Wait. Shroompeace is operating the Steve Shroomwin in Shroomanian ports? Damn them! :P

I don't get it. Why would the Byzantiums sink the Shroomwin? Shroompeace has done nothing to Byzantine interests and Byzantium in general. Hell, it was last sighted near Velaria, wasn't it?

No, I think they have an illegal port somewhere. Seriously: they simply wouldn't be able to operate an armed submarine out of official ports.

Because it's a rogue submarine armed with torpedoes, and it showed willingness to kill innocent whalers wholesale?

Next time, they'll torpedo an oil tanker.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SIEGE

EDIT:

Oh, and about FASTA and who gets to be the first man in space...

The Crimson Star Republic already builds our rockets. Byzantium owns the launch pads. Those are already two prestiges the two major contributing nations have.

Shroomania also contributes shitloads of monies, a major share. So... maybe we ought to have some honors as well! ;)

:) It was clear from the get-go that the ambassador wasn't interested in actually accomplising anything. His proposal would mean we officially acknowledge that he's in charge of the AFSR whilst it doesn't gain us anything. And even worse, we'd have to collectively take it up the ass in the name of 'neutrality' each time some imperialist with a fleet to spare comes along to stake out a piece of Frequesuan coastline real estate. Well, that's not what I went to Cascadia for.

The hell?

You asked for neutrality, but instead demanded a full demilitarization of our military base! Just at the point when Zorin asked just why the hell you think we should demilitarize, meaning "WHAT DO WE GET IN RETURN" ;) you further insult him by stating you don't even recognize the military base and the territory hosting it as CSR territory?

Why the hell did you even call us then, if you don't acknowledge that as CSR land? If it's "occupied territory", go ahead, and liberate it from the oh-so-evil occupier

It's not riots yet, and I am being a bit melodramatic: I'm just worried i'll fuck up the reaction to the crisis and piss off the people even more. At this point, there is little actual risk of actual revolution.

Oh, and needless to remind you, FTO guys, that you forced my hand by pushing my Navy out of PRSF during the war, then doing nothing as Beowulf slaughtered it's Navy.

And you cheered him and his colonial little pet all down the road, so your credit rating is "junk" and you have reached the limit of trust the CSR might have ever had a looong time ago.

Of course we don't recognize the AFSR as CSR territory. You waltzed in with a fleet, deposed the people in charge, and installed your own loyal puppets. And we're supposed to acknowledge that as a legitimate government without getting anything in return?

Moreover, your guy didn't ask "what do we get in return", you said "we are not willing to go with a demand for our own demilitarization". We could've agreed to recognize the CSR as ruler of the land in return for demilitarization, but since that was clearly off the table, what's the point of going through the motions?

PS: the neutrality as described as demilitarization by outside powers was part of the treaty terms as drawn up by Cascadia. We didn't come up with that, we didn't demand anything, we just asked you if you were even vaguely willing to agree to that. Well, apparently not.

PPS: As far as I'm concerned the position of San Dorado on the matter of recognition was public knowledge ever since the CSR took charge in the PRSF. So there was preciously little reason for the ambassador to throw a fit over what should've been common knowledge at that point.
Why the hell did you even call us then, if you don't acknowledge that as CSR land? If it's "occupied territory", go ahead, and liberate it from the oh-so-evil occupier
 We acknowledge you're in charge and that there isn't much we can do about it. That doesn't mean we have to like it, or recognize you as the legitimate government, or even that we're going to do anything about it. This isn't even about the CSR; we don't recognize Tian Xia as the legitimate government of Westchester either.

Oh sure. Remember, I did not take part in the hostilities between Westcheste and PRSF. Beowulf did, actively fighting on behalf of his colonial pawn.

Why didn't you stop him that time? That's right, because you can't first of all, and second, you didn't care enough and started "caring" after Beowulf and me both claimed land for military installations in those client states.

Well here's the deal - if you're an impotent and hypocrite organization, the CSR won't be dealing with you period.
We didn't come up with that
Cascadia's leader told me that he made an erroneous statement and actually wanted to make CSR and Tian Xia exempt from the ridiculous full demilitarization demand, but it's too late now ;) just like if you mis-speak in diplomatic talks, you can't just go "whoops, sorry".

I'll have you know we didn't fight on behalf of either party either. And sure, your little pawn got reamed in the war, but then again that's only proper considering they started the whole clusterfuck in the first place.
Well here's the deal - if you're an impotent and hypocrite organization, the CSR won't be dealing with you period.
Then don't, and see if we care. It's not like "we don't talk to you" is a change from the status quo anyway.

If Cascadia's leader made an erroneous statement in a diplomatic text, he should've bloody well gone public with it. We didn't make any definitive statements like "we'll never recognize you as the legit government"; we didnt demand anything, and I'll remind you it was your guy who threw a hissy-fit and stormed out after some harsh language, when he unequivocally exclaimed "we won't demilitarize" first. So don't blame us for this absymal failure. If your ambassador had stayed, I'm sure we could've figured out some agreeable terms. That apparently won't happen now, but don't try and blame us for it. Because we didn't storm out on you.

He is in charge of the AFSR, and no amount of politicking or legalese is going to undo that fact. Not unless you plan to go to war with the Crimson Star Republic and eject him by force and succeed.

And since the treaty is about preventing outside military forces from entering Frequesue to do just that, you need only make exceptions for the Tian Xia and CSR in their respective territories on Frequesue.

By chasing him out and possibly causing the CSR to not accept the Conference outcomes, you render this entire exercise a potential waste of time.

Sure, only because you and your FTO buddies whined and stank to high heaven about my fleet, decrying "foreign interference". As soon as I move my fleet out, you bunch of impotents do nothing when Beowulf takes over the war and essentially forces a peace with himself as main party present at the talk.

What, no ire? Uh-oh, I guess there's not much left to speak about that then.
That apparently won't happen now, but don't even try and blame us for it.
Your complete impotency means the points raised are irrelevant anyway, and you breached my trust more than once already.

P.S. Your own organization is now under threat of falling apart between "hardliners", "neutrals" and "appeasers", apparently just about every FTO nation has it's own view on the situation and it's own ideas about that. You aren't even a unified force.

I'll continue selective contacts with my Frequesque partners (Vinish Republic and Indhopal), the rest can file their petitions to the nearest Crimson PCIA office. Our diplomats will reprocess them into toilet rolls.

I was asleep IRL during this fracas and have posted something to just that effect now. Actually, the issue of sleep is one of the reasons I was hoping we could conduct things via PMs and then post once everybody had weighed in. I can hardly RP the chair of the talks if players are conducting business while I'm sleeping.

Well, I guess I could try to not sleep. Anyone willing to PayPal me $20 to go buy M&Ms to munch on so the sugar and weak caffeine rush keep me awake? :D

Oh please. He says "we won't demilitarize", we say "we won't sign a treaty if it doesn't gain us anything", and then he storms out over something that should've by all rights been public knowledge. If he'd said "we'll withdraw to x level in return for your recognition of us as the guy in charge" or something like that we would've had something to negotiate about. Instead, he makes a definitive statement and then chooses to leave in a huff, and I'm chasing him out? Right...

Alright, coercing you into leaving was a big fucking mistake on our part. I'll admit that. I thought Beowulf would've been less heavy-handed, and I was wrong. Mea Culpa. I can understand that pissed off the CSR, and I'd even be willing to profusely apologize. But that didn't even so much as come up.

Your complete impotency means the points raised are irrelevant anyway, and you breached my trust more than once already.
I'm sure we did. But instead of offering us a chance to repair that trust you storm out on us. That's hardly what I'd call a constructive atmosphere.

Alright, coercing you into leaving was a big fucking mistake on our part
Your next step? "Repeat Step 1, Coerce me into leaving" - and removing my military would constitute exactly that. Moreover, you want to make the FTO arbiter of political disputes in Frequesque, meaning we would be relegated to "observer" status about our own territory? Riiight.

So I'm tired of speaking with a bunch of people who can't even grasp politics 101. Talk to Beo and have a lot of feelgood speak between yourselves.

You started with making demands instead of making offers. I wasn't really happy about the way PRSF thing turned out, I had to basically take over a nation incapable of defending itself after Beowulf's powergames, not even administrating itself. But you put a last straw on the camel's back.

We don't need your recognition on some sort of "terms", because you can't issue any "terms" to us, you're too incoherent and impotent. We're here, we recognize this territory as ours, want to dispute - be prepared to face consequences.

That's the last CSR position. And it won't change for a looong time as of now.
Lì ci sono chiese, macerie, moschee e questure, lì frontiere, prezzi inaccessibile e freddure
Lì paludi, minacce, cecchini coi fucili, documenti, file notturne e clandestini
Qui incontri, lotte, passi sincronizzati, colori, capannelli non autorizzati,
Uccelli migratori, reti, informazioni, piazze di Tutti i like pazze di passioni...

...La tranquillità è importante ma la libertà è tutto!

Mang! :P

You know, Shroomania is perfectly cool with San Dorado and is also trying to be cool with the CSR. Maybe we should mediate talks between you guys.

There will be cake.
