Of course we're suspicious; this is an STGOD and Thirdfain is involved, if only peripherally.

Seen as it counts as diplomacy and there's naught to do else for the days before turn 2 starts Ohma may as well move to arriving in Makay space.

I have a proposal. Earlier I asked about having the Melconian's old capital in someone’s territory before, and pretty much everyone was understandably unenthusiastic volunteering for that. Perhaps we could make a mini faction that used to be the Melconian homeland, or use an existing one for this purpose?

Sounds reasonable. Understand, I would have let you do it with me, but I already have a gigantic target painted on me in the form of the Orodan shipyard. I don't need two reasons for massive invasion forces to come for me.

You know, in the last STGOD I played in, the president of my nation was female. I haven't established it yet; maybe I'll do so again.

Can I have a Chamaran? I promise I'll feed it.Darkevilme wrote:Seen as it counts as diplomacy and there's naught to do else for the days before turn 2 starts Ohma may as well move to arriving in Makay space.

Didn't thirdfain already send you one back in the aftermath of the battle of the great backstab? I assumed he did what with the whole evil communism shtick and the sudden departure of the ship.

Okay, let's cut out the feeling around and hash this out; it makes things much easier in character if the agreement is reached OOC first.
Nashtar is willing to export foodstuffs, and will build freighters and warships up to 15 points in value under contract, maximum ten points base. They don't want to do the latter, but if the trade deal is good enough it's a concession they're willing to make. The stealth technology will not be traded under any circumstances, since as far as I can tell I have the best damned stealth ships in the game and I'd like it to stay that way. They're in need of raw materials for their shipyards, as well as small arms and finished civilian goods of many types; Orodan is oriented towards heavy manufacturing, and per what I understand was standard Imperial procedure to keep the sectors dependent upon the Empire, the subsector doesn't have much in the way of light industry.

Whether or not you want to thow ships in is up to you; Sakamoto's not going to browbeat you about it: I imagine we'll both be purchasing trade vessels to make this actually work, yes? I don't see why you'd hand ships over to the Humanists on what translates into mutually-beneficial trade, unless you were trying to get more dedicated attention from my trade fleet. Am I perhaps missing something?

As a trade commodity. Trade nets you points, yes? So you get your trade points in the form of ships, and you get them this turn instead of next. Selling ships between powers has been done in previous STGODs, but that was before we had an established trade system; I don't know how it'd work under what we've got now.
And I had assumed the Union might want to buy some from me if they could, considering who has the bigass Imperial shipyard in this equation. After all, you were the one talking about shipyard space and not having enough of it.

Ah, I see. So I'd just be getting a part of my side of the trade points (whatever those were) in the form of already-produced ships at the beginning of round 2. In that case, I'll just stick to plain old trade to keep myself flexible later on.
And yeah, shipyard space is at a premium for me because I'm going to war. It'd be at a premium anyway, due to the Union's military bent.
Since I've apparently got leftovers due to logistics, how does about 10 points of +T sound?
(And where are the rules for +T now, anyway? They don't seem to be in the wiki...)

They're not in the wiki at all; I asked what the hell was up with +T when people first started posting it, and was told, but as far as I know the rules aren't written down anywhere.

Planning thread, pg 1 I believe.
Sorry, I am gonna be a little quite the next week or two. I am on a job search and can't devote a lot of time to actually playing.

EDIT: Also I've just realized that Dom uniforms look like Spectrum uniforms from Captain Scarlet.

I've been considering the Idea of using some of the surplus turn 2 homeship capacity to build advanced chamaran tech warships for export to other powers if there's a market for them.
I'm thinking simple enough pocket battleships, 25 points split 15+5D+5O mounting a spinal beamcannon or two each.
Would there be buyers for them?
addendum:
Just an observation. where as most of thirdfains fleet and all of the chamaran fleet has x2 ftl from 10% of total cost put into hyperdrives Ohma's Valkyries have 20% and thus x3.

Depending on how things resolve in Dayab, I'm sure the 'Trixiat would love to get their hands on more advanced ships.
And huh, I should've paid more attention to those rule details on the STGOD wiki page. After a quick perusal of the OOB thread, that seems to make the Valks the fastest strategic craft in their class. (maybe I'll form a rapid response squadron someday)
Oh and again, sorry for my delayed response in the main thread Dark.

Random question: Is the NRS Unmitigated Audacity a good name for a cruiser?

Actually, I was going to give it to a Guardian class light cruiser, but maybe I should save it for the supercapitals I plan to build after I get my shipyard back in good repair.

And you have them burdened with Babysitting the Athenas when they could be out rampaging, whizzing around and exploding shit. *will put the Trixiat down for four export BCs as replacement escort ships for Athena command carriers*Ohma wrote: And huh, I should've paid more attention to those rule details on the STGOD wiki page.
