Trip of the Future:
I'm leaving shortly on a multi-leg all-first-class Amtrak journey from Atlanta to the Seattle area via D.C. and Chicago. I'm going to keep a travel log of it and write down my thoughts on it, and comparisons with what the hypothetical transit of the future as described in this document and in numerous peak oil threads, will be like for a typical person of the mid to upper middle class.
So expect that next instead of the next update in the sequence, as an interesting interlude for you all to read.
