The first of the Vigilant class subs should be done somewhere mid-november, but if Coilerburg isn't getting theirs (which is an 'if' at this stage) the ones currently being built will just go to Baerne, San Dorado, and the other nations that have ordered them. Though you'd be more than welcome to order a few if you like 'em :D.
PM me the specs and I'll consider it. I don't feel like digging through threads.

On the space race note currently the MSA in conjunction with the various member agencies has roughly 9-10 GPS satellites in a limited constellation. RadioX offers HD Radio via satellite with complete coverage over MESSAmerica and is looking for broadcast liscense to naitons on the Old Continent before throwing another 3 satellite group up. In addition the MESS as a whole has somewhere in the range of 15-20 communications, weather, observation, etc satellites up.

Before the middle of next year the GPS system should be up to around 15 or more satellites, the Satellite Radio constellation will likely extend to the Old Continent, small dish satellite TV and Internet will be prepping, and the total number of satellites launched by the MSA and associated agencies should exceed 50 all told.

Dudes, what kind of satellites are those? Below 5-6-tons? I hope so ;)

Also, you launch 10-20 satellites per year? Or a large part of those 50 satellites are small sputnik-like blobs with weight under 1 ton?

Not all of them are launched from a heavy booster at the launche pad. For example, Beo has been putting up low-weight comsats using his F-15s.

And I believe he's wel above 50 sats. :)

SR-71s, not F-15s. Gives the possibility of more weight to orbit. Or sticking multiple satellites up at once.

Do we finally want to start the SNC conference....

After Shroom flies back of course... unless he wishes to excuse himself.

We can do it, like, unreal time!

I love Unreal Time.

EDIT:

Crap! I have my visits to the other F-ing continent places! Okay, "presently" since my F-ing visit will take just a couple of weeks at most, I'll be back in the OC in time for the SNC conference as an observer.

Unreal Time will be done for the rest of the F-ing visit which, chronologically, have "already" happened in the "past".

What? I didn't even know I had a 30 satellite TV constellation. :?

If you're talking about Game 1, that's cause Bean launched them and really, the issue is the fact that Bean ended up with like ten thousand kill-sat constellations up in that time, not my satellites that broadcast shitty TV shows to the entire Nova Terra. :P

Yes you do; he's referring to the satellite constellations you, me and Karmic launched. Which are a combination of small and big satellites, incidentally; the smaller ones are carried atop the Simoleon-E rocket (550 kg to LEO), and the heavier ones atop Lucrelance I (3,800 kg to LEO). Bigger satellites are being launched now to expand the network's bandwith: the Lucrelance II can carry 15,100kg to LEO.

You want to pay extra for shipping the rockets from CSR to Shroomania?

Anyhow, I'll be starting to launch my own satellites at the end of the year. I wanted to let the technology mature a little before launching.

15,100 kg to LEO? Is that some sort of heavy booster?

If you're onboard with the Silver Streak, we'd have to sell you the rockets with which to launch them. Or sell you the design specs so you can construct your own. Would that be acceptable?
Stas Bush wrote:15,100 kg to LEO? Is that some sort of heavy booster?
It's a Titan III analog, two solid rocket boosters attached to a bigger liquid-fueled rocket. I should perhaps point out that it's thusfar only been launched succesfully a grand total of one times... It's barely out of the experimental stage.

We should proceed with designing UR-500 then. :D I believe the UR-200 is already designed (all of it's preceding rockets have been made).

That makes sense; Proton is a very nice rocket, with oodles of heavy lift capacity. Plus, you could use it to toss 10-megaton warheads, which I imagine is something comrade-president Stanislav finds a very enticing prospect ;).

Heh. "Tossing" warheads to some concrete place? Who'd be doing that? ;)

I toss them into orbit once, they remain there, ready to fall on ur head ;) there's no Ban on Orbital Weapons in SDN World ;)

Of course, most of them are kept ready and tossed up once tensions go higher, but a contingent of orbital warheads is probably an inevitable result of space expansion in this world.

Maybe I should propose a ban on weaponizing space, as part of the FASTA mandate. With space weapons, we end up with another weapons system capable of ruining entire nations on one go, much like what just happened with Asstaria and Shepistan.

Realistically, with the "defeat" of Shepistan and Japanistan and the end of perceivable world threats, nations will start laying off on their defense budgets. Just like the end of the Cold War!

Come on, guys. We don't need a next generation Sheppy-Pooh! :)
