Re: Something big
ECR just posted a detailed description of the refit Black Prince, so I had to have a go at blocking out the shapes.
I don't quite know how the superstructure is set up, awaiting clarification. For now, here's my interpretation (in very rough forms):

Now this is what I've been waiting for! Awesome author and excellent modeler team up to bring us the most distinguished Imperator in His Majesty's Navy!

“This sucks,” Gary said, as the Land-Rams to either side exploded. “I will request a transfer from your command in our next life, Commander.” - Centurion GRY-237427, "The Hunted"

Re: Something big
I like how the Black Prince is such a modified SD, clearly showing the tender loving care of her engineering crew who are obviously very skilled and good at what they do. I look forward to seeing the completed model. (Goes to read all of ECR's work)

Re: Something big
Woa, cool, I didn't know you did Fanfic designs too there Fractal. I mean, I know you make up designs yourself but I wasn't aware that you were taking requests. Not that I have any, since the only one I would make is for a modified ISD. However you are clearly doing that already.
Okay that's not 100% true, I would still love to see an XQ-2 or XQ-5 Platform. Especially one designed to facilitate 3 of those 250m Heavy Corvettes you have been working on lately.

Re: Something big
This does bring up an interesting situation...
Would Fractal ever do a "commission" ? I mean, I know seeing the quality of his work would certainly be something worth paying for

Re: Something big
To clarify: this wasn't a request by ECR. I saw the description and decided to block it out to see how it would look. I'm going to try to stay true to his intentions for it, since I know there are people out there that really want to see that (as do I).
As for commissions, if you can stand massively long turnaround times as my focus changes and curmudgeonly customer support, you can try your luck I try to avoid anything that links this hobby with "work" though, since that pretty much crushes my enthusiasm . If it were interesting enough you actually do want to pay for it and don't mind the above caveats, I'd consider it, but I am dead serious about the crappy turnaround time (and probably the customer support, depends on the day).

Re: Something big
Thats understandable Fractal
I'd have to have something pretty amazing or itneresting for it to be something to seriouslly approch you about. Though as far as "crappy turnaround time" Well shoot, considering your level of work, I couldn't imagine rushing that
On the new pics, amazing stuff. I finally figures out why the ship looks so "wierd" to me. its because there are no "stepps" All the other ISD's have steps, superstructure and bits going up. This one is almost flat other then the bridge, which is growing on me more and more

Re: Something big
What are those things on the front of the big ship? Torpedo launchers? Greebles?
There should be an official metric in regard to stupidity, so we can insult the imbeciles, morons, and RSAs out there the civilized way.
Any ideas for units of measure?
This could be the most one-sided fight since 1973 when Ali fought a 80-foot tall mechanical Joe Frazier. My memory isn't what it used to be, but I think the entire earth was destroyed.

Pursuit tractor beams; the Venator's didn't seem to be any more detailed than that.

Re: Something big
It's the attention to detail that really sets your models apart, I think. The sheer variety in the mundane stuff like plating and greebles really shows how much effort you put in.
Had you thought of doing anything Republican, to go with the Venator and that (IMO) quite good Legacy? Even something as basic as a Republic-era Victory would be nice to see.

Re: Something big
Where can I find more information about that Black Prince and/or ECR?
Thanks!
Edit: I found it. Finally something interesting to kill time at work.

The rebels butchered almost the entire Imperial Armed Forces, destroyed planet Carida, two large space stations, killed anyone who wore imperial uniform, fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, sons and daughters of many billion family in the pursue of "freedom". The rebels are responsible for the success of the yuuzhan vong invasion. One rebel became a Sith Lord and started a Galaxy-scale war.
Do you still think that the Empire is bad?

Re: Something big
I like the hangar configuration. Very aesthetically pleasing to the eye.
