Is the American Federation reliable?

What do you think of the FAS (The federation of American Scientists)? Are they a reliable organization? It's so hard to tell nowadays, with sites pretending to be scientific. They used to be the federation of atomic scientists, who worked on the manhattan project.

I go there whenever I need any Cold War - present world military info, and near as I can tell it's pretty solid, if a little out of date.
