize for his "Unviersal Missile" TM.

Four.

Well, Soyuz 1 mission goals were all met save one (recovery practice), so it was almost a success :D

How about you roll for Soyuz 2? I used a D100 with a 1% chance of a catastrophic failure (due to all the redesigns), and rolled 100. Maybe you'll just have a better hand :P

I operate a full suite of SAMs ABM and ASAT (thus I said SM-4 inlcuding ABM and ASAT). The SM-4 SAM is essentially an upgraded SM-2 ER with better rnage, a supplemental terminal guidance element and a better first stage launch for longer range. Better performance details are found in the New Horizons updates which have been detailing SM-4 family performance for some time but briefly SM-4 is the SAM, SM-4A is the ABM, SM-4B is the ASAT and (when it is fully certified) the SM-4C will be a KEI.

That's pretty well exactly what I wanted to do. I'd claim a (relatively, it would probably end up being 100-200 km wide) narrow bit of territory along their border and develop a high-traffic line along it plus a port town at the other end. Of course, it is dense jungle (if I'm not mistaken) and there will be issues because of that, but that's nothing some construction crews can't fix.
Karmic Knight wrote:For the record, here is my current border with the proposal as a larger line.

Ah, well, no issue there. We can work with that.

I wanted to take control of the white area, myself. I'll move that vertical line a bit, though, and turn it away from the territory you wanted so they don't overlap. Sound good?

Labour is cheap on Frequesue, so it shouldn't be too much of a hassle (relatively speaking) to get the necessary crews together and get crackin' at some land-clearing. PS: San Dorado and Shroomania build these for just such a purpose- any interest? ;)
