GTA: Sex in the City

Post by Oskuro »

This morning I read in the news that authorities around the USA are investigating Rockstar's GTA: San Andreas because of possible explicit scenes in the game.
Apparently, a recent pirate "patch" allows the player to watch explicit content previously hidden in the game. Rockstar claims that such content was added by the hackers.

So, the game is being investigated because prosecurtors (And mrs. Hillary Clinton herself, ooooh!) think the 17+ age restriction might be wrong because it would allow minors to see this explicit content (The "patch" can be downloaded for free).

I must say... WHAT THE FUCK?! (no pun intended). So, it is fine for minors to play a game in wich they can pretty much commit every crime conceivable, from theft to manslaughter, but as soon as sex shows up, alarms start ringing and suddenly its all wrong for the young to be exposed to this corrupting influence... Do these people actually think? Or are their ideas dictated by their bowel movements?

Maybe I'm a godless heathen with no morals, but I find it is worse to have a kid play a game where he can beat a pedestrian to death, than a game where he can engage in sexual activities. Of course, my moral-less heathenism prevents me from realising that an activity whose result is usually physical plasure, and emotional interaction, is by far worse than activites that only bring pain and suffering (and hospital/funeral bills).

Or maybe to the rectum... I mean, to the minds of these people, sex brings pain and suffering, and murder is pleasurable and an acceptable emotional interaction with your fellow man.

At least around here (Europe) the game is restricted to 18+ ages. And, personally, as long as the parents are close at hand to make sure the kid understands that it is wrong to beat pedestrians to death, I don't think GTA or other violent games should be a problem. Heck, I enjoy GTA greatly, but I actually feel remorse when I beat a pedestrian to death... I'd rather have the option to try and get into the skating bikini girl's panties, rather than my only option being hitting her with a baseball bat.

I should add a "no offense" line, but hell, all those legislators and holier-than-thou schmuks should be put in line and bitch-slapped by a leprous chicken on esteroids.
