I informed all SNC dudes of my plan, so they knew about it.

I also told Marina about it, and she said "go for it, if you can get away with it".

Looks to me like I got away with it. :D
This is why Indhopal doesn't like the ways of the old continent  . Our response will be forth coming shortly.

Heh...look like we'll need to impose a blockade of Sjenska and Rohanese ports for some time.

And yeah, my people will be going apeshit over it all. Pity I don't have time to type out game posts right now, which only means I wil have to catch up in one massive game post incorporating domestic affairs, the pro-CSR PR campaign, FASTA and The War :D

Byzantium stays as a neutral observer to all this.

Though in our opinion, we fail to see why people are minding our business, when in Byzantium's opinion, it helps to secure our border and thus we have less trouble to care about.

And leaves me free to redeploy one legion elsewhere.

As for me and the MESS, one would have noticed that I declared neutrality with regards to the MESS-Shep conflict.

That, and we regard smugglers on the same level as pirates; shoot to kill. Summary executions, not required.

BTW, Skimmer, nobody's ingored your offer. In fact, it was discussed extensively in the comment thread and PMs.

...we just don't trust Japanistan much. :P

As for the SNC being de facto parts of the MESS...yeah. Sure. Whatever. I guess that's why Stas sent his carriers to pick on Shepistan the moment Lonestar was attacked.

Man, you people just can't give the Little Guy a break, can you? That poor Shepistani captain is just struggling to get by! :D

Perhaps the smugglers could get in touch with Shroompeace and buy a sub from the same place those whaler activists got theirs... Running guns into the country from beneath the waves!

Shroompeace, upon learning of their attack on Shepistani/Japanistan vessels, was listed as an enemy of the state, and thereby to be terminated, when the opportunity arises.

We take a dim view of piracy, because of the heavy reliance of sea trade.

No nonsense approach towards attacks on our trade by privateers is to serve as a warning to any petty pirate who thinks he can get away with smuggling, or piracy.

Also, I think it's time I do what the French did; blow up a Shroompeace ship in Shroomanian port.

I was going to have Eutopia develop a Cargo Sub, but I never really took the time to look up whether it was feasible idea.

If it's feasible enough for Colombian drug smugglers, it's feasible enough for me!
RogueIce wrote:I wouldn't be surprised if, after that Greenpeace sub and now Shep's SSANs, any unidentified sub contact is considered fair game for sinking.
I guess so, but on the other hand, like Shep said earlier subs don't broadcast IFF signals (or much of anything else for that matter). Would you really want to let fly the ASROC and risk accidentally sinking a CSR sub instead of a Shroompeace or smuggler sub? Quite the potential for international mayhem right there...

Prove that it was your sub. :P

Anyway, I edited it out, so you replied to nothing. Ha ha! :P

Quite frankly, any submarine not broadcasting any signals or responding to any contact, can be treated as an incursion/act of war, and simply destroyed.

Especially when there are specific laws of the sea here.

It is feasible, as indeed it has been done IRL. Whether or not it is cost-effective is an entirely different matter.

Sure, when it's sitting inside your territorial waters, but when it's out in international water a submarine isn't insofar as I know obliged to do anything like broadcasting signals or responding to them.

(And even then, I personally wouldn't want to start blasting right away when that sonar contact might still be a CSR or Japanistani sub that's veered slightly off-course.)

If the sub in question is in international waters, nothing can be done.

Unless it attacks someone in local waters, then that itself raises problems, like an act of war.

Why use an ASROC? The Canissians trailed this sub (presumably to its base), so just bomb it to cinders/send in the Evil Greek Frogmen to blow it up.

Cool amphibious special operation ahoy! Greek frogmen knifing guards in the dark! Shroompeace activists watching in horror as their widdle sub is made to explode!

And Rogue, I was wondering if you'd ask about Kamila :D I even made it a plot point in the beginning.
