Also, Miratia is an important partner for PeZookia due to our uranium deal. With twenty four reactors coming online next year, and a hundred more planned, we need the uranium more than food :D

It's a good deal for us, and there's no way we're gonna go jeopardizing it just to be dicks.

Wonder which year is a good year to declare that thorium reactors are certified safe and usable. Maybe end of this year.

I have updated the CAKE (Canissian And Katangwan Enterprise agreement) listing in the "Alliances and Organizations" thread to reflect my Parliament's whingeing from that earlier vote.

I'll start adding the Foreign Legion into OOBs and such soon, as well.

So...the Canissian parliament doesn't want to buy Mig-29s for 10 dollars apiece just to spite us?

I guess I'll just make a call to S'Vimbi myself, then :P

Your intelligence people must be very bored or have active imaginations. Aside from that heightened alert shortly after the coup, which is hardly surprising considering, there's really been nothing interesting going on down there.

Or the amazing ability to read MESS-standard encryption schemes and tap into Satellite uplinks/Fiber cables because almost no first world military just broadcasts on RF for the hell of it anymore.

Especially at a base.

EDIT: I also like how 4 Surface Combatants(none of them STAR ships), an LPD with 500 Marines, and a AOE constitutes a Taskforce worth worrying about, rather than something onhand to evacuate Dominion Nationals if the fecal matter hits to rotary blade :)

Yeah, remember? We covered this a month ago RL. My Nationalists flipped out and wanted to "punish" the expansion of CATO and combining of the USSR and CSR. So I publicly backed down while privately re-negotitating the Stratellites through Byzantium.... and gave you the contract for the dock and the merchant marine deal, 'member?

Folks need to remember that, publicly, there is not enough naval/Marine power off Vinland's coast (even with both Canissian & Old D combined) to be a threat. It is a "show of resolve" at most; but the stated purposes are to evacuate foreign nationals. In a country where the entire previous government has been frog-marched out and shot, I think it is fair to assume that we are seeing a lot of business.

Well, for one, it's talking about me. Beo, Coyote, and Lonestar can speak for themselves. For another, I have to wonder at the factual accuracy or what, if anything, you're attributing to me.

Tian Xia did indeed start a mission of sorts in the CFR, and those two task forces do in fact exist. Now how you choose to spin those events is between you and Ryan and, frankly, is an IU matter. But saying there's "interesting chatter" from my base where absolutely nothing out of the ordinary, except reasonable precautions during unrest within the host country, is rather, well...odd. Now if that's some form of hyperbole and you're just making it up for whatever reason, fine. But if you're going with the assumption that there are any 'interesting' communications from the base in Syl well, you're wrong. There isn't. So either you RPed something my people aren't doing, or that was just a flat out lie you told to Gero. If it's the former, yes I have a problem. If it's the latter, well, that's your business.

I had Gero interpret it as hyperbole. The rest of what he said was accurate enough, and people do misspeak.

So general note I'm going to have close to 40 Burke's and Tico's coming available in the next few years the price is basically scrap value plus delivery cost plus 10%. If you want 'em let me know.

Also on carriers since its been batted around both IC and OOC I'm gonna put this out there: I've spent close to 7 years building my current carrier and that is with the MESS as a whole having enough carriers to support 4 or so shipyards capable of building such carriers. Nobody else has a large enough carrier fleet to be able to support building more than 1 or 2 at a time and most folks don't have enough of a fleet to subsidize having a fleet carrier facility constantly operational...in other words Fleet Carriers should be taking a LONG time to produce because everyone is gonna have to do everything from scratch even for a conventional carrier.

Just curious, but what would the scrap value be for an Arleigh Burke or a Ticonderoga, and how much would the delivery costs be?

I believe I posted that Cascadia was going to spend quite a few years building a new 65,000T nuclear carrier, though this was a while ago, so it'll be doing delivery trials next game year, probably the second half of 2016.

Langley, I could hand you a few KDX-IIIs for very low prices.

I do happen to have 10 or so Ticonderongas which are essentially sitting there doing nothing because they are in mothballed status.

Did we ever work out a proper and applicable scale of "build time by tonnage" for shipyards?

I'm going with 2-3 years per nuclear destroyer or cruiser. 1-2 years for smaller conventional destroyer. Nuclear Carriers of Nimitz size around 10 years.

The USS George H.W. Bush took 3 years from laying down to launching, and about 8 years from ordering to commissioning. TR took about 6 years total.

TR = Theodore Roosevelt. Seperate ship. 1 year from ordering to lay down. 3 years building, 2 years trials before commissioning.

Why such a great disparity? 11 vs 6 years?

Funding?

? The Bush was 8 years total. The only real discrepency is that the Bush took an extra 2 years before laying down.
