Damn it. Just saw this - this means that I have to write a major post about what ships I commissioned and which ones are fitting out... damn it.

PS Sorry for not talking to you more but I'm so darned busy
Heh, yeah. I've been thinking that instead of border fortifications, the border could be fairly demilitarized (to avoid provocations) but the cities and towns that are situated a little more northerly are fortified and accompanied by airbases and such. Armoured trains and specialist teams are ready to blow up railways and such. It wouldn't be desired that the Chiletines bring up siege artillery to pound cities and airbases.
It's okay that you're busy. Everyone's super-busy and such right now.

Spain does formally recognize Brazil, its current government and respects its sovereign territory, borders and territorial waters, though we have no official relations. Come to think of it, there aren't any countries Spain doesn't recognize.
On the matter of the German ships sent to Uruguay - that was arranged some time before the Brazilian Fleet set sail or any related events became known to Spain, so, unrelated occurrence.
Can I just say it keeps throwing me when anybody says "Columbia" even though I know you are using it. The historical nation was Gran Colombia and I need that big honking O to differentiate since I was born in a city of Columbia

If there's a delay until June, the war simply won't start for loss of time. *goes back to polishing guns* I'm making a few slight modifications to my initial attack and going forward with it, regardless. The course of the war can be determined later anyway.

Won't be a delay until June. Which would be early next week anyway.

Stas Bush... I got a question: There was this Russian guy who invented an electrical blast furnace that was installed in various works after the damming of the Lena river. Unfortunately I can't remember his name nor any of the details. Could you tell me what his name was and if you got any information about his device?
EDIT: And for the British and/or Scandinavian player: patent for an electric blast furnace. Given the names I'm fairly sure this is the real deal. The reason people kept on using coke after this invention is part inertia but part that coke was a lot cheaper and more practical, unless you have pressing reasons to avoid using it (such as not having any coal in your country while also having lots of hydropower). So does this mean I can assume that this invention exists in the timeline and/or that it was independently invented in Brazil?

Bahaha. I'll have you know that I once considered calling it "Mega Coulombia" as a terrible, rancid, eye-rolling, cringe-worthy inside joke for the physicists.
But, let's just see if I can remember to do it your way.
1920 makes it logical to exist, yes, though Brazil being the first developer is up to debate.

Not necessarily first developer just that it was also independently invented there. IT makes sense for a country poor in coal but rich in hydropower to develop such technology.
By the way I was surfing the web and found this collection of vintage Russian ads that look like they were from WWI or just before. Can anyone read them? Also when I look at Soviet propaganda posters I notice a distinct break in style with these old advertisement posters, contrary to China where the artists making ads seem to have gone straight to making propaganda; what happened to the guys who made this?
Updated my orbat some more with oversea commitments.

Quite a bit. I'll determine your success by how many IBPs you spend toward air tech development. High enough and I'll let you build newer prototypes more quickly.

Beowulf claims to have over 650 000 in his northern territories alone. Did you activate reserves ahead of what is allowed by rules or something?
Regardless, the war plan will be slightly modified to fulfill doctrine requirements. Also, some other modifications will be made.

Perhaps he's oriented most of his (large) standing army toward you because he's on good terms with the Chinese and has a strong enough navy to repel the Japanese in most potential cases. Possibly also because Mongolia seems to generally be a nonissue for him, given their aspirations in other directions.
Perhaps so, but that was nowhere the initial disposition of his forces. Regardless, that matters not. He has barely enough forces to defend the almost 2000 km long Argun-Amur line (actually, not enough for doctrinaire wartime defence). So my initial breakthrough will get some success, of course.
The war post requires some time to mash up and finalize, so probably that'd be around mid-day today.

I'm sure it'll be as bloody as most other Russian attacks of the twentieth century, but you do have the manpower advantage in-theatre. Between your...Russian-ness and Beo's Beo-ness it'll certainly be an interesting affair.

He's been activating units since the start of provocations, which is pretty reasonable, and I believe those only started in February, so the divisions won't be completely ready until August under the non-mobilization activation rules. Well, short of mobilization. Which he has now just ordered. And which would logically prompt a Soviet attack a day or two later.
But looking at his OrBat, a great deal of his Army was indeed in the north. Not entirely unrealistic given his most likely land enemy.

Updated my orbat with preliminary force ideas, in keeping with the 'horseman militia' aspect of Afghanistan I want to establish. See that total lack of armoured vehicles?

A note. Though I have not posted my OOB in its full entirety, I would expect a cruiser squadron, along with a couple of destroyer squadrons, and some minesweepers/layers, as well as maybe one or two battleships as flagships to be based at Riau/Singapore/Java at the least.
Legio X Javanopolis is also the main legion in the region to guard it.
