Still it's interesting to see what they look like in 3d.

Glad you like it, its kinda a hobby anyway.
As a doodle and seen as i couldnt find details on the Humanist union ship colour scheme and stylistic elements its not textured.

Course requested ships get texture jobs but also take longer to make.

Out of curiouosity what are Trixiat ships gonna look like Ohma? i assume the normal ship designs being longer than they are wide are phallic symbols of male hegemony so not useable. What shapes will Trixiat vessels be? spheres? discs? weird things with somewhat radial symmetry?
a big brick with anti male propoganda graffiti'd on the sides?

Scribbled some stuff on a napkin and posted. I'm pretty sure I left some editing mistakes in.

8 players now.

I think we really should recover the map and have the inactives greyed out and the new players put in.

Hmm so uh looking at the OOBs how many sides have battleships comparable or weaker than my cruisers?

Oh yes, doodle in blender of one Raxmei's invincible class i did cause i felt like it.
Image close?

And a redo of the Dauntless i did for roguenine ages ago

I did that on purpose. The Invincible class was called a battleship for the government equivalent of marketing reasons. Its direct descendent keeps the same designation out of inertia, even though most nations with a proper military tradition would call them armored cruisers at best.

The doodle looks better than what I imagined the ship to look like. The addition of an enlarged spinal section looks great, and I'm neutral about the side pods.

I see.

I predict as soon as the Harmony navy even hear about a Dominion or Dauntless they'll be screaming for something bigger to be built. Though they might end up calling it a superbattleship or drednaught just cause of their classification scheme.

I very intentionally made the heaviest ship in my arsenal called a Heavy Cruiser. As a power with close relations to the former Empire I have chosen to class my ships how the Empire would class ships of similar size/mass.

That is an important point though Dark. We should attempt to work together so that our numbers/classifications aren't too wonky. I raised my populations quite a bit, putting 200 billion on one of my hive worlds for example.

I'm not sure of the Chamaran population, i know the humans outnumber us massively though. Basically all the chamarans arrived in twelve motherships each 30 km across. Not sure where that puts their population as though they were packed in their very densely and unlike a conventional city its got more overral volume the motherships do also contain food cycle, industrial and engine areas.

A very rudimentary calc of mine says that you can max out at 3 trillion individuals and still be somewhat believable. I don't think you have any worries.

Interesting, the Chamaran population is somewhere between tens of billions and nearly a trillion then.

On the subject of unified classification. Nah, means we can always rely on the line of 'that's not a battleship, this is a battleship!' which should be good.

Oh i'm fine with looking at yours cause i have equivalents. Just you know keep it out of view of the others so they dont realize how badly they're outgunned and start building proper battleships before i get there.

The map recovered and with those powers that have fallen silent greyed out.

Image

Does anyone remember how we were placed on this thing so we can put the new players there?

Well I think everyone just said around where they'd rather start ("well I'd like to be near Humanist Union space") and whoever made the map placed them around those areas.

...I could be wrong though...

Oh, and the Syndicalists are still in play? Cool!

It'll take me a little while to flesh out my OOB, but the Grand Duchy of Malacaster is still in play.

And I could swear I posted something else earlier in this thread saying that your Blender stuff looked pretty awesome, like I said in my reply, while I have Athena's and Valks drawn up (need to finish my pixel art of the Athena), I can't think of much aside from a general aesthetic look for Durgas, Type 3s, and their stealth craft. It'd be pretty cool to see what you came up with.

Shipworks came up with another unsolicited model.
This one is Dark Hellion's Deathpact Void class

Now the question remains dark hellion, is it close or merely cool?

Edit: Though i suspect the Trixiat might open fire on it instinctively.

Oh and the trixiat small ships are essentially modded designs for the imperial scout they found yes? *is contemplating something avian looking*

That is pretty cool, and had I put up better descriptions of my weapons (stupid lazy me, their in my notebook) it would have looked even better.

That being said, it doesn't match up that well. The void classes Spinal HMAs are arranged in a diamond pattern, although it doesn't matter as the ship is perfectly symmetrical on all sides. It is also very simply a spike with engines. It has no enlarged areas, just the slight taper to the front, and engines and some CWIS/defense systems in the rear. The railguns are mounted in dual turrets wrapped around the particle beam, which is little more than an emitter pointing straight out, that is aimed via magnetic and gravatic fields. These turrets are mounted six to a side, in two triangular set ups, with 1 turret in the front, two about 1/3rd up, one turret 2/3 back and finally two turrets on the very aft. It is then peppered with the launch tubes. The most you can get away from its weaponry is if you are directly behind it, where you can only get hit with 1/3 of its direct weapon fire and its missiles. It is a giant kill spike, built by a military, for a military, with little elegance beyond the shape and the smooth armoured hull.

Thats a very cool design though.

I'll repaint it when someone wants some overblown ultimate ship for something then. Even if it wasnt accurate it was fun to do and looks pretty.

Go ahead and throw me at about (-8,-8). That should be sufficiently out of the way for what was once a remote Imperial Garrison, but still close enough to warrant the lack of barbarism.
