Edit: Though i suspect the Trixiat might open fire on it instinctively.

Oh and the trixiat small ships are essentially modded designs for the imperial scout they found yes? *is contemplating something avian looking*
Well, I need to finish my ship descriptions (and other stuff) that explain better. But the T-3s were designed and built in Theta Mira and were the main resistance encountered during the campaign in space (so they were around before the fall of Terra). The Durgas are pretty much militarized T-3s, and the stealth ships were commissioned for reconnaissance purposes (I think they should look kinda' like space subs, 'cause that's how I'm going to write anything focusing on them).

EDIT: Oh, and I think the 'Trixiat should be somewhere on the outer edge of a circle around Sol whose borders are vaguely inscribed by the HU and KP. They are supposed to be fairly far out there by STL after all.

Yeah, it doesn't help that the pop-up that's supposed to notify me keeps getting blocked. I'm glad I decided to re-read this thread last night, because I wondered why you sent me that PM instead of posting in this thread...guess I'm just unobservant >.>

Trying to draw together a fleetlist for the Dawns Star Empire. I've got a question though:

Does the 50 point cap for ships refer to base cost, or total cost?

I think it's the total cost, at least that's how I and at least a few others have done it.

EDIT: Also added more stuff to my OOB, and character portraits to my dramatis personae.

total cost, and you can increase it with racial points in shipyards at a 10 RP equals +1 ship cap. though you have to say where these shipyards are.

Also i'm suffering a lack of energy for blendering efforts. so here's what i've done so far on Ohma's Durga class

I like it. You did a good job of making it look like a fairly modified hull (and I like the tubes, they remind me of the Lego parts of the same shape).

Major improvement will be happening to STGod 2k8 Mk II threads all day.

Anyone with time should feel free add any fleshing out they want. The background thread needs some work. I'll be putting up some huge stuff on the empire tonight, I think. I am probably gonna try to get all of my OOB sections at least filled out, and get the organization a bit better.

From my origins I'd expect to be neither close nor far away from Sol, as I'm neither a first wave nation nor a rim barbarian. Somwhere 6-8 hexes from Sol seems appropriate near as I can tell. I've pinpointed three interesting locations in that band. One is three hexes down from Nashtar, the others three hexes up or down from the Dominatrixiat. If I had to pick for myself, I'd choose -7 -4.

Can someone recommend a doodling program at least a little bit more capable than paint? I'm trying to draw a flag and its inability to rotate things 45 degrees appalls me.

I rolled a dice to place you Raxmei, with regards to your four choices.
Seemed as good as any.

Ok, got ship classes and fleet listings worked out and posted. Since we've got a trade mechanism worked out, I'm abandoning the improved salvage racial in favor of improved shipyards. 60-point battleship, here we come.

I guess I need to work on background details next, for example, what makes the Sol-touched, Dawns Aegis, and Hands of Lilandrin so special.

Is it just me or are we now officially up to our eyeballs in +10 shipyards?
Why isnt anyone trying to build a 70 point warship just so everyone can take a healthy interest in the kit used to build these things? Or are people going to be assembling colossus shipyards to stir up intrigue later in the game?

Quite possibly because anyone who has 500 points worth of improved shipyards in one world is just asking to get that system invaded and ripped out of their empire.

True. It's also true that out of nine players, assuming A wing slash gets his OOB up, four have oversized battleships and the capability to build more. This should be entertaining.

Also on the subject of Ohma's 50 point athena class command carrier i'm guessing that with a chamaran 60 being 1.5km long and the Trixiat building the Athena's and Valkyries on a somewhat subpar tech base the things are wowzers big to be comparable. to paraphrase starglider from the game before this 'your fifty pointer could be a hyper powered antaran rocketship the size of a bus armed with antimatter beams or a a twenty mile across island decked out with world war 2 artillery'

Everyone else was putting D on their planetary defenses, so I switched mine back to the C3 I had in my first draft. I also just feel more comfortable having planetary scanners than jammers.

Well sub-par tech (as far as weapons, armor, and construction tech at least) combined with unnecessary amounts of redundancy (worried that hyperdrives and AG systems may not work properly in practice), and the desire for each task force to be able to operate independently for extended periods of time. Yeah, pretty much the Valks are big honking things, and Athenas are even bigger (though they at least have the excuse of being heavily armed support craft).
I should just finish my OOB stuff already...thankfully I've got some more free time tonight so...

Oh, is it okay if I re-size your pics and use them in my OOB?

EDIT: Oh man, I am so screwed unless I'm very careful, this is going to be AWESOME!

My info and OOB will be up within a day or two. And, in case you were wondering, I'm going to have a big fleet of 65 pointers.

Just skimmed over it. The people in power in Malacaster seem likely to hate Harmony and hold its predecessor in contempt too. The place was crawling with venal capitalists before the war and revolutionaries after. I wouldn't be surprised if you were harboring fugitive reactionaries just to spite me.

If you would simply point out the traits associated with gentle birth and provide some well born research specimens I'm sure they'd have had little trouble isolating the genes responsible for it and splicing them into their own genomes.
