See my last post in the thread? I've got wheels turning in wheels with my SSANs They're HUEG for another reason -- sit around for a year, and hit everyone when nobody expects it!

This all goes back to like July, when Skimmer and me were tossing around ideas. We discussed bastion strategy, and building giant submarine pens in some Alaskan wilderness...

I have actually the newer Eurofighter Typhoon Tranch IV. It's not an upgrade but rather a radical revision of the basic aircraft. Basically with conformal fuel tanks/FAST packs, an uprated engine and strengthened airframe and full air to ground abilities. For ASW there's the Tu-142BM aircraft, which can fire supersonic missiles.
I would be interested in purchasing 12, name your price
For Tu-142 BM, the Byzantine variant, I'd put it down to 50 million each, since their electronics are updated, while the Typhoon Tranche IV are 60 million each.

Thank you. Thats most of the airforce done by now.

Would you say 12 billion budget for defence is too much for a Duchy btw?

What's the size of your economy again? Anyhow, you don't really need to spend too much, so long as you keep a low profile.

Subs ain't my only secret failsafe. I think about now, the first of my merchantmen I contracted with Japanistan are in service. I started that program after reading about the MLF program in the Natinonal Archives early this month.

Course, they're not carrying Polaris SLBMs, but they're far far far more effective than Norseman's crude lashup of balloons

The Pzh2000 is far newer, faster on roads, has a state-of-the-art automatic fire control system, can go over vertical walls of up to 0.7 meters, fire three rounds in nine seconds and it is made on the Old Continent, which means you get them by rail in four days rather than by sea in six weeks, and our specialists can go over to your place and train your people way faster, too.

On the Continental Defence Plan, it is an initiative which requires integration of data sharing systems, command and control, missiles, operating procedures etc. for all continental air defence systems, so that we can defend against attack as a one, massive block.

It also means deployment of new weapon systems like the Canissian THEL

Assume a package containing the above was sent to your guys.

That's exactly what my ships are. Full of secret tubes for SS-26s.

The original concept was to sail close to a MESS CVBG, and then spam Igo-26s on nearly flat trajectories -- no one would suspsect a merchantman!

With all due respect, but do we even have nukes that will fit on such (relatively) small missiles?

Yes we do. Stas asked me a few pages back about putting them at Crete.

This is taking things a bit further.

I'm wondering as well :D

And since the warheads were miniaturized enough to fit on the Iskander, I am so equipping the Yer Moms with it instead of the pussy ass chemical weapons. I guess I will have to figure out what sort of nuclear firepower PeZookia has by now...

To avoid getting our lands reduced to glass, I say our deterrents should be sub-based, like the UK.

Of course. I'm aiming for a total of 27 Yer Moms, allowing me to keep nine on constant patrol. That gives us a total of 1300 tomahawk-style missiles or around 500 heavier supersonic cruise missiles. Then we can put a base on the moon for a superlastchance strike (it's useless for first strike, since the missile will take days to arrive) and/or weaponize a near earth asteroid as a final "FUCK YOU" :P

What type is it again?

Oh and I will probably be setting up deterents as I am not so keen on my peaceful little island getting wrecked. I need more subs.....
