It wasn't that hard - but i used to do this kind of puzzle for fun when I was a kid. Took me about 20minutes, but I wasn't working very hard. Didn't draw up a grid or anything, because it didn't need one.
I think more people could do it nowadays becasue we know how to tackle logic problems.
Einstein's Riddle?

Zaia, I found pretty much the same thing you did on those sites. That is why I brought my search here, as there are more people here, apparently, that don't take something at face value. Google turned up about 10 pages worth of hits, but they pretty much uniformly presented the riddle, gave the little backstory about the 2% thing and that was it.
I dunno about the idea that even back in his day so few people would be able to solve it. As I said in my first post, I'm very uncertain about the figure because 1) I don't believe Einstein would just pull a number like that from nowhere and 2) I also don't think he would waste his time on research to come up with that figure.
So, from whence does this puzzle come

Well, guess you just proved yourself to be more intelligent than I, since I took longer and needed a grid. Congrats. Hope that makes you feel good or something, since that's apparently what you were going for with that post.innerbrat wrote:It wasn't that hard - but i used to do this kind of puzzle for fun when I was a kid.
