See, on my end, since I picture hyperwave as working very much like radio, in the 'Simonverse' transmission times scale linearly with distance- if nothing else, because the idea that sending a message from A to C can take longer than sending it from A to B to C, when A, B, and C all lie in a straight line... that makes my brain hurt.

But, again, this is ignorable. The 'Rabidverse' need not match the 'Simonverse,' and if we ever bump heads over some issue about the details we can hash it out ourselves, no problem.

Well, you see, Hyperspace is a bit like some sort of wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey sort of.. stuff. Here's a 100% guaranteed-or-your-money-back accurate representation of an HyperWave transmitter ==> Image

The Braxians have their Navy and Army up and running.

Army Strength 1,007,811,200
Navy
40 Scouts 50 L. Frigate; 50 Antifighter:
25 H. Cruisers; 50 M. Cruisers; 20 C2 Cruisers.
6 Dreadnoughts, 4 Dreadnought/Carriers

High Birth Rate bolsters enlistment rate. Still working out the finer points of ship building and naval work.

So I talked to Simon earlier today about joining the game and he gave me a dice roll of 30. Thus 25 + 30 = 55 NCP. I have spent them thusly:

1 Home Sector
6 Core Sectors
7 GDP Boosts
7 Warp Gates
4 remaining NCPs for Trade Routes

This gives me a (current) GDP of $95,000 which could go up to $103,000 if I use all my trade routes. Maybe even $105,000 if they're two ways.

For a little bit of information, I will be playing the great Star Kingdom of Equestria, with the co-rulers of Queen Celestia and Queen Luna. Equestria is a land of peace and harmony, though we'll certainly be capable of defending ourselves should the need arise. And yes, we are a race of multicolored talking ponies, why do you ask?

So, who wants to be a trade partner? :D

Damn you Rogue just.... damn you Rogue...

You had me going for a second there, at first a thought 'Wait what, maybe Simon meant he had 30 points overall and he just misinteprted it?' and then I read on, and I went 'Oh? Oh! Ooooooh....'
This odyssey, this, exodus. Do we journey toward the promised land, or into the valley of the kings? Three decades ago I envisioned a new future for our species, and now that we are on the brink of realizing my dream, I feel only solitude, and regret. Has my entire life's work been a fool's crusade? Have I led my people into this desert, only to die?

Same here. If that did happen, though, I assume the galaxy would feast on pony flesh.

Yeah. Good luck nuking me. Simon already approved my fleet of 6000 point Twilight Sparkle-class Battleships thanks to my long-term veterancy status.

I still get another hour of this, yay!

Hmmm... decisions, decisions. On one hand you are a bunch of odd ponies that far too many grown men have deviant and perverse fantasies about. On the other you do hate cats.

We don't hate cats so much as the cats seem to hate us. Which, in practical terms, is probably about the same thing.

RogueIce. This is the stupidest April Fools I've ever seen.

Really...ponies? Couldn't you think of a better april fools thingoid than "LOL PAWNIES"? Maybe next year you'll think of something better. Hopefully.

But I'll be serious now. That was the most utterly generic, bland, sour, and dull thing you could of pulled. Just...don't even try next time. That was boring, man. Not cool.

Hmm, ponies, eh? A most...unexpected development.

However, due to them being much, much more powerful than most human polities, it would be in our best interest to befriend make acquaintance with ally with the hoofed creatures until we find the perfect time to strike.

I take a very dim view of April Fools' Day shenanigans in general. I do hope that the ponies will remain a bad April Fools' Day joke and nothing more.

Unbecoming. Right. This still better be a April Fools. Otherwise, if this is actually serious, I really don't want to play SDNW5, because you gave RogueIce four things which are bad.

More than one 6000 point giggalodreadnought.
Over 100,000 total GDP.
You let him play as something as unimaginative as ponies.
55 NCP.

Simon, as I said above, if this is indeed serious, I do not want to play. It's outright bullshit, and it almost borders on dishonesty, allowing RogueIce's nation to be ridiculouly OP. I found my own giggalodreadnought to be fine because there would only ever be one, and while powerful, all major nations can likely defeat it.

So yes. I will be bitter if this is true. But if it is not, then I defer to my previous post that RogueIce is a very boring person, but I will have no ill will towards him or you, for that matter.

However, again, if this is serious, I really do not think you even deserve to be the current mod for the game Simon, because I will emphasize this one last time:

If this is serious, it is bullshit and it is not funny, and that you AND RogueIce should be barred from participating in the next SDNW, if there ever is one, because you decided to be a bunch of chucklefucks and start shitting out stupid ideas.

And for the love of god, please don't be serious, Simon and RogueIce. Please. I would say that I beg of you, but I refuse to beg in case it is indeed serious.

Please, Simon.

The latter being posted at roughly 2300 my time.

So yes, it was indeed an April Fools joke. As to it being "the most utterly generic, bland, sour, and dull thing (I) could of pulled" well, humor is all in the eye of the beholder and so forth. I thought it was funny, and yes the absurd NCPs and supermegadreadnoughtofawesome were intentionally over the top and in no way remotely reflective of anything I'd ever try to do in an actual game.

As far as ponies in general are concerned, well, tough nuts. I'm not saying I will but if I wanted to and put forth the creative energies to make an interesting backstory/setup/scenario/whatever for them, well why the fuck not? There's a race of friggin' bees out there that are interstellar, so why not talking multicolored ponies?

Or are only certain genres/fandoms allowed to be used for loose inspiration in this game? I must've missed that memo.

I mean yes, if someone creates something that's deliberately trollish I can see not wanting it, and of course my loose rip of MLP done as a prank would indeed qualify. But if I was actually being serious and put forth the effort to create something interesting that happened to involve a race of interstellar ponies with multicolored furs and manes, and which may or may not borrow some names from a relatively popular children's cartoon about ponies again, why the fuck not?

Because hey, if I had a bug up my ass about oh, the Superman franchise for some silly reason, should I get to tell the Kryptonians "sorry but not in my game you don't"? Lighten up.

Not to worry. You've got a whole year until I'd be playing pranks again.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go back to plotting out the Care Bear Republic. :D

Wow...talk about a joke there...glad I wasn't online at the time. Though if the Intergalactic Ponies were actually real then forget trade routes...Space Sweden would go completely isolationist. We do not need multi-colored space Ponies in our country. Thankfully though I don't have to worry about that. :P
