It's a new day
Remember kids point high powered lasers away from your eyes and towards the godless Shroomians!
Because Safety Aardvark says so!

For all the folks eagerly thinking that getting Canissian THEl equipment will somehow really get them in the game just remember that the MESS as a whole isn't going to hand out military tech until a half generation or so after we've figured out how to beat our own systems

Well, a hearty "fuck you" to them, then.
Alright, FTO. Let's get cracking on this SHEL stuff...

I'll pass on the Laser Race, I still have a sonic death ray to fund.
Speaking of races, did Siege basically kill the F1 season?

Some of the cars got destroyed, but none of the racers, and as I understand it F1 teams are supposed to have backup cars just in case something like this happened. So a few racers may have stiff necks and such but the season should go on more or less unhindered.

Why cryogenic cooling?

Didn't Skimmer attempt something similar? With.. some noble gas I believe? I think it was an IRST if I am not wrong.
I was under the assumption that most IR detectors would perform better with the sensor cooled to improve signal to noise ratio. Some photon detectors if I am not wrong operate similarly.

That's an IRST and it was a compressed argon loop. I'm not sure if it was actually cryogenic.

Yes, they do. Why are you putting a cyrogenically cooled system on a small missile?

Well, this company claims to have put together a kit for military use.
http://www.ir-nova.se/
Otherwise, I'll just have to source for another method used for cooling. Maybe some TEC. Or source for a more sensitive sensor that doesn't require as much cooling etc.

For the record Siege, even Singapore has 6 diesel submarines. It is smaller than San Dorado, with economy about 200 billion thereabouts. So no, 16 isn't too many considering how much ocean there is...

Didn't the AIM-9 use to use a liquid nitrogen system to cool the seeker before launch?

Well, if I'm going to do this coast guard thing I might as well do it properly- so who's selling mid-shore and in-shore patrol vessels again? Fast attack craft are preferred, and they don't have to have SAM launchers aboard: think coast guard work. The worst they'll be fighting is pirates with RPGs.
I'm looking principally for a mixture of short-range fast sprinters and longer-range vessels with better endurance, since it would seem a mixture like that guarantees the best coverage (and this agency would patrol pretty much the entirety of North Frequesue).

I was selling, but I have a feeling your friends in the FTO would demand you "Buy Frequesue!"

That's kind of why I'm asking. Although my preference would go to buying Frequesuan I thought I should at least see what the rest of the world is selling. Your ships may just be better suited for the task at hand.
I know that a while back both
Karmic Knight and
Shinn Langley Soryu advertised some of the types of ships that I'd be interested in, but there were some really odd price differences between the aforementioned ships- Karmic sold a
Gepard for 300 million, whereas Shinn sold it for 60. Now I'm all for buying local, but one ship for the price of five is pushing it
.

But yeah.. I am however open to licensing the design to people.

Yikes, haven't you got something smaller? A Gowind for the kind of low-intensity patrols I intend to be running sounds like royal overkill to me.

I threw in a 600tonne ship with comparable specs to a Visby for good measure actually with speed up to 50 knots. So essentially there are 5 ships, from 600tonnes to 2500tonnes. The ships are designed to be modular from the start. So just pluck and chuck what you want into it, even locally designed weapons. So essentially, we license the hull design and engines etc. leave it to you to figure out the rest.

So CATO is the SNC, but with more Shroom? Hm.
Ah well. So long as you don't leave the naming of things up to him I suppose it works out for all of you.

There's a
Brad Pitt reporting for Worldwide One? That's brilliant!
I always thought they'd be more subtle in their bias though, but then again this is a human interest story so they're probably laying it on thick on purpose
