Also, feel free to help fund further development of the T-50. I've only managed to build the basic T-50A and the T-50B/A-50 light striker, the latter of which is the one currently in service with the Langley Air Force; I've yet to get a navalized version or a full-blown F/A-50 off the ground.
Excellent. I want to buy a few T-50As to replace some of my older trainers. Probably 36 for a start.
Thirty-six T-50As at a unit price of $21 million each will amount to exactly $756 million for the whole lot, which I'll round to a flat $760 million to account for spare parts and maintenance training. It'll take about 18 months to finish the order.
I ship Eino Ilmari Juutilainen x Lydia V. Litvyak.

The rail line is the black line connecting the harbor to Miratia. You can't really claim all the land in-between however, because the Tanstaafl Raj would throw a fit if you did.
Ah, okay. Why's that? I can't think of any particular reason why it would upset him. :?
On a slightly different note, will anybody sell Miratia an assault carrier, or will they have to build one themselves?
We're willing to work with you in designing one.
Sounds great.

I'll come up with a better list of requirements later and post them in the RP thread as part of a Miratian proposal to the rest of the FTO, but for now, the range should be at least sufficient to circumnavigate Frequesque while carrying a full squadron of 25 helicopters and up to 300 troops and their equipment. It should be able to carry fuel and weapons to support multiple sorties of this scale, say two.

Also, it should be large enough to accommodate Miratian synchrocopter designs. The air-mobile howitzer might have turned out to be a dud concept, but I'll almost certainly be developing other weapons systems for the same chassis that may prove to be more useful.
$1.5 billion apiece for fully armed and equipped destroyers.
Awesome. I have a few other potential concerns but I gotta run just now, so I'll list them later. How long would it take to get one to the waters near the harbour? (Time spent building it and all that.)

Historically the Raj claimed all the land around the Orizaco Bay; they were quite upset when Karmic and I staked claims near the river, can you imagine how they'd howl when you set up show in their immediate backyard? I mean technically they should've reclaimed all that land for themselves already, but I never got around to RP'ing it...

Excellent. That sounds like a really useful ship to have. I'll probably take two myself, considering I'll probably need to be able to move troops about a lot between holdings around the continent.

Shouldn't take very long, a year, year and a half perhaps. They're a very common design by now, I think we've built at least 20 of them so far...

Here's my proposal for a map of Veleria. The southwestern part is the Republic of Astaria now, though it might have a new name, don't recall what's been written for it. I drew what I figure is the main trunk of the Dragonsnake River from Port Adria inland to Zor's Ironridge operations and I delineated the two Cascadian territories in northern Veleria and the "Nuparadise" nation set up by Frequesuan adventurers RPed by Coiler a few months (years IG) back.

The red blots in northwestern Veleria are major Japanistani coastal stations and the area cordoned off in red is their new colonial holding there.

If you talk to Lonestar, you might be able to convince him to build some Mistrals for you. They're just about exactly what you're looking for, I think.

I personally rather like the idea of an "Astaria Outre-Mer", where maybe a bunch of haggard reactionary survivors of the war try to hang out to the olden ways as much as possible, perhaps even trying to scrounge together the necessary resources to start a reclamation of their homeland...
... and the "Nuparadise" nation set up by Frequesuan adventurers RPed by Coiler a few months (years IG) back.
... Oh dear. I forgot all about those. I guess I'll send a ship to wave the flag, ask them if there's anything they expect of ye ancient homestead, and tell them to keep their heads down. I can't be seen as hanging Coilers out to dry right now, even if they're half the world away, but I really don't like to get involved in Astarian matters at this time.

Two Rurouni Kenshin characters and a Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha A's character in the MSA flight roster. Then again, seeing as I've named my nation after an Evangelion character and essentially appropriated the entire cast of Code Geass for my own purposes, it's relatively minor. I'm just really amused. :)

You're spending dozens of billions on new carrier hulls and expanding the run of 5th generation planes, and you think you're "off balance"? ;) Well, well.
I'm not. I'm building a sixth carrier, but that was planned way back in the beginning of the game, and my 5th generation planes are pretty much 1-for-1 replacements of older birds.
Stas Bush wrote:Also, since when did we make our militaries "larger"? I comission hulls just to barely replace the old fleet, same for the airforce and army. The force levels stay at more or less constant size. And I wouldn't really manage an expansion with this latest crisis anyway.
Well, that was mostly back when Shady was redoing his OOB and I realized he had almost as many tanks as me, and I said "fuck it if I'll let a Duchy have more tanks than me!" so I decided to expand.

Of course now that he merged with you that changes things. Come to think of it, was he already taking that into account when he was first revising the USSR OOB? Because he's a little fucker if he was.

Oh yeah, third reason for expansion? I've been watching HBO's Rome lately and I wanted my own XIIIth! Although this is a Corps, not a Legion. Come to think of it, I'll probably have a 13th Infantry Division now, as well. w00t!

Fuck it, maybe my Marines will get the old A-6 Intruders as a CAS aircraft? Though without an internal gun, hmmm...

I blame Wilkens for the Rurouni Kenshin characters. Col Yagami was an astronaut in the last game too.

Well...not really. :P I just made a mistake with my estimated production levels and numbers(Fin pointed out later that I had way too many tanks). I was gonna correct that, but then things changed...you know. :D

I have now begun working on the UCSR OOB and I'll post that up together with a new nation profile for the UCSR, although that will take some time.

P.S. PeZook Mang, that was awesome. :D

Dude if you want amusement just go back for two secodns and look at my Naval OOB, particularly the DDGN and FFGs. ALso I was putting the list together came up with names offered the guys the chance to amend and Beo never got back to me :D I would have held off posting but then it would have been odd for me to start talking about Pegasus 5 and 6 when I didn't even really talk about Pegasus 3 at all even though, per my schedule, it launched and succeded back in Q3 while Q4 has both Pegasus 4 and 5 launching over the course of those three months.

Oh yes and OOB has been updated through the end of FY14, I have de-activated my bombers, crimped down on my Marines, switch one of my Army Corps to reserve status...and its all gonna pay for new stuff (or is it?)

If used aircraft get 20% knocked off their price, that'll be...$44 million per Super Hornet if my math's correct. I'll pay a flat $1 billion for all 24 as soon as they become available; I'll tack that on to the $800 million I'm already paying you for new Hawkeyes and Vikings. Just how soon is that Common Support Aircraft going to be available, anyway? I might change my order to those or just take used E-2Ds and E/K/S-3Cs as they become available

As for the Growlers, Wiki says they currently cost $66 million each. An exact $1.32 billion payable to Lonestar for twenty of the things should suffice.

I think that's Beowulf's project? Or at least he's doing the numbers and stuff and then somebody will be building them.

I'm a bit surprised it's not around by now, since I think it was planned quite some time ago. Maybe it just got lost in the shuffle of other stuff.

I'm already well aware of your naval OOB. Some of your naming conventions strike me as a bit arbitrary, and I'm a bit curious about a few things (how you lost the Katie Voegele, the Morena Baccarin, the Veronica Varekova, and the Karolina Kurkova, for instance), but it's still a very good read.

During the One Week War when Shep had his super-duper carrier-killer SSANs which also managed to bag some of Wilken's SSNs and all that. Just go look up stuff around that timeframe and you'll see.

CVN's are all singer's, Amphibs are all the real names of female wrestlers (excepting the San-Antonios), SSNs are all models, Auxilliares are all TV writers, the old CG, DDG, and FFGs are actresses (though I did throw a few Tennis players in on the justification that they've been on TV). I've long though about re-arranging things to take the Tennis players out of the DDGs and swaping them with the Amphibs but I'm just gonna retire the DDGs anyway.

So yeah as Rogue mentioned Shep decided that his super-subs could sink whatever he wanted of my ships. Since the CVBGs did make a speed run from the central Atlantic I didn't bother to point out that my subs had been in place around Shepistan for months and would have long ago noticed his ship...so I just sank them during the Bio-War.

Ah, those were good times. Not only could they kill carriers (fine, he designed them around that, understandable) they were also good enough to get the drop on and sink a pair of top-line hunter-killer SSNs. And, just for good measure, they had a SAM firing buoy they released that took down some of your ASW aircraft, as I recall. All while getting away completely unscathed. :D

Hell, I might even go look up those posts, just for the fun of it.

EDIT: He also got a cruiser? Huh, forgot about that.

I'm looking up those posts myself. Shep only managed to bag one of Wilkens' S-3s with a VLS-launched Sidewinder; I could probably buy that. Getting the drop on and sinking two of Wilkens' Virginias and getting away without a scratch after taking down the Katie Voegele? Yeah, right.

As for the final fate of CG-58, there's nothing on it, save for that Shep wasn't the one responsible. Maybe we should write a story on it...

The CSA is currently in prototype testing. The first production aircraft should be ready around 1 RL month from now. Full production will take another month to come up to speed.

I am fine with this map.

Actually, Siege, I don't think anyone objected when I proposed that 10% of the main island of Astaria is still populated by Astarians, though they were having to still undergo evacuations until they reached a sustainable population for the region (which they probably have by now). I had it as the eastern-most section of the island, probably centered around that thin northeastern peninsula, maybe also a few quarantined ports along the north.

Given it's been about four, five game-years since that happened, I think the "Rage Zombies" should have long died off. The only thing left would be a few insects and plant species that survived the Tian Xia gas attacks and the Shepistani cocktails, which in a few years won't be a threat anymore since they'll have died out with the last infectable species in the Dead Area. The only threat left will be stuff like the anthrax spores. Within a couple game years we could possibly see programs begin to "reclaim" the rest of Astaria, acre by acre.

My proposed Astaria map:

Image

The red area is the lifeless zone, the little light-colored areas are zones of continued habitation. I tried to get the habitation areas as close to 10% as I could visually, I'm not sure if together they quite make up a tenth though. As long as it's sub-15%, though, it should be fine.

I think Astarian Velaria should encounter some civil disturbance.
