Re: Something big
... Carefully?
My first guess would be that the aft part of the canopy opens to one side, like on a Y-wing. It isn't long enough (unless the whole thing lifts) to open like an X-wing canopy.
Second guess: (drawing from real-world WWII-era planes), maybe the aft part raises and slides forward over the front canopy?

Re: Something big
If you mean the Assault Gunboat IIRC there's a hatch in the bottom the pilots enters and exits thru kind of like with early bombers, the thing is almost the size of a shuttle after all.Khaat wrote: ↑2017-10-19 12:41pm... Carefully?

I'm pretty sure the canopy opens. I'm agnostic as to where the hinge is though.

Re: Something big
Beautiful updates. Naturally, the Allegiance is my favorite of your 4ks so far (I just love this ship and the Bellator), but I am also always happy to see more of the Praetor. Looking forward to the Secutor, whenever it may be spruced up. I also hadn't realized how nice a job you did showing the beefed up nature of the TIE Advanced X1 before - obviously fits with what we are told, but I had not really appreciated it before these renderings.

Re: Something big
Hmm would've expected 1000 guns, but pretty powerful ship still. 3 questions:
1. How many fighters does this have?
2. How large do you thing the imperial navy is
3. Can you do an original design for a tau light tank from wh40k? It'd be cool to see tanks from the tau empire and the galactic empire in tank battles.
Also, can you make more GE tank designs? And try to use those websites I posted for ideas if you can since I'm a YUEG fan of yours.

Legator is 16 240 TT heavy ion, 64 175TT HTL, 698 70TT HTL, ~3e26W power, 50 fighter wings, army sized troop contingent. I'm guessing 2900g, but most acceleration figures in SW are pure speculation.

Could you guys take this to private messages? It's kind of an eyesore to see all those replies going back and forth.
@Fractal: I like the 4k you did for the Impellor-class. I'm assuming that you're planning to do a 4K update for *everything* you currently have?

Very nice lighting effects on the new 4K renders, and what looks like a new metal texture? Good stuff. Also looking forward to seeing more of the beefy Acclamator...

Re: Something big
What niche is that again? An Imperator predecessor/successor? Looks similar in size.
Re: Something big
It's suppose to be a "pocket" Star Destroyer, for when a full ISD is not available or believed needed for a situation. If I recall the stats correctly, it's a semi-replacement for the Victory-class.Crazedwraith wrote: ↑2017-10-26 04:19pm What niche is that again? An Imperator predecessor/successor? Would a carrier version of this (like with the Impellor), work?fractalsponge1 wrote: ↑2017-10-26 10:23amEventually yes.
Since I've been updating models for 4k I realized that that the old model for this really wouldn't cut it (even at FHD), so in the same theme I took some new detail and did a 2-day kitbash again:
Procursator-class Star Destroyer v2:

Re: Something big
The Procursator-class is only 800 meters long...and the design isn't meant to be a carrier. It'd be far better to simply take the Escort Carrier, also known as the Ton-Falk-class, to handle carrier duties.Rhadamantus wrote: ↑2017-10-28 11:46amSpoilerWould a carrier version of this (like with the Impellor), work?
