Great, so now are we going to have to establish a neutral zone in Mars's orbit?

I'm all for switching names, so Phobos and Deimos orbit Rhea Sylvia, and Romulus and Remus orbit Mars. That would be so much cooler than a couple of dinky asteroids, and it would be appropriate, too: after all, Mars is their father, is he not?Pcm979 wrote:OT: Great, another 2 perfectly good names wasted on asteroids.
A Government founded upon justice, and recognizing the equal rights of all men; claiming higher authority for existence, or sanction for its laws, that nature, reason, and the regularly ascertained will of the people; steadily refusing to put its sword and purse in the service of any religious creed or family is a standing offense to most of the Governments of the world, and to some narrow and bigoted people among ourselves.

So what you're saying is you want to move the names Romulus and Remus from two dinky asteroids to the two dinkiest moons in the system?Surlethe wrote:I'm all for switching names, so Phobos and Deimos orbit Rhea Sylvia, and Romulus and Remus orbit Mars. Exactly! After all, those two dinkiest moons do orbit Mars, and it's only fitting to name the moons of Mars after Mars' sons, no?Sriad wrote:So what you're saying is you want to move the names Romulus and Remus from two dinky asteroids to the two dinkiest moons in the system?Surlethe wrote:I'm all for switching names, so Phobos and Deimos orbit Rhea Sylvia, and Romulus and Remus orbit Mars. Though I'll admit it'd be a whole lot cooler if Mars had two moons the size of the Moon.
