No the government nuked that. As its not a real religion, has no doctrines, places of worship etc.

More than 70,000 people listed "Jedi" or "Force user" etc as their religion in the census (including me).

The government threatened $2000 fines to anyone that did, as it wasn't a real religion.

They didn't follow through on the threat surprisingly enough.

In the Republic of Turkey they've banned traditional Islamic dress for a reason. It promotes a certain mindset about women that is quite harmful to the women themselves. Therefore I fully support any calls to ban it in western countries. We can't have immigrants to our countries coming in and maintaining their traditions of oppression which are contrary to our culture.

That is an interesting point, but I don't see any reason to 'ban' the scarf, although the full head to toe thing is a little scary...

To discourage them from oppressing themselves yes, but through banning no. It is their choice and their choice alone.

We do not need the nanny-state mentality to worsen anymore than it has now and banning articles of clothing on cultural grounds puts us on par with fundamentalist Islamic countries that mandate what women must wear.
