I can produce some Stingray corvettes for you, if that would be what you're looking for. I use them for my coast guard.

Now I'm all for buying local, but one ship for the price of five is pushing it ;).
I'm not going to lie to you, I just made up the prices for those ships, Gizmonic is willing to listen to market demands, and stop price gouging.

Buy Gizmonic, we will do better research for our prices.

There are two classes of patrol boats which I use myself (though not part of OOB) in my coast guard. They are

Might be willing to license the design...

There'll be more fallout from the CATO announcement, since I decided it'd be good drama to make my Nationalists really paranoid about "SNC encirclement". Drama ahoy!
Something about Libertarianism always bothered me. Then one day, I realized what it was:
Libertarian philosophy can be boiled down to the phrase, "Work Will Make You Free."

In Libertarianism, there is no Government, so the Bosses are free to exploit the Workers.
In Communism, there is no Government, so the Workers are free to exploit the Bosses.
So in Libertarianism, man exploits man, but in Communism, its the other way around!

Heh, I think Cascadia should start leaning toward CATO.

Also, Steve, did you get anywhere with that SDN World mod for HoI?

Hearts of Iron, it is a strategy game by Paradox Interactive, if I am remembering reality correctly, Steve found a flag editor for said game, and mentioned making a mod with the nations of SDN world.

Is there a rocket calculator out there? I'm no rocket scientist unfortunately. Trying to see what happens when I marry a rocket with an RD-171 as the base rocket, and a RD-0120 as a second stage, and a RD-058 for the third but I'm not sure if the payload to LEO would be identical to the Zenit-3 or closer to the Angara A5P (5 RD-191 with 9.6MN of thrust).

Okay, so here's the shopping list for the budding North Frequesuan Coast Guard:

8x Legend class deepwater cutter (WILKONIA)
Role: C&C/Sustained Presence Ships

20x Von Shroom class fast attack boats (VINEYARDS)
Role: Mid-Shore Patrol

12x Newark class corvettes (BYZANTIUM) (800tons version)
Role: Continental Security Ships

4x Evolved River class offshore patrol vessel (ALASKA)
Role: Evaluation/Off-shore patrol

Fingolfin, I'd like to license the design of the Newark so that Coilerburg Iron Works can produce them, that way the deal nets Coilerburg not just nice ships, but also expertise with modern shipbuilding and a stimulus for the local economy.

Together with the 27 corvettes I already have that makes 71 vessels, which will have to safeguard 2,500nm of shoreline plus a fair bit of the near-Frequesuan Pacific Ocean. I intend to compliment them with some flying boats (Ralson Aerospace never ceased production/modernization of the Catalina).

Four main bases are planned: one in San Dorado, one in Sabika, one in Coilerburg and a final one somewhere halfway in the northern wilderness. It'll take a fair while to set the whole thing up, but then it'll take a fair while before all those ships are delivered as well. The NFCG will be financed by San Dorado, Coilerburg and Sabika (Sabika no longer has a navy - Coilerburg sank it in the war with Sabika and Omago - hence why they're having trouble handling piracy etc.)

That works fine for me. It's 600 tonnes but I guess I could up to 800 tonnes... I ran by the Visby's tonnage as a reference.

What is the weapons loadout you want?
For an example, this is the standard kit:
Standard Forward Mount: 25mm Autocannon
Secondary Weapons: 4 12.7mm Machine Guns

The Rear deck can support containerized weapon systems, including Netfires (NOLS-LS), or the Common Anti-Air Missile (CAAM), or a launch and recovery system for small craft and UAVs.

Who wants stratellites formerly destined to Canissia?

Cascadia, want stratellites?

How about Shinra?

Come one, come all! Shroomania is still a totally cool cat with y'all guys!

The CATO will affect Shroomania only in its relations with fellow CATO member nations, and in the defense development within the organization. In regards to other non-CATO members, Shroomania shall maintain its cordial relationships with all of yous!

The standard kit will do: the same 25mm caliber is mounted on the Legend class, and 12.7mm ammo is a common enough round as well. We'll buy a whole bunch of those containers for evaluation purposes, I'm particularly interested in the Netfires and the UAV launch system, both of which sound like they'd be useful for the kind of light skirmishes the NFCG will be conducting. CAAM I'll pass on though, if I'll need air defense I'll pack a few Mistral launchers aboard. I take it the rear deck can support medium-sized helicopters? Because that'd make it excellent for operating in conjunction with the Legend.

I never really started the HOI2 mod, since it'd have to involve deciding how to adapt SDN World as it is onto the "real Earth" map. Easily done in the case of, say, "Messica", and in some aspects of the Old Continent, but not so easily done for Frequesue, the Crater Archipelago, Tonkin, Japanistan, etc.....

Also, I've never really asked or looked at the descriptions, just what are these "stratellites"?

High-altitude blimps and zeppelins that act as something between ground-based antennae and space-based communications satellites, capable of covering wide areas with their signals and waves. It's a system that's not as expensive as a satellite, though it's nearly as good as 'em and works together with sats and ground-based antennae.

And they can be used for military purposes, weather watching purposes, surveillance, and other cool stuff too!

That'd be a big fuck you to Canissia.

But I don't know if the strats Canissia's chucking away are either military or civilian models. I'd like to think of them as civilian models.

If they are military models, or if they're mixed with a few military and a few civilian strats, then the CATO'll keep the milstrats and we can probably sell the civ-strats to Cascadia or something for profit.

And link up the Shroomanian/CATO "stratosphere" with the Cascadian strats in Messica, and start transmitting television trash from bloody Shroomanian channels.

Shadow programing can get a special channel too. Like those televangelical channels, except instead of Jesus Time, the USSR can broadcast socialist sermonizations!

The Byzantine History Channel would totally kick the shit out of people's faces, though. So, yeah.

While PeZookia gets to be the administrative/coordinating center of the CATO, and Byzantium gets to be the hard-political player of CATO, and the CSR/USSR get to be the main military mangs, Shroomania can be the public face and "PR" people of the CATO.

We can make the CATO look nice and cute and cuddly with our adorable antics! :)

FART!

Yeah, they'd be nice to complement our military early warning and communications systems.

And we should see if they can be adapted for high-altitude rocket launches, perhaps?

High-altitude rocket launches? :D Does anyone remember my Kirov Air Ship project? I was gonna build those babies with some badass rockets and perhaps bombs(FOAB's). But I dropped the project because it seemed unrealistic. :(

If it is possible, perhaps we can restart the project?

I meant rockets as in "orbital launch vehicles", rather than actual combat missiles :D

Though, perhaps, they could house lasers and S-500 SAMs?

Well, me and Beo already discussed and did some initial planning on a similar setup for AEW using some USAF plan or other. I don't remember where we went with that but in any case, I probably wouldn't need them for that.

Civilian stuff though I guess I could use. Maybe keep some somewhere as an emergency preparedness measure, such as if say a bad hurricane or other storm comes through and knocks out communications infrastructure, we just set up a stratellite and float it into the area to at least supply the emergency services with reliable comms.

So what the heck, I'll take some of them. Also as a political consideration, since PM Shroom got all upset over my actions during the Warden Incident.
