Yes we did spend an entire 1250 posts not playing the game but planning it.
Have at it.

I think that's a pretty good summation. My weeks of hostipal duty is nearly over, so I can resume to full active kickassery!

Um, no. I'm either an island nation, or if people are going to continue to be butthurt over that concept, I'm working on a different continent with the help of Beowulf, Wilkens, and possibly Steve (who didn't give me an answer yet).

Well, there's plenty of room for 5 or so continents. I would dare say the scale for the last game was really too small. I would like to have a diversity of aircraft.

Islands can still be part of a continent though: see Shroomania, which is an island nation ala Great Britain. Still, it won't hurt to have another continent in the mix -- plenty of nations need a place somewhere on the map...

Wasn't there an idea of an archipelago between the two primary landmasses?

I think the best measure to this problem of islands and land masses is to have several continents, or several groups of large island masses together or something of the like. Each continent will have its own interpolitical dynamic and I say, spread them out evenly with their own problems etc.

Okay, so my history post
shot itself in the face out of despair while I was editing it to add WWII. So I had to make another one
I've decided to just describe WWII from the PeZookian point of view, and let everybody else scream bloody murder if I miss crediting somebody or do something wrong, so that I can add it later on
EDIT: On island nations: come
on, people! What's the problem? So some people are somewhat less vulnerable to attack: but they are also massively dependent on sea lanes staying open, or they starve (literally or industrially
)
I don't think this is gonna be a problem.

My Camp
Maybe we can reverse the situation of War of the Worlds 2? Maybe with the war happening first in the New Continent, with Shepnukistan and the Old Dominion, and the MESS and Japistan and the archipelagos.
We would then try to support them, but we still have to watch the Shadows.
Then something-something and then we get our own Pearl Harbor analog and go to war with the Shadows.
Oh, and if we DO go with a Pacific War - then Shroomania will have to extend itself in defending its colonial or post-colonial properties. Which would play into the hands of the Shadows.
EDIT:
As for island nations, I think it's okay.
Maybe Shepistan and the Old Dominion could occupy a rather large land mass, maybe it's own continent - ala Australia (but halved into Pakistan/India analogies). Then we could have Rogue's nation, plus the other island nations and archipelagos and former colonies and MESS guys forming a cluster of small, medium and large island nations.
Sort of like the South East Asia + Australian area. Pacific war! Island to island fighting! Fuck yeah!

I exceeded the character limit...so I press "preview" and WHAM - empty post. Then I started screaming in terror, but it turned out pressing "back" in FireFox saved the post.
Crisis averted!

Well, I ripped off WWII straight down, but I can easily move the Old Continent part of the ballet to a later date in the war if people like the idea.

Maybe Byzantium should finally intervene.
But let me think about how best to do this.

I was thinking something like that Mexican Telegram: Itler gets the arab states to pounce on Byzantium, promising them aid. The Arabs do, and surprise the Byzantines a bit.
Then we can have desert warfare, and the Afrika Korps and all
Meanwhile the Byzantine Navy wages war on the high seas, while the Shadows mercilessly pound Shroomania from the air. Eventually, a MESS ship is torpedoes, the MESS gets more and more involved in the fighting, whch culminates in a landing in PeZookia to liberate the country.
At the same time, Stas can get involved and smash Itler's teeth in with a hammer.
And sickle

Possibly. Well, the Arabs should know that I happen to be the main extractor of oil from Arabia, any stupidity from them will result in the destruction of the taps, along with any revenue.
What can be done rather, is that Shadow and their allies attempt to make a grab for Arabia to get the oil. Arab Caliphates are unable to fight off the invasion, prompting a Byzantine retaliation who come to the aid of their partners. A war of sorts erupts, with Byzantine mobile armies surging through the desert clashing with the blitzkrieg head on. Blood is spilled, before the invaders realise they were bleed lots of troops.
Of course, that means I will be fighting on the northern frontier with the navy fight the Shadow navy head-on.

I added a new bit to my history describing the years between the wars. Should set the stage for a MESS alliance.

I think too many of us enjoy writing stories. This is fast turning into a mini-story of sorts.
EDIT: Just a quick question: How many C-17s or An-124s (They are Strategic transports, right?) will it take to transport 60 LAV-IIIs, or BMP-4s?

To be more precise, I'm working on a force structure for my airbourne units, and well, I was thinking of mechanising them, i.e.
Airborne Division
7200 parachute troops (8 units)
3 BN field SP arty
4 BN utility helicopter
2 BN attack helicopter
2 BN heavy lift helicopter
60 IFV (Mix of AAV, IFV, Fire Supp)
32 Light ADA
Total: 27 pts
So essentially I want to figure how many transports I need to deploy the whole lot on the fly.

Added a religious dynamic to the war. The Patriarch of the Shadow Empire was declared to be a schismatic heretic, and thus declared anathema.

Two things:
1.I'm going to add this to the "Build your nation" thread, that fine?
2. This is using the points laid out by Beowulf's system, correct?

I think that's supposed to replace the army section of my system.
