SDN Wars: A Galaxy Divided-- OOBs

STAR WARS: A GALAXY DIVIDED

It is a period of uncertainty in the Galaxy.

After the rebirth of the CLONE EMPEROR at BYSS, all the major remnant factions of the GALACTIC EMPIRE came together to assault the fledgling NEW REPUBLIC. All Major characters were killed in a dramatic assault on CORUSCANT, just two years ago.

Left behind were many smaller Factions of worlds that banded together for mutual security in the new era of uncertainty. Some tried to rebuild the EMPIRE; some tried to rebuild REPUBLICS; some tried to re-ignite the SEPARATISTS; while some remained INDEPENDENT.

Now, these Factions try to survive in a turbulent future, where politics, wars, diplomacy and brinkmanship could determine survival for the GALAXY...

Here, we list our starting factions and provide a brief rationale for how they came together. State your current ruler, the form of government (Imperial, Separatist, etc) and we can build from there.

Star Empire of Manticore

The Star Empire of Manticore is the result of one man's vision, competence, and drive. This man is Emperor James I, formerly a Line Captain in the Imperial Navy. After the Emperor was reborn, he quickly took his Star Destroyer to Byss, where he re-joined Imperial operations, serving as a commodore at 2nd Coruscant. After the New Republic and Empire destroyed each other, he rallied several ships and vowed to create a new Empire from the ashes of the old, a dream the planetary governors of Carida and Bilbringi signed on with as soon as his nascent fleet appeared in orbit. Thyferra, Sleheyron, and Sluis Van likewise joined, though not under threat of bombardment, and the security and increased living standards provided for subjects of the Star Empire has smoothed the ruffled feathers left by the Empire's initial formation.

Kuat Imperium

Image

Brief History

In the aftermath of the collapse of central authority in the Empire, Hadrian Kuat of Kuat, determined to preserve Kuat Drive Yards' corporate dominance, re-assumed authority over the shipyards of Kuat and re-asserted its authority on worlds that were aligned with Kuat Drive Yards. Many company aligned worlds of Kuat Drive Yards were either subsumed by local authorities, or were seized by what was left of the Empire and Republic. Only Rothana and Gyndine remained part of the Kuat conglomerate. While his Imperial sympathies were evident, Hadrian Kuat of Kuat was determined to forge an independent future for Kuat Drive Yards, free of Imperial and Republic interference over his corporation's operations.

The Kuat Imperium has two main objectives: To preserve the power and independence of Kuat Drive Yards and its associated companies, and to gather strength and potential allies to fight off any attempts to take control the shipyards. To that end, the Kuat Imperium has managed to gather a number of former Imperials who swore allegiance to the Kuat Imperium and added their ships and crews to Kuat Imperium's existing sectorial defence fleet.

Idealogy

Corporatist in nature, yet passionate about centralised authority and hungry for power, the Kuat Imperium is determined to forge its own sphere of influence. While it has sympathies with Imperial factions, the Kuat Imperium is ready to do business with Republic factions, so long as they leave the Kuat Imperium alone and not interfere with the Kuat Imperium's internal affairs, or trade affairs. Attacking a Kuat Imperium convoy would invite the Kuati Navy's intervention.

Worlds

The center of the Kuat Imperium is of course Kuat itself. With a ring of shipyards and factories, and most of its moons used solely for mining, the factories are capable of churning out a prodigious amount of components and products, necessary to power ships and to drive them.

by The Romulan Republic
The Rim Alliance.

History:

As the Empire fell apart and its power weakened on the Outer Rim, a group of insurectionists rose up on Tatooine, seizing control of the planetary garrison and expelling the outlaws and pirates that had up until then been the dominant force in the region after the break up of Imperial power. Their new government was formed in the belief that the Outer Rim needed to organize itself rather than depend on the Core worlds, whose rule had been at best weak and indiferent, and at worst had seen the Rim worlds as a cheap source of labor and resources away from the political centers and scrutiny of the Core. Realizing that in a galactic government, the Core worlds would always hold the bulk of the population and the most developed worlds, the new Alliance signed a charter offering protection to any world in the Rim, Wild Space, or the Unknown Regions that joined them, while laying out a charter of rights such worlds would enjoy under their control.

As might be expected in times of crisis, even a marginally stable and secure state attracted refugees. With little hope of resettling them on barren Tatooine, the Alliance annexed Dantooine and established a colony there. A major coup was capturing the former Imperial military-industrial worlds of Kamino and Geonosis. Another major victory came when Kessel and its moon were captured, the criminals who had controlled it in the absence of the Empire expelled. Recently, the Republic has established an outpost on Mykyr, which is in the process of signing an agreement that will bring it into the Alliance.

Government: The Alliance is a fairly loose Confederacy in matters concerning domestic policy, but military matters are firmly under the control of the central government on Tatooine. Each planetary member elects a representative to send to the Alliance Council on Tatooine, which is overseen by a sepperately elected President, known by the title of First Consul. The First Consul is charged with making various appointments and engaging in high level diplomacy, though his actions are subject to the review of the Council. Budgetary matters and other beurocratic business are the job of the Council. The federal government is further subdivided into four main agencies: Defense, the Civil Service, the Judiciary, and Foreign Affairs. Each agency is overseen by an official appointed by the President and approved by the Council.

Their are a few incentives to joining the Alliance. First, it offers protection in the form of a star fleet which has experience expelling pirates and war lords from where they're not wanted. Second, it allows easier access to the Alliance's state hospitals and academies, in a time when many Imperial-run institutions may no longer be available. Third, it garuntees trade opportunities with the other member worlds. And finally, it garuntees basic rights and due legal process, a rare commodity in the Outer Rim at most times in its lawless history.

Especially appealing to some is the fact that the Alliance has outlawed slavery, and is much more rigorous in its enforcement of these laws than the Republic or Empire ever were.

Characters of note:

First Consul Kossan Mical.

Little is known for certain about his past, but the most reliable accounts state that he was the son of a Naboo mother and a father from a minor rim world, born aboard a freighter as his parents were returning to his father's home system. He grew up with a reputation as fairly studious, a quiet academic, and was admitted to the Academy on his planet at the age of 16. However, he adopted a radical political philosophy, and was eventually expelled, whereupon he followed in his father's footsteps and joined the planetary militia of his increasingly pro-Sepperatist home world. At 21, two years before the start of the Clone Wars, he became a Lt. in the new Sepperatist Planetary Security Forces. In the CIS he was found to have an aptitude at intelligence analysis, rose to the rank of Commander by the third year of the war, and was given command of a corvette. At 26, he became one of the youngest captains in the CIS fleet and one of the few human captains at the Battle of Coruscant, where he commanded a communications frigate. At the end of the war however he disappeared, vanishing into the Outer Rim until he emerged on Tatooine after the Battle of Endor, leading a resistance that eventually expelled a weakened Empire from the planet. During his exile, he had adopted the desert world as his new home, and had come to see it not a barren waste land but as a world of wasted opportunity and limitless potential. He argued that for millenia the Core worlds had abandoned the Outer Rim, seeing it as nothing but a worthless backwater at best and a source of cheap, exploitable labor and resources at worst. Furthermore, he argued that due to the numbers and industrial might of the Core worlds, the Rim would have no voice as long as it remained part of a Galactic government, Imperial or Republic. Accordingly, he presided over the creation of the Rim Alliance, offering protection, justice, political representation, and humanitarian aid to any world willing to accept his limited Federal authority. His full background however is little known, though his reputation as an intelligence analyst-translated to political manuvering-is well respected many in the Alliance.

Captain Erik Janson.

A young but promising officer of the Alliance Starfleet. The only son of freighter pilots, he has worked aboard space craft since he was a small boy, and is familiar with piracy and the black market. He agreed to join the militia on Tatooine to get his parent's ship out of impoundment, and was subsequently placed on the fast track by a superior who considered him a promising officer. He has recently been promoted from Commander to Captain, while continuing to command a heavy escort task force headed by the Dreadnought Freedom's Hope, his flagship. Its most recent assignment has included the escorting of Ysalamiri shipments to the Imperial Remnant.

Justice Commissioner Garret Remman.

The chief law enforcement officer in Republic space, this former local official is considered one of the First Consul's most trusted Administrators. His position is also among the most dangerous, as he tracks down criminals who have long operated with impunity in the Outer Rim, and even former Imperial leaders. Several high-priced contracts are believed to have been taken out against his life.

Ira Zan.

Ambassador for Myrker in its bid to join the Rim Alliance. She is devoutly loyal both to democracy and her home world, but heavily skeptical of the Alliance and bitterly opposed to the Geonosis delegation.

Tira Wessel.

Chief of the Council committee overseeing the Civil Service, in charge of Infrastructure development in Alliance space. One of the more talented engineers and administrators in the Rim, she was unable to find work outside of the black market under the Empire, due to associations with suspected Rebel sympathizers.

Admiral Djerik.

CiC for the Alliance Defense Force. An old CIS friend of the First Consul's. Cynical, ruthless, but with a strong loyalty to the First Consul and decades of military and combat experience.

Minister Rossan.

The Alliance Minister of Defense, he is somewhat at odds with Admiral Djerik, but is considered effective by most of the Council thanks to his managerial skills.

Minister Tasari Leigh.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs for the Rim Alliance.

Kyp Durron.

A former prisoner of first the Empire and then wanted criminal Moruth Doole, Kyp was one of many freed by the Alliance when its fleet drove out Doole and his cronies from the Kessel system. With nowhere else to go, Kyp decided to sign up with the Alliance fleet. He has spent most of the time since training in the Kamino system, and is now a fully-trained starfighter pilot serving aboard the Alliance Dreadnought Freedom's Hope, under Captain Erik Janson.

Unknown to most of the Alliance military is the fact that Kyp is a powerful Force-sensitive, albeit one with only very slight training and control. This likely accounts for his possessing greater ability as a pilot than anyone else in the fleet of his age and experience. This information has been classified in order to protect Durron's safety. Their is some debate among the commanders and the Council as to weather they should try to find someone to train the young soldier's abilities more fully, but due to the lack of a clear Council policy on Force-sensitives and the concern that Sith or Imperial factions might target Durron if his abilities were known, little progress has been made or even attempted in that direction to date.

Internal Politics:

The Council, despite the lack of formal political parties on the Federal level, is currently dividing into two informal groups: the so-called Expansionists and Patriots. The Expansionists favor foreign alliances, trade, and aid, as well as a strong force projection capability. The Patriots favor isolationism and a focus on building up the Alliance from within. Current planetary representation on the Council and suspected partisan leanings are as follows:

Tatooine: Expansionists. This is likely due to the strong local loyalties to the First Consul, who has shown a tendency to favor Expansionist positions.

Dantooine: Expansionists.

Kessel: Independent.

Kamino: Patriots.

Geonosis: Independent.

Myrkyr: Independent, leans Expansionist.

Until recently, only Tatooine, Geonosis, and Kamino held full member status and a vote on the Council. This arrangement granted Geonosis considerable leverage in many votes, as it would often form the tie breaker. This lead to talk from the Expansionist quarter about granting the Dantooine delegate full voting rights, a move which was ultimately justified by Dantooine's increased importance in the Alliance. The political situation also generated great concern over the planned admission of Myrkyr into the Alliance, as this might upset the current balance of power. Both moves were ardently opposed by Geonosis, seen by some as a sign of leanings towards the Patriot camp, and by others as simply a cynical bid to maintain their own power. However, both worlds as well as Kessel have now been granted full membership status. While this has clearly strengthened the Expansionist camp and potentially aided the First Consul's policy plans, the ardent opposition of Geonosis and Kamino and the Geonosian delegation's expressed determination to obstruct future resolutions backed by the Expansionist camp and the First Consul has bred considerable hostility and disunion in the Council and Alliance politics as a whole.

Worlds:

Tatooine: the capital planet, and a minor world worth 100 points.
Dantooine: an average world, worth 200 points.
Kamino: a major world, worth 400 points.
Geonosis: a major world, worth 400 points.
Kessel: a minor world, worth 100 points.
Kessel's Moon: a colony, worth 50 points.
Myrkyr: a minor world, worth 100 points.

Total points: 1,350 points.

Armed forces:

The military is divided into the army, marines, and navy, alongside local police forces. The Republic fields four Sector Fleets, though they lack the power of their Imperial equivalents. Each one can be broken down into three main groups tasked with different duties: Fleet Combat and Planetary Assault, System Defense, and Transport and Escort Duties.

Note: All Alliance warships bear the designation "AFS" (Alliance Fleet Ship) before their names.

Ground Forces:

The Alliance's ground forces were originally an outgrowth of the Tatooine Liberationist Militia, and thus equiped mainly with unarmed or lightly armed speedes and other repulsorcraft such as any minor crime lord or civillian might possess. Their weapons were rag-tag, an odd assortment of civilian and black market blasters and explosives with the odd piece of outdated light artillery thrown in. Over time, the Alliance's military arsenal has grown, encompassing the Navy, Alliance Defense Force (sub-divided into the regular army and special forces), and the Marines, as well as the Planetary Militias.

The Alliance Defense Force consists of two main field armies (each subdivided into a heavy repulsorlift division, an artillery division (equivalent to a heavy division), one light repulsorlift division (heavy infantry using lightly armed converted civilian vehicles for rapid transport), and three light infantry divisions), as well as Planetary Garrisons1, and a special forces division currently under construction. The Red Guard is a special forces unit composed of the most skilled and trusted veterans of the Tatooine Liberationist Militia. They can be identified by their oddly flattened, box-like helmets, red-topped helmets, red armbands, and red-trimmed cloaks, as well as by their expert marksmanship and hand to hand combat skills. They form the Council and First Consul's guard, and are also charged with security at various Federal buildings and increasingly for foreign VIPs.

Regular Army (mobile forces, not including planetary garrisons):

2 repulsorlift divisions=14 points to raise, 4 points to maintain.
2 light repulsorlift divisions (heavy infantry divisions)=12 points to raise, 4 points to maintain.

The Bothan Confederacy
Partial Restorative Republican Faction

Following the collapse of Neo Republican Authority, the backbone of the Bothan Confederacy Formed. Signing a pact of mutual interests, the Dresselian Senator of Dressel, the Human Senator of Bestine IV, and the Bothan Senator of Bothawui had met in a Kothlis manor to discus the NeoRepublcian Regime and its failings.

The Pact formed the basis for later Confederation, and as soon as the Confederacy of Bothawui, Dressel, and Sluis Van became official, the Bothan Spy Network worked to shove planets in Bothan Space into the Pact, renaming the Pact the Bothan Confederacy. Spies later successfully initiated a peaceful takeover of the planet Ylesia from the Hutts, driving the Hutts to selling the jungle planet to the Confederacy cheaply.

Government:

The Confederacy is ruled by a council of a Bestine Councillor, a Bothan Councillor, and a Dresselian Councillor, with numerous undercouncillors from the nonmajor settlements and from various organizations affiliated with the Confederate Council.

The Temporary Stellar Authority of Balmorra

The TSAB is the result of a 'bloodless' coop by the mercenary group who had initially been hired to defend Balmorra during the Fracture. When the governor decided that paying the Mercenaries was not in the interest of Balmorra and 'forgot' to pay them they decided to remove him from planetary control, and install a temporary government. That was a year and a half ago.

First Authority Council
Speaker: Cirrus Writhe, Interior Affairs Minister [human female Balmorran native]
Minister of the Fleet: Tähti Kaja Captain of the Line (retired) [Morganian male]
Founding Officer Elect: Gus Antipater Master Sargent (retired) [human male]
Minister of Foreign Affairs: Haig Ukaleq [Elomin Male]
Chairman of the Funding Council: Terho Abena [male Twi'lek]

Internal Affairs Ministry
Consists of the bureaucracy necessary to govern a Nation. The Department of Peace is made up of the enforcers and Police of the government. The House of representatives has little power, except over the Constitutional Trust (writing the formal documents of Governance) and the Court Justice Assembly (Central Court system). The Mid-Childan Governor Bast Alvorost is the acting under minister.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Diplomatic Corps, leader Arthur Signus. First Intelligence Division, Division Chief Quintillus aka 'Chrono.'

Fleet Ministry
Second Intelligencee Division, Division Chief Raelene Halstein. Commander of Armed Services: Admiral Kistna (Rodian male).

Founding Officers Club
The FOC was the true owner to the original mercenary company that occupied Balmorra. Since the Occupation they have lost power due to the limited ability to override other elements of the TSAB government. In effect the Club acts as a House of Lords who get to elect one of their members to the First Council for a year. Since most of the Officers in the TSAB military get the opportunity to join upon retirement the club is quite large.

Funding Council
De facto Economic Authority for both Balmorra and Foundry, makes budget proposals, imposes tariffs. Does not have full power over the Mid-Childan Economy. Balmorran Arms has an Industrial Observer seat on the Council.

So Commodore Alicia Testarossa is Liaison between Armed Services of Balmorra and Department of Peace Enforcers and as such has joint service.

 Balmorra (homeworld) lead by a council headed by Cirrus Writhe

Planetary Defenses
All minor worlds and Average worlds are defended by Twin Golan 1 platforms (10 platforms)
Balmorra has a Golan 1 and a Golan 3
Foundry has a Golan 1 and a Golan 2 and 1 wing of Starvipers

THE LEAGUE MILITAIRE
A Republic Faction

HISTORY AND BACKGROUND

The Tapani Sector was the site of some of the most ferocious fighting of the last stages of the Galactic Civil War, as the nascent New Republic attempted to protect the prized Fondor shipyards from Imperial forces intent on taking them back. While the Republic defenders ultimately succeeded in their task, their victory was a Pyrrhic one, as many of the facilities had been destroyed during the fighting, and the entire sector had been ravaged during the Imperial advance; the Tapani Noble Houses were all but wiped out, and only a few worlds in the sector had managed to survive relatively unscathed.

With the authorities of the New Republic and the Galactic Empire both broken, the Republic forces in the Tapani Sector decided to strike out on their own and consolidate their control over the few intact worlds left in the sector; dubbing themselves the "League Militaire," they established Fondor as their capital and managed to unite Mrlsst, Tallaan, and the former sector capital of Procopia under their banner. The League then started to expand its control along the Rimma Trade Route and beyond, claiming the worlds of Abregado-rae, Moorja, and Vandelhelm and setting up outposts on the twin planets of Kiffu and Kiffex and on the remote world of Phu. League reconstruction efforts in the Tapani Sector proper started off slow but are now progressing at a steady pace.

While nominally aligned with the values and ideals of the Rebel Alliance and the New Republic, the leaders of the League Militaire are pragmatists first and foremost; they are not above cooperating with Imperial remnants if they share common goals and interests. Their equipment is largely Rebel Alliance/New Republic standard (they can call upon literally thousands of X-wing fighters to fill its capital ships, for instance), though they also make use of significant amounts of former Old Republic, Imperial, and CIS materiel, all modified to their exact specifications. In addition, they also make some use of materiel produced by the notorious Zann Consortium criminal syndicate, though most of those acquisitions were either salvaged from abandoned Consortium operations or seized by force from Consortium operators foolish enough to assault League space; the League takes a very hard line on interstellar crime and would never willingly associate with organizations such as the Consortium.

The Core Protectorate
Imperial Splinter Group

HISTORY AND BACKGROUND
The Core Protectorate (Or "CP") is an Imperial splinter group formed when Admiral Rowan took control roughly a third of the defensive fleets of the Core worlds. However internal divisions lead to a quick splintering of the this Empire and within the month the Core worlds fell apart as some planets went independent, others fell to rogue New Republic forces or opportunistic Pirate and Mercenary groups. Admiral Rowan moved his remaining forces to the Chandrila system. At first because it was one of the few system not in active revolt or on the verge of it. In the end however it became his strong base of operations not by design but by need. While power struggles ranged in and around the core world the Chandrila system was a bit of calm in the storm. Knowing how much the Chandrilians could undermine him, Admiral Rowan worked to keep them passivised. Meeting several times with the interim government set up when the former Imperial Governor was found to be trying to turn Admiral Rowan's men against him and had to be subsequently executed.

A strange sort of peace has fallen on this sectors which used to form the Perlemian Trade Route going from Courscant to the outer-rim. Admiral Rowan has retained control of the Corulus system with it's mines and refiners. The Esseles system with it's large manufacturing base. And the Brentaal system the lynchpin of the old trade route. Large transhipping point and well know smuggler friendly system. In each system Admiral Rowan's policies are different. On Chandrila he maintains a strict hands off approach. The local authorities are largely free to run themselves, Rowan collecting only the former Imperial taxes and using no drafts or other harsh measures. Any ships leaving or landing on the planet must past through very strict inspections and violators are chased down. But once on planet the Chandrila's idyllic lifestyle has not changed one whit. Minus the displays in shopping areas recruiting for Rowan's Armies(Re-titled Core Defense forces or the CDF) it seems like the Fracture never occurred. On Corulus it is the same, people work, they are paid and life goes on. On Esseles and Brentaal the signs are evident. Esseles is working flat out with large industries being retooled to provided support to Admiral Rowan's fleets while Brentaal is busier than ever as refugees flee the fighting elsewhere and pass through CP setup screening. Those with valuable skills are offered the chance to be put to work on Esseles or Brentaal itself. Those without or with nothing are moved to low-technology worlds along the route and largely left to look after themselves. The CP is providing them with tools, food-stock and some assistance but at basic humanitarian levels. However non-human discrimination is occurring. Bothan's and Twi'lek are both being turned away at the border by order of the Admiral even as other non-human species travel freely. However must stick to Brentaal itself.

The CP government is a lash up of military dictatorship and planetary rule. Each planet rules itself in name but Admiral Rowan has the ability to over-ride any decision they make, but almost never uses it and the two times he has used it to date he made good use of the remains of the Holonet media to appear as flexible as possible. In fact his present use of the remains of the Holonet news is nothing short of masterful. The fact that he was a bare year ago a full Imperial Admiral is not mentioned. Imperial soldiers walking the CP's worlds wear less threatening uniforms cut in a new style to emphasis that the CP was set up to defend these worlds from the ravages of a galaxy gone mad. Storm-troopers remain but are nowhere to be seen planet-side.

Note fleet status
The Core Protectorate's fleet is a mobile force and due to the closeness of worlds and the advantages of hyperspace lane a ship can go from Chandrilia to Esseles in under an hour via hyperspace. So any notations of ships assigned to worlds is only in the theoretical. A trio of ISD's assigned to Corulag might spend as much as forty percent of their time in the Esseles or Chandrilia systems. However they are home ported in those systems for purposes of resupply.

The Core Protectorate is a union of these systems in a common defense pact. Security is provided by the The Core Protectorate Navy (CPN) with Admiral Rowan as the CinC of the Navy and the Core Protectorate Army (CPA). They aggressively hunt pirates, slavers, and smugglers in and around all of the systems of the CP. Whenever a Pirate, Slaver or Smuggler is captured, much is made of it in the local system and such statistics and broadcast to the entire Sector. More and more, word of the CP is getting out as a bad place to engage in pirating and slavery is just suicidal as none of the planets in the sector have legalized slavery, even of Wookies. Leading to drying up of all Pirate and Slaver activity in the sector. Smuggling however is up, but only in the Brentaal system as the Justice system there is stacked in smugglers favor and from Brentaal all kinds of goods are flowing to the other worlds. Problem smugglers "accidentally" lose there ships while awaiting to stand trial in Brentaal and are ether then sent to one of the refugee planets or left to sign up with another group working from Brentaal.

Free Democratic People's Republic of Haven

Following the collapse of the Empire, a charasmatic demagogue named Robert S. Peters came to power in Lianna. He declared the Republic of Haven, and has joined several other planets to his nation. He was supplemented in power by the remainder of the Katana fleet, which was given a home after the death of Grand Admiral Thrawn.

The Imperial Remnant

A short history
After the desperate battles of the Core, several worlds sent ships into that region. Some tried to claim territory, others tried to help and many just tried to grab what they could and run. Baron Ragez D'Asta's private fleet had just entered the Coruscanti system when he received a distress call of a Bakuran help convoy that was busy trying to search the battlefields for survivors and was now beset by pirates. Disgusted with attacks on civilian ships, the Baron proceeded to vanquish the bandits. Shortly after that, a fleet of ships led by Nahdonnis Praji arrived and laid claim to the former jewel of the galaxy. He was however persuaded that it would be better to bundle resources as his own fleet lacked transport ships and had to defend his holdings as well.

As a result, the Treaty of Coruscant was signed, which established the Imperial Remnant.

Planets and systems:

The imperial Remnant currently holds 11 systems with the following planets:

Bakura (Average world)
Image
After the Battle of Coruscant, the Bakurans remembered that it was only due to the help from the Rebel Alliance that they were able to defeat the Ssi-ruuk incursion. They decided to help the galactic worlds in return.

Although among the smallest worlds in the Remnant, the Bakurans quickly became known for their idealism and their willingness to help others. Lead by Prime Minister Gaeriel Captison and her husband, Admiral Thanas, they have made their opinions count on the political stage and have apparently dedicated their industrial output to rebuilding the core. A more cynical observer of course would note that the Bakuran economy is dependant on repulsorlift exports and that repulsorlifts are a prime component of industrial reconstruction and cleanup efforts. Nevertheless, the Bakurans are a voice for democracy everywhere.

As Bakura is almost cut off from the Galactic Core, most of the Bakuran fleet is used to guard the trade and supply convoys running from and to Bakura.

The Bakura system has a total of 8 Planets and 10 moons, one inhabited planet.

Current infrastructure:
1 Resupply Station
1 800m shipyard
1 Research Station
1 holonet station
3x fighter wing:
- 92 TIE Fighters
- 36 TIE Bombers
- 36 TIE Interceptors
- 36 Assault Gunboats
Planetary shield installation
10x Surface-to-Space Weapon (8 Turbolaser, 2 Ion cannon)
1x full Defense Army of Light Infantry :
Bakuran 1st Army

Axum (major world)
Axum has largely been overshadowed by its twin Anaxes. However, it's industrial output was far greater than that of Anaxes, a fact that prompted the Remnant to focus the reconstruction efforts on this planet. Now, Axum is a glorious success of the reconstruction program and its citizens are vivid defenders of the Remnant, with Governor Jurang Saenger leading the charge.

The Axum system has a grand total of eight planets and one space station, which was destroyed.

1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th Axum defence armies

Anaxes (destroyed major world)
Image
The once proud defender of the core has been heavily wrecked due to the fighting, the beautiful and majestic landscape being scarred by turbolaser fire. As part of the campaign to restore civilization, Anaxes is one of two major planets being rebuilt by the Remnant. As such, all planetary resources as well as a good share of the output of other planets are geared towards reconstruction, but estimates say it will be years before the planet regains it former glory. As reconstruction work was paid in full in the first fiscal year, the planet has regained all of its defences, but is still depended on reconstruction money and cannot yet add anything to the budget. Reconstruction will be complete in six gameyears.

Anaxes is located in the Axum system.

Kaikielius (average world)
Kaikielius is another planet situated on the Koros Trunk Line and the seat of Marshal Praji's command. A core founder planet, it was reconquered by the Imperials, with the the clone Emperor appointing Praji as Governor-General of the world.
Much of Kaikielius is a shadow of its former glory, though it suffered surprisingly little damage in the war. The inhabitants credit Marshal Praji with keeping them safe, a perception that is helped along by the vast sums of money members of the Praji family have poured into their new holding. After decades of decline, Kaikielians feel that a return to former glory may be possible.

Kaikielius is the only inhabited planet in the Kaikielius system.

1x full Defense Army of Light Infantry :

Ruan (major world)
Ruan is a huge agriworld situated on the Koros Trunk Line and is the system closes to Coruscant.
After the corporation owning this huge agriworlds was destroyed in the war, Marshal Praji convinced Ruan to join the Remnant for the purposes of securing food exports and security. However, due to the need of feeding the starving populations of Coruscant and Annaxes, prices were soon fixed and the industrial output of Ruan was largely directed to those planets.
These days Ruans are deeply divided about their role. While recognizing the need to pitch in, the former days of glorious profits are something most yearn for. As part of Praji's zone of control, Ruan mostly sides with the conservatives in the council.

Ruan is the only inhabited planet in the Ruan system.

Foerost(major world)
Home of the Foerost shipyards, some of the oldest and largest shipyards in the galaxy and situated on the Koros Trunk line. Foerost is one of the pillars of the Remnant, providing most of the ships used by both the merchant marine and the Imperial Navy.

Foerost is the only inhabited planet in the Foerost system.

Ryloth (minor world)
Image
The newest member of the Remnant. Ryloth's admission into the Remnant was a subject of heavy debate among the council, with Praji and the core worlds voting against it, whereas the idealistic Bakurans argued for the inclusion of the Twi-Leks. Amidst accusations of rascism and blinded idealism, Feena D'asta organized a compromise – Ryloth would receive membership, but no resources allocated for the core worlds would be spend in their defence. Therefore, the defences allocated to Ryloth can just hold off the slavers, but have little defence against an attack. However, the Remnant is confident that the threat of going to war is enough of a deterrent against any major power. Due to the circumstances of its joining the Remnant, it will usually side with Bakura in major debates. Ryloth is represented by Clan Leader Kandon Secura.

Ryloth is the only inhabited planet in the Ryloth system, the colony on the sister world of Or Truma having been wiped out by slavers.

- 1st Rylothian Defence Division
- 2nd Rylothian Defence Division
- 6705th Imperial Garrison Division

Nez Peron (major world)
Nez Peron is the capital world of the D'Astan sector. Despite being a agriculture world, it is also the seat of D'Astan shipyards, who originally specialized in building transports and cargo ships. It is currently governed by the Baron Ragez D'Asta, the galaxy's most wealthy shipping magnate and owner of the largest privately-owned fleet in the galaxy. As the D'Astan sector is self-sufficient, it is often thought of as the last option for a retreating Imperial force. Convoys from here to the core are guarded by the Baron's private fleet, which is usually enough to deter any pirates.

The Nez Peron sector is filled with planets, however they all serve to service Nez Peron.

Ord Cantrell (average world)
Despite having little industrial output, Ord Cantrell is renowned throughout the galaxy for its luxurious resorts and beautiful landscape. It is a planet for diplomatic gatherings and the de facto capital of the Imperial Remnant.

Ord Cantrell is the only inhabited planet in the Ord Cantrell system.

Timora (colony)
A planet which mainly exports sunpetals and serves as a transit point for Bakuran repulsorlift exports. It always sides with Bakura due to the close bond between them and is in fact represented by Gaeriel Captison-Thanas of Bakura.

Timora is the only inhabited planet in the Timora system.

Baramorra (minor world)
Image
A temperate, dreary, rainsoaked Imperial planet governed by Leena D'Asta. The planet was captured by the Imperial Remnant from a despot, Boss Banjeer, who has primarily financed by Grappa the Hutt.

2 planetary Turbolasers
4 Squadrons of TIE Fighters
2 Squadrons of TIE Bombers
1 brigade of Stormtroopers

Coruscant (destroyed home world).
Image
The galactic capital lies in ruins. Scores of destroyed ships litter the system and the planet itself has suffered surface bombardment beyond belief. Among the wasteland that is the former ecumenopolis stand some districts untouched by war. However, most of the planet has been made into a gigantic slum, with Imperial patrols being barely able to keep up order. Free distribution of food and shelter has helped to ease the greatest suffering and the reconstruction effort is in full spread and consumes billions and billions of credits, though of course it seems to many as if the effort is futile.

Coruscant is still the de jure capital of the empire, though estimates indicate it will be years or even decades before reconstruction is complete. A large part of the job of the Coruscant garrison is to keep salvage from impacting on the planet as well as finding out which wrecks are salvageable. So far, they have had little success with the latter.

Coruscant is one of 11 planets in the Coruscant system and the only one left with living beings on it.

The Imperial Government.

The Imperial Government is located on Ord Cantrell for practical reasons, these reasons being that Ord Cantrell was a neutral ground and that it was located far away from the turmoil of the Core.

Although the Bakurans keep pushing for a nationwide election system and the New Imperial constitution does in fact provde for one, this has not been implemented due to the desperate times. Instead, elections are held on the planetary level and the winners of those are sent to represent the worlds on the Imperial Ruling Council. However, as only the constitutions of Bakura, Ryloth, Timora and (on the local level) Naz Peron provide for elections, some members of the council have been representing their planets without ever having stood for election.

Under the new Imperial constitution, there is supposed to be a seperation of power. Yet since the new Imperial senate and the new Imperial Court has not been convened, the Imperial Ruling council fulfills both roles.

The Imperial Ruling Council.
The highest authority of the Imperial Remnant, the IRC is the highest legislative, executive and judicial power. All council members are immune from judicial persecution and only answer to the council themselves. All matters of foreign as well as matters of higher domestic policy has to be decided by the council.

The council has to surrender its authority as soon as the legislative, judiciary and executive branches of the Empire have been rebuilt. As this is dependant upon the reconstruction of Coruscant, a lot of people have started to consider it a permament institution and some council members reportedly would hate to surrender their power.

The current seat of the council is Ord Cantrell.

Voting and factions

The council is divided into voting members and non-voting members. Voting members must represent at least one planet or be a senior official of the empire.

Voting members:
- Ragez D'Asta, representing Naz Peron and its sector (2 votes)
Ragez D'Asta is the Regent, the head of the Remnant in lieu of an Emperor. Though rumors keep circulating about his health, he still takes part in all proceedings. As the regent, his vote carries tie-breaking and veto capabilities. A pragmatist who lives by his word and his personal honor. With the conquest of Baramorra, his vote tally has been changed to two.
- Nahdonnis Praji, representing Kaikielius, Ruan and Foerost (3 votes).
A former acquaintance of Lord Vader and, he is the former Governor-General of Kaikielius. Praji represents the faction most steeped in Imperial ideology and is generally considered a ruthless but efficient bastard.
- Gaeriel Captison-Thanas, representing Bakura and Timora (2 votes).
Gaeriel Captison is the most idealistic of the council members and the most passionate voice for civil liberties on the council. As such, she has made many friends and many enemies.
- Jurang Saenger, representing Axum (1 vote)
A confidante of Baron D'Asta, he was only recently evelated to a voting member of the council after reconstruction of his world was complete. Saenger is prone to bouts of arrogance, but is said to posses one of the best political minds in the galaxy.
- Mahd Windcaller, representing Ord Cantrell (1 vote)
A ruthless media enterpreneur, she has been heavily hit by the collapse of the holonet. Thus it is her utmost desire to rebuild the holonet, something she has not been very succesful with. Her representing Ord Cantrell was a compromise made by the majority of the council.
- Kandon Secura, representing Ryloth (1 vote)
The last male decendant of this noble clan, Kandon Secura is a striking figure. He once led the fight against slavers on his home world. Now that at least part of the Remnant is committed to defending Ryloth, Secura is trying to ensure this protection is not short lived and if possible, even expanded.
- Daine Jir (1 vote)
Commander of the Imperial Army. Another of Vader's former aides, he is diligent, ruthless, and efficient. Was included as part of the compromise admitting Ryloth.
- Mirith Sinn (1 vote)
A former Rebel commander, infiltrator and intelligence operative. This Nez Peron native who was pulled out of the rubble of a collapsed Coruscant building by D'Astan SAR parties. She is now head of the Imperial Intelligence agency and the closest friend of the Baron's daughter. She was elevated to a voting member in recognition of her successes as head of Imperial Intelligence.

Non-voting council members:
- Pter Thanas, Commander of the Bakuran Navy
Husband of Gaeriel Captison and leader of the Remnant's anti-slavery efforts. Third in command of Imperial forces after Baron D'Asta and Daine Jir.
- Feena D'Asta
Daughter of D'Asta and head of the (until now largely useless) diplomatic corps. She negotiated the entry of Ryloth into the Remnant and is considered to be the next addition to the voting members. Has survived at least one assassination/kidnapping attempt.
- Leena D'Asta
Clone of Feena D'Asta, who is officially presented as her twin sister. She is currently governing Baramorra after helping Feena to escape from a Black Sun kidnapping attempt.

The council is usually split into four factions:
- The conservative element, made up by Praji and Jir. The elder D'Asta is also said to be leaning towards them on most issues.
- The idealists, consisting of Captison, Thanas and Sinn. Secura is reportedly leaning into that direction.
- The pragmatists, lead by the three D'Astas and Saenger, who often try to play peacemaker between the factions despite their personal beliefs.
- Mahd Windcaller is a faction unto herself and votes to whoever promises her the most.

Other important people:
Image
Link to larger version

1. Guri, special Assistant to Moff Saenger. The HRD was recruited by Saenger in the effort to rescue Feena D'Asta. She also is essential to the Imperial Research project on Axum.
2. Admiral Massad Thrumble, head of Imperial Research on Axum.
3. Captain of the Line Hunt, Ambassador to the Cultural Union.
4. Commander Ganner, Imperial Intelligence
5. Rear-Admiral Leonia Tavira, commander of Imperial Intelligence flagship Invidious. Her existence has not yet been made public. As far as everyone else is concerned, neither she nor the invidious exist.
6. Jensaarai Defender Aiella (not depicted), Ambassador from the Jensaarai. The Jensaarai have decided to sent her to the council in order to help them judge whether the Remnant is worthy of their help. She seems to have developed a special interest in Marshal Jir. She currently is not a member of the Remnant and refuses to take part in any action.
7. Ambassador Lorth Trun (not depicted): Ambassador to the Golden Republic
8. Ambassador Mara Ossilege (not depicted): Ambassador to the Republic of Nysacia

Ideology
The Imperial Remnant considers itself the heir to the Galactic civilizations of the core, especially the heir of the Galactic Empire. However, it is willing to deal with anyone friendly and is generally non-aggressive towards others. When provoked, it will strike without mercy.
The Imperial Remnant is non-expansionist, but will ensure that nobody dares challenge it within its system. The Remnant considers itself to be a shining light of civilization and culture and thus obligated to help wherever possible, a hybris that has led it to less than wise deployments (e.g.: Ryloth). The conservatives question this course and would have the Remnant to return to more traditional ways.

The Concordat Alliance is a collection of planets in the Chommel Sector that have banded together for mutual security. Queen Saviya, at 14, is not the youngest Queen to serve as ruler, but she is typical of the Naboo tradition of selecting young people, especially females, representing idealism and hope. Queen Saviya is young and idealistic, but no fool, either; she has surrounded herself with wise councilors and forged a new beginning with many neighboring star systems to band together for mutual defense.

Succession so far:
Amidala-> Jamillia-> Neeyutnee-> Apailana-> Kylantha-> Amidala-II (Pooja Naberrie)-> Queen Saviya.

Hosk Station is a major trading port and space station that sprawls across Kalarba's largest moon. The station's close proximity to several influentical systems allowed it to become a center of commerce and political influence. The station was originally built to be a supply and maintenance facility for the Old Republic. It was an excellent choice due to it's proximity to then-new colonies, while the moons low gravity proved useful for capital starships coming in to dock. The system's asteroid belts provided a convenient source of metals and ores.

Transports, liners, and courier ships have come to use Hosk Station as a docking and transfer point. It is typical of many major space station and is so large that it is full community unto itself, with 5 million permanent residents.
The station's interior is filled with starship repair and construction bays. A dozen tractor-beam projectors are mounted near the main docking bay clusters. Incoming ships are required to slave their computers to the starport controllers and allow the tractor beams to handle docking procedures.

As a safe haven in a desperate hour for the Rebellion, Arbra earned the nickname "Salvation." They launched many missions against the Empire from the world during their stay. The location of Arbra was kept top-secret, and the Rebel base on its surface was heavily secured. Though the planet was never attacked by Imperial forces during the Rebels' stay, there were close calls, and Arbra offered its own share of dangers.

After the Battle of Endor, Arbra remained a member of the Alliance of Free Planets, and later the New Republic.

The Gordian Dominion (The Sith Empire)
Imperial Splinter Group

Image

The Gordian Dominion is a minor government that rules benevolently over several planets in the Gordian Reach and at the end of the Daragon Trail. The Dominion appears cordially peaceful if isolationistic and very insistent on the privacy of its domains. It prefers to stay out of interstellar matters and the galactic spotlight as much as possible, as befits a comparatively small power from the Outer Rim.

That is how things appear to be.

In reality however the Dominion has been subverted by Sith infiltrators and is now controlled by the new Sith Empire, resurgent on Korriban. On that dark and ancient world does Hariman Jacht, Dark Lord of the Sith, chart the course of his hidden imperium. Already he has captured many of the ancient Sith planets, whose secrets the Dark Lord hopes to use to bring about his dream of galactic domination…

Supreme Battlefleet of the Sith Empire
The Supreme Battlefleet of the Sith Empire is the pompous name for the hidden forces of the secret imperium that actually controls the every move of the Gordian Dominion. It is a force of brutal warships, marked only with the sigils of the Sith with no apparent link to the Dominion. For years now the Battlefleet has operated in the cracks and fissures of galactic history, striking from the shadows to quickly disappear, leaving few survivors and even fewer clues to its motives or origin. The Battlefleet is under direct command of the Dark Lord himself.

The Etti Alliance: A Theocratic Republic
With the fracturing of the galaxy governments became smaller, factions becoming numerous. A charismatic Corporate Sector Authority General (and former Imperial Agent) named Mollari Thul brought together like minded commanders and administrators, people who saw the potential of the core worlds of the Corporate Sector. So they initiated what they termed “a hostile takeover”. After the right people and corporations had been convinced over to Thul’s side, others had been blackmailed, and others suffered unfortunate accidents, the Corporations ceded direct control of the Sector to what had been termed ‘The Etti Alliance’, a confederacy of worlds governed by Thul himself. To make the transition easier, he allowed the Corporations remaining in the new Alliance a place in the ruling structure, convening a Board of Directors which would be able to handle certain aspects of the Alliance’s policy, much like the Moff Council. To balance them, Thul also implemented an Alliance Senate, where the people could have a voice. However, despite these voices, the actual decisions would come from Thul himself, based on what he considered to be “the Will of the Force”. To cement this power, he has begun the establishment of ‘re-education centers” to teach the people the ways of the Force, as a religious tool, a tool which places those such as Thul, and Thul himself, as emissaries of whatever deities the average person believes in.

Total Cost: 5 points.

Alliance Armed Forces (2 Heavy Divisions, 1 Heavy Infantry. Based out of Etti IV):
The main ‘regular’ army for the Alliance, its doctrine is to hit fast and hit hard. The Infantry complements the heavy weapon platforms of the armor, providing a strong invasion and counter invasion force. Total Cost: 24 points.

The Templars (Elite Heavy Infantry, based out of Etti IV): Modeled after the Imperial Stormtrooper, this Heavy Infantry Division is the pride of the Alliance. Stationed with the Home Fleet, these shock troopers have been able to crack through rebellious planetary strongholds time and time again. Cost: 11 points

Jump Squad Alpha (Elite Repulsorlift Division with Heavy Infantry, based out of Ession): A blueprint for a “rapid response force”, Jump Squad Alpha’s main mission is to protect against incursions to the Ession Shipyards. Cost: 13 points

The Alliance Knights (5 Jedi Knight equivalent, 18 Jedi Padawan equivalent, based out of Etti IV): Honoring the traditions created by Master Thul, his followers scoured the Sector to find beings capable of becoming the commanders and masters Thul has deemed those who can control the Force should be. So far, 25 have been found, five of which are capable commanders and warriors, the rest still in training. Part Ambassador, part general, these Knights are tasked with finding and eliminating all threats to the Alliance, while expanding their influence and religion. Cost: 275 points.

Alliance Marines (Light Infantry, based out of Kalla VII): This squad of soldiers aids the Border patrol in securing hostile ships. The Marines are split according to Corp strength, each distinct Corp aiding a specific Flotilla. Cost: 5 points.

Persons of Note:
Emissary Mollari Thul: A former Imperial Inquisitor, Thul received a vision upon the Emperors death, a vision of his dogma and philosophy coming from the Corporate Sector to grace the millions of worlds of the galaxy. A charismatic man aided by his mastery of the Force, Thul was able to convince the corporate military commanders to aid him in his “hostile takeover” of the Sector. Note: With his Imperial training, Thul should be considered equal rank to a Jedi Master. Cost: 20 (counted in Army Costs)

Lord General Mathas Teth: One of the earliest recruits into the Alliance Theocracy, Teth fully believes in the path laid out by the Emissary, Lord Thul. Leading the religious efforts and church, Teth’s power is second only to Thul’s. Some whisper that he may even have more.

Ambassador Tal: Is he a man, or a droid? Perhaps a sorcerer or Jedi. No one really knows, and Tal isn’t saying. He wears a protective atmospheric suit at all times, capable of stopping medium range blasterfire. More akin to speaking in riddles then plainly, one would think he would be a bad ambassador, but the Emissary heeds his words more than any other. The official Ambassador to the other factions, Tal will likely be the Alliance representative to whichever faction gains galactic prominence.

Admiral Willam “Nexu” Adama: A former Republic fighter jockey, Adama was disillusioned by the Corporate Leaders. A commander of one of the frontline Frigates, he rose into prominence in no small part to his leave no man behind attitude and inventive tactics. Adama now commands the main Alliance Fleet.

Commodore Shen Kel: A former Corporate Sector Authority officer, Shen Kel aided the rebellion by turning off or otherwise sabotaging key listening posts and other early warning systems, allowing the strike against the Corporations to succeed. More comfortable behind a desk then in the field, the Commodore is a good military commander, but not very aggressive. As such, he’s made a good fit for the Alliance Border Patrol.

General Zaayn Kahn: Overall army commander, Zaayn Kahn was one of the first of the CSA commanders to go over to Mollari’s side during the takeover. Given command of the land based forces, Zaayn plans to expand his army as rapidly as possible, beyond the limits the CSA once imposed. He has command of all soldiers except the Templars and Knights, which remain under Thul’s personal command, with Teth as their field commander.

Here are the NPC factions.

Extra rules for those factions:
- They will be roleplayed by the mods.
- They are not bound by the limits on points, world or ships.
- If you want to feature them in a story, PM the mods.
The Mon Calamari

History: The Mon Calamari have withdrawn into isolation after the battle of Coruscant. Consolidating their sector, they have nevertheless become one of the great powers of the galaxy. They fiercely defend their territory and any being foolish to approach them with hostile intent will be met with deadly force. They have also become somewhat xenophobic after having sacrificed so much only to be met with futility. The Mon Calamari are lead by the MonCal senate, whose president is Menion Barakra.

Purpose of this faction: This faction will serve as a foil to Imperial plots and also allow republic factions to built MonCal designs, if the players wish it so. They will be roleplayed by the mods.

Planets:

The Mon Calamari currently hold the sector of the same name. Notable planets of that sector are:

The Dushkan League (Yevetha)

History:

The Yevethans are a former Imperial slave race who revolted against their masters and captured parts of the Imperial Black Fleet. They are highly xenophobic and genocidal. Having overthrown their masters and being emboldened by the state of the galaxy, they have carried out their plans for genocide early. Their main goal is the complete destruction of every race except their own. The Yevethans are fanatics and will not surrender under any circumstances. They cannot be bought, threatened or bargained with. As such, Yevethan militia won't scatter if confronted by a superior force.

They are lead by their darama (the chosen one) Nils Spaar, who has vowed to rid the galaxy of every Imperial.

Purpose of this faction:
This faction will threaten nations close to the core, with their planets being very near coruscant. Therefore, they are a direct threat to the Imperial Remnant.

Fleet

The Black Fleet
The former Imperial ships have been taken over by the Yevetha when they were relocated to the Koornach cluster for completion/repair/maintenance. It is under the personal command of Nils Spaar. The current structure is as follows:

1 Executor-class star Dreadnought (Pride of Yevetha, formerly HIMS Intimidator)
2 Aramadia class star dreadnoughts. (Kuat clone war design study with slave-rigged droid circuits. 3200m long, considered the equivalent of an Allegiance class in firepower, with the added advantage of carrying 1 wing of fighters. Named units: Aramadia, Purity).
16 ISD II
26 ISD I (named units include former HIMS Redoubtable)
1 Dominator class cruiser (HIMS Imperator)
5 VSD I (Devotion of Yevetha, former HIMS Valorous)

1 Interdictor (Splendor of Yevetha)
EX-F (imperial testbed design, rebuilt Dreadnought)
3 Vindicator class cruisers (Devotion, Liberty, Honor, Star Dream)
1 CR-90 corvette (Beauty of Yevetha)

All ships carry D-fighters.
Total number of D-fighters carried: 3684

Yevethan fleet

352 Yevethan thrustships (Dreadnough equivalent)

The Yevethans decided that their thrustship was superior to any other design and it was the biggest ship they could manufacture on a planet. Each Yevethan thrustship carries 40 fighters, for a total of 14080 fighters carried. The D-fighter is a space superiority fighter with no anti-starship weaponry and the equivalent to the TIE-Interceptor with a superiority in atmospheric flight. The Yevethan doctrine believes in the Black Fleet providing main gunnery support and fighters playing a secondary role. If need be, Kamikaze attacks can be carried out.

Usually, about 44 thrustships accompany the Black Fleet into Battle.
The Hutts.

Purpose of this faction:
To serve as the all-around bad guys and to serve as a convenient target for players to rail at and to bash their heads again. Oh, and to be a constant source of pirates. Arr.

The Hutts have had a great time after the fall of civilization. With no Empire or Republic around to enforce those pesky things called laws banning all manners of profitable behaviour, they have flourished. Ruled by great hutt clans, they have expanded their sphere of influence, but not their territory. They prefer it to rule through intermediaries instead of risking their lives. Nevertheless, in the words of one Coruscanti officer, “there is not a single criminal enterprise in the galaxy that does not have a hutt behind it”.

With the primary terrain being muck-lakes, the planet is home to the force-resistant Toydarians. Because so many Toydarian fly around, the use of speeders is illegal with spaceship traffic being restricted to specific areas. Most Toydarians travel around a light-rail system that is connected to every city. Besides that particular piece of technology, very little galactic-level technology is in use on Toydaria as most Toydarians prefer to live in their low-tech villages.

Sevarcos II
Sevarcos is the only source for the spice variants carsunum and andris, which are also the planet's only export. The planet is wracked by annual earthquakes and violent sandstorms, which are the reasons for the planet's nickname “The World of Endless Wind". During the time of the galactic empire, the planet was under constant Imperial blockade with trade being restricted. The Imperial governor and current lord of the system is Velnar Raftin, whose domestic policies hinge on a relationship with the spice lords of Sevarcos. Raftin is a ruthless but efficient leader and has managed to keep his forces intact. Of course, the vast amount of spice sold by the world, produced by slaves and prisoners, allows him to call on a great number of resources.

The Hapans
The Hapans have retreated into their cluster. Isolationist to the extreme, they view the outside world as something that is not to be trusted. Still, a player careful enough might be capable of gaining their trust...and managing to even make them built ships or sell ship designs to them. They favor Republic factions and distrust Imperials.

The Hapans are ruled by their Queen Mother, Teneniel Djo, a witch of Dathomir. The Royal House is supplanted and challenged in power by the three Duchas, AlGray, Galney and Requud.

Hapan fleet

The Hapan fleet is divided into four sections – the Royal Hapan fleet and the private fleets of the three Duchas. As the Hapans are descended from pirates, their style of warfare is an endless stream of piracy as well as hit and run attacks. They prefer to avoid pitched battle – when forced to do so nonetheless, they rely on a massive first strike capability.

Royal Hapan fleet

1 Royal combat Yacht (Star Home, 2500m)
12 oversized Battle Dragons (Heavy Cruisers, Son of War class, 700m)
252 Battle Dragons (Cruisers, 500m)

Federal Republic of Nysacia

An independent state/New Republic splinter faction.

The Nysac Sector has a long and colorful history, only slightly diminished by the fact that it has never before been a major player on the galactic stage. During the final days of the Galactic Civil War, the Expansion Region was one of the few regions of space still controlled by the reeling New Republic. Following the New Republic's collapse, most of the New Republic Defense Force assets throughout the region went rogue or linked up with one of the other Neo Republican splinter groups, but a significant minority saw fit to remain. The newly independent Federal Republic of Nysacia, terrified to be without the protection of a larger hegemony, was only too happy to offer them a home. Now the people of Nysacia are both free and secure, finally possessed of enough military power to defend themselves. Despite being aligned with the New Republic before its collapse, the people of Nysacia do not consider themselves beholden to any of the other New Republic splinter groups and are more than willing to play nice with Imperial remnants. For the most part, the demoralized and war-weary NRDF personnel are just happy to have a home to fight for, even if it isn't their own.

Recent History

During the Clone Wars, Nysacia remained loyal to the Galactic Republic, but was loath to host Republic military bases or commit its own forces to the war effort, lest they become a strategic target for the Confederacy. Instead, Nysacia rose its own army, hoping to deter the more aggressive Separatist factions. Nevertheless, the Nysac Sector's sizable economy was enough to attract the Confederacy, and the artificially weak Republican presence made her low-hanging fruit indeed. Nysacia fought well for such a small power, but ultimately fell to the almost limitless resources of the CIS. By the time Nysacia was liberated, the Galactic Republic was now an Empire and the Imperial forces sent to "liberate" Nysacia never left.

Under the Empire, Nysacia remained loyal to Coruscant, and things were never bad enough to warrant supporting the Alliance. Even when Alderaan was destroyed and the Imperial Senator for Nysacia sent home, Nysacia remained quite cordial with its own relatively sane Moff governor. When the Galactic Emperor died, all of that changed. Support for the Imperial State, now dominated by the psychotic Ysanne Isard, plummeted. Even Nysacia's Imperial governor refused her synchronization orders, and began courting both the fledgling New Republic and the Warlord Zsinj for protection.

The New Republic won out, and while the ex-Imperial governor was allowed to retain his position, his authority was greatly diminished and the Dominion of Nysacia was able to dust off its old signage. During this phase of the war, Nysacia began rebuilding its military and reasserting its own authority in domestic affairs. When the Empire resurgent launched its Coreward blitz, Nysacia remained aligned with the New Republic, but had secret plans to capitulate if it looked like the Empire would win. No one at any level of Nysacia's government or intelligence community predicted the annihilation of both superpowers, and with neither a republic or empire to protect it, Nysac Sector found itself at the mercy of petty pirates and warlords; that is until a sizable remnant of the NRDF approached them, hat in hand...

Government

The Federal Republic of Nysacia is a parliamentary, representative democracy with devolved governments at the system, planetary and municipal levels. A popularly-elected president serves as head of state, with a prime minister, elected by parliament, as head of government. Matters of diplomacy, law enforcement and warfare are the responsiblility of the president, while the prime minister approves legislation and appoints government officials. The president is elected for terms of twelve standard years, with no limits on the number of consecutive terms. The prime minister can be unseated by a simple majority vote in parliament.

Members of parliament are popularly-elected. Many and varied political parties are represented, but these tend to fall into the conservative Isolationist camp and the liberal Interventionist camp. The Isolationists are wary of other galactic powers and favor policies of neutrality and protectionism. The Interventionists favor free trade, diplomacy and expansion in general. On domestic issues, there is not a lot of difference between the two camps. Both favor increased militarization and democratic socialism is deeply entrenched in Nysacian politics. The most recent federal election has been a sweeping victory for the Interventionists.

Military

The Federal Nysacian Armed Forces are comprised of two branches: The Federal Nysacian Army and the Federal Nysacian Navy (capital ship designation FNNS). Aviation is divided between the two.

The military was decimated during the Clone Wars, and formally disbanded under the Galactic Empire. After joining the New Republic, Nysacia was mostly secured by the same ex-Imperial forces, but the FNAF was finally resurrected, at least on flimsi. For most of this period, Nysacia was reliant on the New Republic Defense Force for protection against pirates and ex-Imperial warlords. The Nysacian economy was still recovering from the collapse of Imperial rule and the tax payers were loath to fund a serious invigoration of of the FNAF.

During the Empire's resurgence, Nysac Sector became a major NRDF staging area. While the sector was never contested, the New Republic ceased to exist. The tiny, underfunded FNAF suddenly found itself the proud new owners of a large, modern and war-mobilized military. Currently, over 88% of the FNAF is former NRDF, so Neo Republican military doctrines and hardware abound. The new budget necessary to support the armada artfully made new production possible, and the Navy is looking to offer Kuat and non-hostile Imperial factions a chance to bid against Mon Calamari. For the Army, plans exist to phase out the NRDF hardware and reorganize along Imperial lines.

Planets

Nysacia Prime (Federal Capital, Homeworld, 600 pts): The historical capital of the Nysacian state and the sector capital under the Galactic Republic, Galactic Empire and New Republic. An ecumenopolis that served as the commercial hub of Nysacia. Ruined by the CIS during the Clone Wars, Nysacia Prime was rebuilt by the Empire, and the planet's native inhabitants have strong Imperial sympathies to this day. Its economic role has been supplanted by Oured, but the planet still serves important administrative functions as the federal capital.

The planet Lumen is a verdant, agricultural world which, together with Lecroia, makes Nysacia self-sufficient. Lumen produces enough grain to feed both Ardolia and Nysacia Prime with enough surplus for export, though domestic markets enjoy primacy. During the Clone Wars, the CIS was very careful to take the planet intact, so little reconstruction was necessary.

It was control of the factory planet Ardolia that attracted the Separatist invasion during the Clone Wars, and it was Ardolia that played host to the heaviest fighting. Ardolia has just finished rebuilding its orbital shipyards, and the factories on the planet's surface are tooling up to churn out equipment, supplies, weapons and vehicles for the newly-expanded FNAF.

After the devastation of the Clone Wars, most of Nysacia Prime's commercial and financial centers relocated to the then-minor world of Oured. The sector capital remained on Nysacia Prime, though tellingly the Imperial governor lived on Oured. Today, Nysacia Prime is much more livable and economically productive, but idyllic Oured is often referred to as "the real capital" of Nysacia.

Together with Ardolia and Lumen, Lecroia made the Nysac Sector very attractive to the CIS.

The Great Cultural Union of the Galactic Core

Image

A short History of the Cultural Union:
Both the Trade Federation and Arakyd Industries, a subsidiary of the Techno Union, set up operations on Vulpter during the last centuries of the Republic, with the latter taking the planet as its headquarters.
After the fall of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, the Vulptereen used the left-behind technology to construct various spacehabitats to escape their polluted planet. At first, these were private bussinesses, but soon public interest began to take over and Meanwhile, more and more labour was done by droids.
Within a decade, the planetary population of Vulpter had been halved, while its industrial putput had been trippled.
After the destruction of Alderaan, the space habitats became highly priced by all kind of refugees. They were small, seemingly insignificant targets, but still offered a high standard of living.

After the fall of the Galatic Empire, the inhabitants of Vulpter and its space colonies forged The Great Cultural Union of the Galactic Core – a highly technologic society where scarcity was mostly unknown, defended by its remote location and automated armies.

The Culture of the Union
Most citizens of the Culture do not have to work for a single day in their whole life. They can enjoy an abundance of living space, food, clothing, toys, entertainment and personal servant droids. However, most of them engage in various activities and learn a couple of trades during their lifetime.
The only working populace lives on the outer colonies. However, they are mostly mechanics, maintaining a vast force of droids and overseeing new constructions.

The droids population of the Cultural Union is notable. More than two dozens droids for each human (or similar lifeform) inhabit the colonies, with even higher rates at the habitats and Vulpter itself.
These droids have high level of independence - most are maintained by other droids, and some do not see a human in for months or years.
Most administative tasks are in the hand of droids, though there is a small administative staff overlooking their decisions.

In general, the Culture has been peacefull and isolationistic. However, the recent years of warfare has sparked quite some public interest - as all fighting is done by droids, less than 100 humans died during the struggle to bring down the imperial remnant.

Vulpter – Capital Planet
Homeworld

Image

These days, Vulpter is mostly inhabitated by droids. Its living inhabitans are about 50% Vulptereen, while the rest is a mix of all possible species. For every living being, it is inhabitated by a dozen droids. While these droids enjoy a great deal of independence, they still have to do an important job – providing the inhabitants of Vulpter with nearly every material good.

The ten great space habitats of the Cultural Union are nearly completely automatised. Droid-driven ships deliver ores and other raw material from asteroid belts or the mining colonies. Automated foundries produce nearly every commodity. And each and every system is run an maintenanced by highly sophisticated droids.
The habitat itself is heavily armored and is protected by an nearly impenetrable shield. Its surface is filled with automated guns and hangars for droid fighters.
The space around the central habitats blisters with defensive plattforms and automated shipyards.

(OOC: I'm working on some background for several main characters, but don't have enough yet to post. Just means it will have to come out in the story line I guess)

The Golden Republic is a coalition of "old worlds", worlds that had been a part of the Republic since it's inception or for several thousand years. United in their common history and desire to see the "Golden Age of the Republic" return once again. Lead by a charismatic Force User these worlds will strive to bring about the ancient glory of the Republic through diplomacy or force of arms if necessary. However while they are willing to take whatever steps needed, they realize that a union built upon violence is less likely to survive then one built on diplomacy and mutual shared interests.

The Military of the Golden Republic is mostly made up of ships that the Empire had left to guard their worlds. Several worlds were able to requisition more powerful or advanced craft due to their importance. Like all military assests these ships and fighters were re-deployed for the mutual protection of the GR.

Over the entire history of the Old Republic Alsakan challanged Coruscants dominance seventeen times. Now that Coruscant has been devestated the Alsakans feel that their time has come. As an ecumenopolis the Alsakans bring political prestige, immense manpower and some manufacturing potential to the GR. Arkania land of legend. This planet was adopted homeworld of the Arkanians a race of highly intelligent beings who love to tinkier with genetics and cybernetics above all, but are exceedingly good at anything they turn their keen minds too. While not a founding member of the Old Republic Arkania has been one of it's members for around 4,000 years. Once the home to a Sith Library long since destroyed and too Master Arca Jeth's Praxeum also long since gone. Arkania brings it's technological and biological genious to the Golden Republic as well as high value exports of medical supplies, technology as well as raw materials and diamonds. Arkania is the adopted homeworld of Jos Kor after his parents death. Yaka once a client world of the Arkanians will probably be courted soon for full admittance into the Golden Republic.

The members of the Golden Republic realized that knowledge is power so the approached Obroa-skai appealing to their sense of history and need of protection in the time after the Fracture. Onderon:
Another old world of the Republic, Onderon joined around the same time as Arkania. Known for it's might beast riders, and warriors of great strength, Onderon also used to be a stronghold for the Dark Side. The moon Dxun may hold an enclave of traditional Mandalorians, but since they haven't been heard from in a thousand years this is highly unlikely. Onderon is the military heart of the Golden Republic. Her doughty soldiers and sailors make up a disproportionate number of the higher ranking officers and staff NCO's in all branches of the military. The Onderonion uniform was adopted with slight modifications by the new Golden Republic Armed Forces.

The Pragmatic League
New Republic Remnant
Image

With the end of a centralized New Republic, many of the territories which had thrown their lot in with the burgeoning government reverted to independence, or even to Imperial control. For the boot of the Empire rested but lightly on many necks, and the ideals of the Rebellion were hardly universally popular. But it must not be forgotten that for many, Imperial rule was utter tyranny, and the Rebellion was a cause which was fought for with revolutionary zeal. There exist states in the Galaxy which are still dedicated to the eradication of Palpatinism in all it's forms and the establishment of the Republic as a galaxy-spanning superstate.

Sullust was one such state. Under the exploitative rule of the SoroSuub board of directors, the Sullustan people had seen their proud independence swept away, replaced with the rule of absentee landlords. All the more galling, the corporation had been a source of immense racial pride before Palpatine's laws ripped it out of the hands of the proud local elite. With the collapse of the New Republic, the powerful Sullustan senate faction took action, arranging for the movement of Republic military forces to Sullust, brokering deals in concert with other politicians from the region. This clique of sentors and politicians consider themselves to still be a part of the New Republic- their current military and economic independence is merely the result of a prolonged state of emergency back in the Core. They signed the Pragmatic Decrees, laws of dubious legality placing the assorted systems of the League under the unified rule of a Commission for Public Safety for the duration of the emergency- i.e, until the re-establishment of the Republic on Coruscant.

Under the direction of the Commission, the Sullustans and their local political allies intend on pursuing a long-term anti-Imperial policy, with the eventual goal of re-establishing the Galactic Republic on Coruscant.

The Rump Senate

The Pragmatic League considers itself a direct continuation of the New Republic- or more accurately, the Pragmatic League considers itself the legitimate authority empowered by the New Republic to manage the Sullustan and Seswenna sectors until the end of the emergency. Backing up this rather slender legal pretense is a rump Senate which meets on Sullust- perhaps some 50 delegates, many from systems outside the jurisdiction of the Commission for Public Safety, meet at Provisional Hall on Sullust. Although this body is completely toothless- the only area which falls under it's current jurisdiction is under the rule of the Commission- it is viewed as a seed from which the Republic could be reborn in full. Public opinion is extremely divided as to the legitimacy of the rump, to say the least.

Member Worlds
(1 Homeworld, 2 Majors, 3 Average.)
The Pragmatic League's worlds are in the Rim, but they are clustered in the relatively economically important and densely settled series of trade crossroads near the Seswanna sector.

Sullust

Homeworld:
The homeworld of the Sullustan people. Transit-hub of renown. Launching-point for the attack on the second Death Star. Sullust is the core of the Pragmatic League and the seat of the Commission for Public Safety. Additionally, the huge SoroSuub Heavy Industries shipyard complex there builds vessels even as large as the Dauntless-class heavy cruiser.

Defenses:

Eriadu
Major:
Eriadu was one of the most important Imperial worlds out on the Rim. The home-world of Wilhuf Tarkin and a highly racist, human-centric populace, it was taken by Republic forces during some of the recent brutal fighting. A number of long battles in orbit trashed Eriadu's shipyards, but the planet was largely unscathed and surrendered to New Republic ground forces. When the League took control of New Republic forces in the region, it inherited the occupation of Eriadu- and SoroSuub was not slow to take advantage of the situation, taking control of the surviving shipyards under new management.

-1x Republic Research Station (University of Eriadu)
-1x Orbiting Repair Yard Type II (SoroSuub Heavy Industries)
-1x Resupply Base (Eriadu Port Authority)
Defenses:

Malastare
Major: Homeworld of the Dug race and hosting a large population of Gran, Malastare is a prosperous, multi-ethnic world with strong economic ties to SoroSuub- in other words, a Pragmatic League shoo-in. Malastare is one of the centers of Galactic pod-racing, and has legal gambling. Surprisingly, organized crime on Malastare has not yet been taken over by Hutts, and the gambling incomes wind up in the hands of local crime-lords.
Industry:
-1x Repair Yard (SoroSuub)
-1x Resupply Base
Defenses:

Seswenna
Average:
Once the capital of the Seswenna sector, a change in trade routes a few centuries past saw this bustling trade-world face to unimportance. In the years since, Seswenna became heavily involved with the Rebellion and later, a staunch supporter of the New Republic. Many of the occupation troops on Eriadu are Seswegian.
Industry:
-1x Resupply Base
Defenses:

Haruun Kal
Average:
A beautiful, peaceful world consisting of high plateaus rising out of a poisonous under-atmosphere. The homeworld of Mace Windu. Most of the planet's industry and population actually live in orbiting habitats.
Industry:

Defenses:

Vendabar

Infrastructure

SoroSuub Corporation: The dominant force in Sullustan life is the SoroSuub Corporation. Possessing offices across the Galaxy and wielding tremendous influence in it's heyday, SoroSuub is the primary supplier of armaments for the Pragmatic League, and in fact the owner and operator of almost every factory, firm, and company in the whole region. In fact, every one of the Republic senators who assembled the Pragmatic League were recipients of immense campaign contributions from the Company. SoroSuub's shipyards at Sullust and Eriadu arm the League's fleet. Essentially, SoroSuub IS the Pragmatic League's infrastructure.

Military

The 9th Battle Group of the NRDF were withdrawn to Sullust; since the collapse of the Republic, they have been armed and equipped with powerful SoroSuub vessels, particularly a large force of Dauntless-class Star Cruisers. The NRDF forces in the League are not assigned to local defense fleets- rather, the majority of the NRDF's firepower is focused in mobile strike groups for rapid reaction in force, with only smaller customs and pirate-hunting patrols tied down to systems. The League also inherited the Republic forces occupying Eriadu, in the form of the 837th Army Group. However, besides this small corps of professional troops the League relies on local levies, which have so far proven rather useless as offensive troops. Future operations may require the establishment of a real ground army. Also lacking is a strong starfighter force- though local factories build a large number of X and Y wings of modern design, SoroSuub was never a great designer of snub-craft.

NRDF 9th Battle Group
CO: Admiral Sen Wellbaris (Human, Coruscanti)
Image
Crest of the 9BG

The 9th Battle Group was formed shotly after the Battle of Endor when Rebel forces over-ran an Imperial repair and resupply base in the Kallibrax sector, linking up with Imperial mutineers and bringing a small group of sector patrol Star Destroyers into Rebel hands. It saw heavy action in Kallibrax, during the Coruscant campaign, and against Grand Admiral Thrawn.

Assigned to escort the 837th Army Group, the 9th was engaged with forces of the Pentastar Alignment when Coruscant fell. The 9th recieved orders from the Senate to re-deploy under command of the regional authority at Sullust, it's last orders from Coruscant. Admiral Wellbaris, an Imperial defector and by-the-books career officer, followed those orders and has served the Commission for Public Safety loyally since.

New Class upgrade ships had been slow to arrive with the "Fighting 9th," due to a variety of political and logistical reasons, and as such it's forces contain a mix of SoroSuub heavy units, original 9th BG forces of both Imperial and Republic vintage, and a few dozen New Class warships. The 9th consists of 3 permanent Task Groups, it's main striking power, as well as a number of smaller escort and patrol craft which are generally deployed across the League, engaging in customs, anti-piracy, and convoy protection duties.
