SDNWorld Redux - Casting Call & Planning MK II
I'd better get an Oscar nomination for all that angst I put in my opening post.
So Stas, if we wind up developing nukes or whatever, is the Crimson Star going to be upset if the MESS decided to deploy ABM in PeZookia?

I think everyone on the Old Continent, who's largely not a dick, is going to deploy one throughout the Continent and link them up.RogueIce wrote:I'd better get an Oscar nomination for all that angst I put in my opening post.

EDIT: I revised my starter post a little, just to give an idea where my problems will be.

I have no issues with how you use your territory. I have two large military reservations already setup on the island and I have no problem sharing that space (my military is quite small after all) if that'll help.Fingolfin_Noldor wrote:Wow.. Cyprus would have to be enlarged.
Anyhow, would you mind if I park a massive naval base at Antioch which is not too far off? If you want, we can work out a deal in terms of protection, cooperation and stuff. Just so that in case I end up going to war in the east, I won't ruffle any feathers.

EDIT: also, do we have a starting date to work from? unless we're just using the same calendar ingame as we are RL, IE it is now August 21st, 2008 in SDN World (does it have an international date line?)
EDIT: Bah, beaten to it.
But you got it wrong...

The FTO don't 'hate the old world', we're just way wary of it -- and with good reason, I'd think. Still, you ain't getting on our continent . Frequesue was pretty much invented in order to allow a bunch of small-time folks to play without constantly having to worry about the giganto land-armies of the empires next door. That goes right out the window when we slap your tsardom or whatsit in the middle of our continent.phongn wrote:The FTO hates the old world since they're mostly post-colonial shitholes who blame the old dudes for their situation but imagine if there was a superpower amongst them. Oh, there'd be so much angst!
Besides, Ford is already located there, provided he's still playing.
EDIT: Also, one hypercapitalist power is more than enough for any continent .

Stas I have been thinking about our modern history and here is what I have so far.
After the conclusion of the Second Great war and the fall of The Shadow Empire and it's conquest by the Crimson Star Republic our two nations enter a period of Socialist Brotherhood for about 20 years. But due to the internal problems of the Crimson Star Republic you had to give the USSR autonomy and eventually independence. Since then our countries have had excellent relations with each other and our people shared a great love for each other which eventually culminated into the "Red Faction" alliance and the formation of the Slavic National Confederacy which was later joined by Fingolfin and PeZook.
How does that sound?
EDIT: And if you're wondering why my people would like your guys so much it is because you freed them from their fascist asshole leaders and brought them peace and prosperity after the war.

Pezook, it looks like we share a border. Any thoughts, or are things cool between us?
Something about Libertarianism always bothered me. Then one day, I realized what it was:
Libertarian philosophy can be boiled down to the phrase, "Work Will Make You Free."
In Libertarianism, there is no Government, so the Bosses are free to exploit the Workers.
In Communism, there is no Government, so the Workers are free to exploit the Bosses.
So in Libertarianism, man exploits man, but in Communism, its the other way around!
If all you want to do is have some harmless, mindless fun, go H3RE INST3ADZ0RZ!!
Grrr! Fight my Brute, you pansy!

The Redux map has to be updated due to slight alterations in the 4th Continent. Might be a little more alteration soon given that Rogue needs to adjust his border with Wilkonia.

Jesus christ, people, do you think that after six hundred years I've stopped caring about being well-dressed to the point that I at least wouldn't drop on home and change my shirt before going to the next country after Lonestar shot me? Granted, I'm in a hurry, but, meh, it's just another two scars. The protists are really good about sealing their home back up and allowing the eternal hunt for tasty sucrose to continue.
And I have a chesire cat's grin at the moment, so take that as you will.

I'd prefer not . If that were to happen, I would just spam nukes and delivery systems, as nothing else would provide a decent deterrent to a huge and rapacious corporate state besides perhaps massive bribes to key executives.phongn wrote:Actually, what I really want is to be the core of Frequese and have all those little powers huddling in fear. Edit: And as you are now being placed around "Panama", the matter is now (thankfully for me) moot.
On another matter, once Frequesque is placed on the map, it should be about the same size as the old continent, if it really is the size of Australia as has been talked about before.
That would mean Indhopal is huge and empty, which is my intention. That makes border wars with rebels so much more interesting as they could conceivably penetrate deep into the country.

Yep. I gave Wilkens a little too much of my country there.Steve wrote:The Redux map has to be updated due to slight alterations in the 4th Continent. Might be a little more alteration soon given that Rogue needs to adjust his border with Wilkonia.
Anyone who's good at these sorts of things? I can describe it well enough to you and maybe you can make a non-sucktastic map?
