Well if protesters throwing cattle blood around is the biggest disruption of the funeral I'd say things went rather smoothly. Its not like the terrorist organization that just assassinated the grand Shroom himself wouldn't be tempted by the gathering of half the world's leaders......

Immortal Vampires! Besides giving a healing factor, the pathogen is also potentially a "Immortality Pathogen" that can grant the recipient, well, immortality.

The problem is that if you alter the pathogen it can lead to run away cancer(as seen in early test subjects). The HERV injected into Sheppard removes some of the negative effects, but at the cost of needing very regular injections. William Wade was slected because he had a genetic code that was ideal for introducing a version of HERV that would grant a healing factor without creating runaway cancer(well...kinda) and not make him trend towards vampirism. But as Marina has allude too, he tires out fairly fast(Marina had said that Vamps could only function with about 4 hours of active lifestyle a day), hence the scarfing down of power bars and beef jerky in the last post.

Shroom shall be resurrected through a combination of HERV and advance robots...then will go on a killing spree shouting WHORES WHORES WHORES!
