Now if they could just reciprocate the NFT's gesture (We made Willy Bank squirm to get this! Come on, guys!), we'd gladly finalize that airplane tender and remove those nasty SSGNs from his vicinity :)

Vicinity is a very relative word when the world is so small compared to the range of the cruise missiles which can hit 6000km effortlessly.

Well, modern SSBNs also carry missiles which can hit their targets from the moment the sub leaves port, but this doesn't mean the involved power wouldn't want them as far away as possible from their shores :D

Besides, my Yer Moms don't have those missiles yet.

Though I'm sure they will soon ;)

It's a misconception this world is "small". The landmass is very small and the oceans very vast. Few craft travel such distances without replenishment, and vinicity does mean a lot. Part of the reason why we don't understand WTF dominion is doing in F.

And now everyone sees why I talk about a Round 3, if it happens, just using Earth as a model instead of making up our own world, where we might give in to laziness and create a world where there's far too much ocean even with the place being a lot smaller. :P

It's a problem with the granted land areas, since during the design stages of this STgod, nobody took into account that we'll have about 1/6th of the world's countries, total, even with NPCs :D

And, of course, there is no real russia, US or Canada which occupy such gigantic stretches of land.

All in all, I like Nova Terra, despite it's tiny size. It's nothing compared to the gimping Selene got: it wouldn't even be visible from Terra with the naked eye, and the surface gravity is 0.17 m/s^2. You literally have to watch your jumps when walking around its surface :D

If you're gunning for Shroomanian Commonwealth nations in the North Pacific, go for the Zorians; they just need to have their CATO observership revoked first before you commence bombardment, though. :P
I wasn't looking your way... though your adaption of anime characters as your leaders has me slightly perturbed. :P
Back to serious business, concerning Northern Veleria, it would probably stand to reason that al-Itani, Tanvarika, Yulanti, Ashant, and Fredonia were most likely colonies in the past. Assuming they were indeed colonial possessions at some point, who exactly controlled them?
They were. With Ashant I discussed the possibility with Stas that in the mid to late 20th Century they were a CSR satellite and a cause for tension between Adams and Stasograd, though not necessarily a Tsarist colony beforehand. I had al-Itani down - on my wiki via a quick blurb of my military history - as formerly being Astarian (or likely a Shroomanian outpost that devolved to Astaria when it revolted) until the "Velerian War" with Cascadia in the late 19th Century, when Cascadian troops seized Hasiyah and drove the Astarians out of Veleria's northwestern reaches. This likely opened the region up to Japanistan, which was the imperial master of al-Itani and al-Akharabat until WWII when the Allies drove it out.

Adabani was always Cascadia's only colonial holding, so I suspect Fredonia, Yulanti, Ashant, and Tanvarika belonged to various other countries. Probably at least one was Shroomanian, maybe one belonging to the Tsarists who ruled what became the CSR/UCSR, Rangatara could be ex-Shinra given Shinra's interests there (though recently trumped by Tonkin). Tian Xia and Wilkonia are other logical ex-colonial masters to consider.
Also, after Anya's done with her business in Caleigh, would you mind her stopping by in Cascadia and Adabani?
Not at all.

Our NPCs sucked anyway, though. I suppose though if we did it Earth size with similar landmass but kept our nations relatively compact, we'd be fucking outnumbered by them though. Or there'd be an awful lot of empty land. Me, I'd go for shit ton of NPCs. Just so people can fuck around without it being strictly player vs player; there will be a middleman NPC in between them!

Plus it lets us indulge our inner Sheps (you know you all have one) without it becoming World War III, as the situation is pretty much now. Unless we go bomb some Somalia lookalike, but that's boring.

Anyway, enough rambling about that. PeZook, weren't we supposed to meet at some point? I was thinking we should. I have an idea I'm just tossing around. Maybe dragging Steve into it, too.

So far as the OD is concerned, I guess I'll whip up a VTC to see about those Hawks. Tian Xia has already pulled its ship back, and I imagine the OD will stand down the Hawks. But might as well make it explicit.

I agree, a massive world with a large number of NPCs compared to players would allow for the fun times, which is what this should be all about.

To be honest, the fantasy stgod probably failed because the game was all about beating up barbarian kingdoms :P

Unless, of course, we had actual strong NPCs controlled by game moderators...

Well yeah. Pushover NPCs aren't any fun. When me and Steve were discussing it awhile back, I basically had the idea that, if they were sitting on any valuable resources, strategic land, or that sort of thing, their ability to kick your ass would go up appropriately. So there'd be a balance of weak NPCs and strong NPCs.
